The classroom erupted in an uproar.

Everyone knew that points were equivalent to money in the outside world.

With ten million points, you could buy a house in plenty of places outside, right?

And someone had earned that much right after enrolling?

Over ten million points?

While they were still worrying about those hundred thousand points, someone had already earned over ten million.

That shocked them even more than finding out someone knew the school rules.

A lot of people gaped.

"How is that possible?"

"How could it be him? And what's this about over ten million points? Chabashira-sensei, you're joking, right?"

"How could he possibly..."

Kanji Ike didn't believe it at all.

He wasn't just making excuses for himself. He genuinely couldn't believe it.

He couldn't believe that someone he looked down on could be that capable.

"Kanji Ike, are you looking down on him?"

"Some people only seem stupid because they don't want to interact with you. That doesn't mean they're incapable."

"He's the only first-year student council member. How could he be incapable? Are you looking down on the school and the Student Council?"

Chabashira-sensei continued to reveal more.

Getting these students in Class D to care about the Student Council was still too difficult. They didn't even know that someone right beside them had joined it.

"????"

"The Student Council?"

"How is that possible?"

Kanji Ike challenged her, but his voice had grown much quieter.

"Why? Why didn't you tell us?"

"If you'd just told us about the exam, our class score would have—"

Meanwhile, Yamauchi Haruki seemed to have taken it especially hard.

He couldn't accept a life without points from then on.

After all, he'd already experienced what that kind of life was like.

He'd been living that way for over a week.

It wasn't just Yamauchi Haruki and Kanji Ike.

Many people looked at Kageya Shinjitsu with an inexplicable expression.

"That's what they're saying. Don't you have anything to say, Kageya?"

Chabashira-sensei looked at Kageya Shinjitsu, who had been staring out the window without offering an opinion.

What could I possibly say? I want you to shut up, you stupid teacher. You really are defective. Drop dead, idiot.

You can't even teach your students properly, so you go looking for some genius student instead. Are you going to say next that, without any geniuses, only...

That it was all thanks to my hard work, Chabashira Sae, that we made it into Class A.

Kageya Shinjitsu could understand how uncomfortable the teacher must have felt after receiving the news and learning that students in her class weren't contributing to the class and were even planning to transfer elsewhere.

But that didn't justify her constantly picking on him.

And where did she get the confidence to think that bothering him would scare him?

"Teacher, just tell them what you wanted to announce. Don't bring up anything unnecessary."

"I don't have anything to say."

"We're all strangers. We just happened to be assigned to the same class. Plenty of people here don't even know each other's names. You do know that, right?"

Kageya Shinjitsu looked at Chabashira-sensei.

"Now that the novel is officially available, here's the first update. 'Please subscribe,' 'please send flowers,' 'please tip,' 'please bookmark,' and 'please vote for the monthly ticket.'"

Chapter Sixty-Six: Chabashira: I'd Call You the Most Useless

Kageya Shinjitsu knew what she was trying to do.

But he wasn't going to take the bait.

Leading Class D and all that? Forget it.

He would never agree to something so pointless, especially when it would only make things harder for him without earning him any gratitude.

And his careless manner, as though he didn't take anyone there seriously, had provoked a certain short-tempered guy with a bit of an inferiority complex.

"What's with that attitude?"

"Explain yourself!"

"What the hell are you even doing?!"

Ken Sudō stood up from the back.

He was furious.

The teacher's words had already made everyone angry.

She looked down on them, one way or another, and that was the kind of person he hated most.

"What attitude? What kind of attitude do you think I need to have toward you? We're all strangers who just happen to be in the same class. Don't act like we're close, okay? I don't feel like suffering through hardships together or playing some classmate game with you, and I don't feel like carrying you all to success."

"If I told you the news, would you listen? Do you think too highly of yourselves, or too highly of me?"

"Someone like you is often stuck at the stage of 'I know what I should do, but I just can't do it.' Don't you know what you shouldn't do at school? What a joke."

"I'm certain that even if I told you, you'd question me right away. Then Hirata and the others would persuade you, and you'd behave for a few days before quickly going back to how you are now. That's reality."

"And as for this class's points, even without my points, the points everyone else lost would've been enough to bring our class score down to zero. So don't pin every bit of blame on me. This is what you're capable of. You only got the score you earned, that's all."

"And you, Chabashira-sensei, could you please stop letting your personal interests get in the way?"

"Just tell them how the other classes are doing, then tell them that a lot of people in this class are useless, so I can't be bothered to talk to them. It's that simple, isn't it?"

"Do you think classmates like these deserve to be in Class A? If word got out, they'd bring shame on the school. I'd have to consider transferring, too."

Kageya Shinjitsu turned to look at the hotheaded redhead.

His face was full of disdain.

Then he turned back to Chabashira-sensei and shot back at her.

He stayed seated, acting as if he didn't care about anyone in the class.

As if they weren't even in the same class.

As if everyone here were useless.

If he'd shouted, "You're all useless," it might have been fitting.

But he might have gotten beaten up for it.

His string of remarks left Chabashira Sae feeling that things were going very badly.

This student's personality was simply too awful.

He didn't seem like someone she could control at all.

She'd already sensed that he didn't care about the class in the slightest.

Even so, he still made her feel like a problem.

"Bastard."

"You're asking for it."

Those provocative words nearly set the redhead off.

He charged forward, ready to fight.

But someone stopped him.

"That's enough, Sudō."

"Do you want to get expelled?"

Chabashira-sensei looked at Ken Sudō, her eyes cold.

They were all problem students. Some had something wrong with them and didn't care about the class at all. Others had only one thing they were good at.

"Wouldn't him getting expelled be good for this class?"

"Maybe it'd even save everyone else some trouble."

"Maybe without him, you could move up to Class A."

Kageya Shinjitsu added from the side.

He acted as if he were only trying to help them.

But he was the one who'd excluded himself from Class D.

"You're the one picking fights with your classmates. You're the one who should get expelled. That'd be better for this class."

"You betrayed the class right from the start. Who knows what you'll do next?"

"You're the one who should get out."

Kanji Ike and the others retorted.

They stood up for their buddy Sudō.

"Heh..."

"You really are stupid."

Kageya Shinjitsu laughed without arguing back.

They were a bunch of rabble. He hoped they'd always get along that well.

"Everyone, please don't argue."

"Let's hear what the teacher has to say."

Kushida Kikyo had been watching from the side.

When it looked like no fight was going to break out, she stood up and tried to mediate.

"Right. Let's hear what the teacher has to say first."

Hirata also snapped out of it and tried to calm them down.

By then, Hirata's expression had already changed.

Kageya Shinjitsu wasn't surprised by Kushida Kikyo anymore.

He glanced at Hirata Yosuke. That guy's dark past seemed to be coming out, too.

They were the ones arguing, so why did Hirata look so troubled?

Was it because of him? Or was it something else?

Kageya Shinjitsu kept wondering.
