Background / History
Before enrolling at Advanced Nurturing High School, Shinjitsu developed a violent reputation at Chiba Middle School. He fought delinquents, gained the “Minotaur Warrior” nickname, and was reportedly exposed after dealing with numerous troublemakers. The resulting scandal nearly prevented his high-school admission and almost led to detention. His mother repeatedly begged him to avoid further fights during his three school years. 1 25
He enters Advanced Nurturing High School as a First-Year Class D student. Despite his plain self-introduction and outwardly unassuming demeanor, his official profile records perfect or near-perfect academic and physical-test results: Academic Ability, Intelligence, Judgment, and Physical Ability are all rated A, while Teamwork Ability is rated D. 4 9
From his first days at school, Shinjitsu investigates its hidden rules independently. He obtains surveillance footage of an upperclassman’s harassment, presses the Student Council for information, and learns that private points can purchase items, intelligence, penalty waivers, class transfers, and protection from expulsion. 6 7 8
Appearance
Shinjitsu initially presents himself as a quiet, well-behaved student rather than an intimidating fighter. His uniform conceals a heavily trained physique and numerous scars, including marks that resemble knife wounds. 2 19
- Black hair reaching his ears. 2
- Handsome, model-student-like appearance. 2
- Approximately 1.75 meters tall. 2
- Lean, muscular build with pronounced core strength and eight-pack abs. 12
- Numerous body scars, some apparently caused by blades. 19
- Habitually trains with gym equipment, runs, and uses a grip strengthener. 12 17
Personality
Shinjitsu is intensely individualistic. He believes that failure comes from insufficient personal ability and dismisses friendship as inherently transactional. This worldview drives his refusal to prioritize Class D’s collective interests over his own security, wealth, and eventual transfer to Class A. 12 13 45
He often appears apathetic, socially awkward, or forgetful—most notably when repeatedly misnaming Kushida Kikyo. Beneath that façade, he is observant, calculating, and willing to test people, exploit school rules, and manipulate conflicts to gain leverage. 2 7 19 27
Shinjitsu treats ordinary people and malicious people differently. He can remain calm, polite, and helpful, such as when giving up his bus seat or protecting Karuizawa Kei, but becomes sarcastic, threatening, and cruelly provocative when he believes someone has wronged him. 1 19 26 40

Point Accumulation Scheme
After understanding that 20 million points can buy an individual class transfer, Shinjitsu begins making cross-class deals. He works with Ryuen, Ichinose, and Class A representatives to profit from Class D’s expected decline, prioritizing his own transfer over Class D’s recovery. 14 16
Locker-Room Conflict and Swimming Competition

Karuizawa Incident
Karuizawa identifies Shinjitsu as the “Minotaur Warrior” and approaches him. When second-year students ambush them, he defeats all three attackers, records and stages the event to their disadvantage, then agrees to protect Karuizawa in exchange for her obedience as his “tool.” 25 26 27 30
