After a long while, the two genjutsu appeared on Sasuke's Sharingan panel. Sasuke was at a loss for words. As expected, all genjutsu were automatically transferred to the Sharingan panel!
Looking at the somewhat cluttered list of techniques on his Sharingan panel, Sasuke suddenly felt like fusing some of them. After all, he didn't like unnecessary complications. Simpler was better.
Opening the fusion panel, Sasuke first fused the Bringer-of-Darkness Technique with the Hell Viewing Technique he had just obtained. Both were simple genjutsu, after all.

Looking at the result of the fusion, Sasuke was speechless. Was that all the effort they'd put into it? They hadn't even bothered to come up with a proper name. Still, this new genjutsu looked pretty good: block the enemy's vision, then torture them. It seemed kind of cool.
After fusing the two techniques, Sasuke suddenly realized there was nothing else on the Sharingan panel he could fuse. That was frustrating. Illusion was obviously out of the question, and so was Genjutsu: True Manifestation, since both were genjutsu on a whole other level. As for the two Demonic Illusion techniques, Sasuke didn't want to fuse them. They were standard Uchiha fare, after all! Returning to the Sharingan panel, Sasuke spent 900 general proficiency points to max out Demonic Illusion: Mirror Heaven and Earth Change. Since he had only obtained the technique after absorbing the bloodline crystal, its proficiency cap was still the original 1,000, rather than the current 5,000 for his Sharingan techniques. Sasuke was a little disappointed.

As the Sharingan panel appeared before him, Sasuke's expression grew complicated. He never would've expected that genjutsu—the original Sasuke's weakest area—would become his most terrifying ability. It left him not knowing whether to laugh or cry. Still, he wasn't dissatisfied. As long as it made him stronger, who cared about the rest?
After closing the panel, Sasuke continued working on his original jutsu and further developing the Taiji Rasengan. After all, only a special fusion opportunity could bring about a qualitative leap in his strength, and his next target was the so-called "Konoha Pot King": Shimura Danzō.╰☆☆ 爪 ☆☆╮
Danzō had not only taken Sharingan from the Uchiha Clan, but also possessed the Hashirama Cells Sasuke had been longing for. On top of that, he had Uchiha Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan. Any one of those things was enough to seal Danzō's fate.
Of course, killing Danzō wouldn't be easy; Sasuke would need to plan carefully. Shisui's right eye was absurdly overpowered, so he had to be cautious. And then there were Danzō's many extra lives, which would make things troublesome.
As he worked on a new jutsu and on combining Wind Release: Nature Transformation with the Taiji Rasengan, Sasuke also thought about how to cut off Danzō's right eye and right arm as soon as they faced each other. That would make Danzō much easier to kill.
Time flew by. With Sasuke splitting his attention three ways, he spent the next half month figuring out how to deal with Danzō, but made no progress on developing his new jutsu. He wasn't discouraged, though. He could develop jutsu whenever he wanted, but he couldn't just think through a plan to kill Danzō at any time.
Over those two weeks, Team 7, led by Kakashi, successfully completed ten D-rank missions—a remarkable feat for a newly formed team.
One night, something unbelievable happened in Konoha: the Sealing Scroll had been stolen yet again. The Second Hokage's sword, the Sword of the Thunder God, had been taken along with it.
Not long after the theft, Kakashi—who had been diligently reading Icha Icha Paradise at home—was urgently summoned by the Hokage.
In the Hokage's office, Kakashi looked at Morino Ibiki, who stood nearby with a guilty expression, and stared in disbelief. So something like this had happened?
"Kakashi, this is an emergency. I'm assigning this mission to Team 7. Stop the traitor before he enters the Land of Rain. As for that brat, bring him back if you can."
After handing Kakashi the intelligence gathered by Anbu, Sarutobi Hiruzen glanced at Morino Ibiki, who looked rather nervous, and spoke.
"Yes, sir!"
At Sarutobi Hiruzen's order, Kakashi picked up the scroll containing the intelligence and left the Hokage's office. Before leaving, he gave Morino Ibiki a helpless look.
Once outside the Hokage's office, Kakashi immediately created three Shadow Clones and sent them to gather his team. He himself headed straight for Konoha Gate.
Sasuke was still trying to combine Wind Release: Nature Transformation with the Taiji Rasengan when he suddenly noticed Kakashi in his courtyard.
"Emergency mission. Meet at the gate!"
Before Sasuke could say anything, Kakashi's Shadow Clone told him where to gather, then vanished in a puff of white smoke.
"An emergency mission? Was there something like this in the original story?"
As Sasuke headed for Konoha Gate, he wondered. As far as he could remember, Sasuke had never left on a mission at night in the original story!
"Whatever. So much has already changed. What's one more thing?"
Shaking his head, Sasuke stopped dwelling on it and raced toward Konoha Gate at full speed.
When Sasuke arrived at Konoha Gate, he found Naruto and Sakura already waiting there. Sasuke could only give a helpless little scoff. His home was the farthest away, after all.
"Sasuke, you're late!" Naruto complained as soon as Sasuke arrived, without even knowing what was going on.
"Enough. Get ready to move. I'll explain the details on the way!"
Ignoring Naruto's complaints, Kakashi set off running as soon as Sasuke arrived.
Seeing Kakashi take off, the three hurried after him. They had never seen Kakashi in such a rush before, so this must have been a major mission!
Watching Kakashi speed ahead, Sasuke looked surprised. Why was he in such a hurry? Had something important been stolen? Wait—could it be the Sealing Scroll?
At the thought, Sasuke glanced at Naruto beside him. Naruto should be pretty familiar with something like this!
