The Greatest Enemy
Emperor Tower.
The ninth basement level was filled with the cold, steely atmosphere, mixed with a faint, fresh smell of engine oil.
The Flash was in a bad situation. He was suspended in the air in a starfish position, with thick pipes connecting his hands and legs. His legs were mechanical prosthetics, brand new, with a smooth steel surface that gleamed with a cold, rubbery light.
There are a dozen transparent tubes, each the size of an artery, that pierce through arteries throughout his body, connecting to his heart and blood vessels, providing anesthesia, and constantly drawing blood to monitor his condition.
'Sizzle...'
Yellow arcs of electricity stretched across his body, striking the dust around his skin and making crackling sounds.
Through the tubes in his body, a slightly yellowish energy mixed with his blood was absorbed and transported to various locations for research.
Speed Force!
He was restricted, controlling the frequency of the Speed Force and its absorption, collecting the Speed Force through pipes for measurement and research.
"Your Majesty, his body's cells have a regenerative ability dozens of times that of ordinary people. Within his cell nuclei, a peculiar energy emanates. This energy moves at an exceptionally rapid frequency, appearing and disappearing in a fraction of a second, making it difficult to capture and utilize."
"We can only study this Speed Force by extracting his blood each time, combined with the pulsating energy. Due to time constraints, our research is still in the exploratory stage."
"But there is a very strange discovery: the source of his energy is unknown, but as long as his body is nourished, he can generate this strange Speed Force."
"Huanran, Your Majesty, as long as he maintains a full and nutritious diet, the energy he consumes and gains is simply disproportionate; he is practically a human perpetual motion machine!!"
Ferdinand Swann, an elderly man with graying hair, stared intently at the Flash, his eyes gleaming, his face flushed, as he excitedly reported.
Even though he had witnessed many advanced technologies in the Underground Research Institute of the Emperor Tower, technologies that were worthy of any Nobel Prize in the world, he was still extremely shocked by this individual life with such a peculiar energy response.
This energy, known as the Speed Force, and the power the Flash possessed, was truly astonishing to him.
The topic he was researching, the Flesh Mechanical Life Power Furnace, was something that would shock the entire universe.
He could even imagine that once this kind of energy was mixed with flesh and blood mechanical technology and a flesh and blood technology spaceship was created, constantly running and bursting out with Speed Force, it would be enough to travel in the universe at Super Light Speed.
Even without the creation of wormholes, this Super Light Speed travel alone would be enough to roam the entire Solar System.
Not to mention, theoretically, Super Light Speed is a point in time that can be traveled to. At that time, it might even be possible to test the past, which would be a truly shocking and astonishing event that would change the entire world.
Despite the various difficulties in utilizing it, he believed that given time, he would definitely be able to research and utilize this Speed Force. At that time, Super Light Speed travel and time travel might even be possible.
Holding the report developed by Ferdinand Swann, Ba Di kept swiping and scrolling on the tablet, his face indifferent, his eyes reflecting the data on the tablet. He flipped through dozens of pages in a row, and after reading them...
Ba Di nodded, his eyes turning to the old man, Ferdinand Swann. Originally, Ba Di had only brought Swan under his wing because of Thawne surname and the fact that the old man did indeed have a certain authority in scientific research in the world.
Unexpectedly, this old man was surprisingly knowledgeable. In a short period of time, he deduced a certain level of the Speed Force's application effectiveness based on the Flash's Speed Force theory.
The Earth scientists in this world are truly incredibly imaginative and amazing.
"Good job. Make sure he gets enough nutrition. Wake him up first; I have something to talk to him about."
Ba Di held out the tablet and said.
Ferdinand Swann's expression froze. After a moment's hesitation, he took the tablet from Ba Di's hand and said hesitantly, "Your Majesty, once he recovers his strength and fully utilizes the Speed Force he's been absorbing from who-knows-where, he might break free..."
He had been maintaining a state of Flash, subtly extracting the Speed Force and the Flash's blood.
Even with a cooling device nearby that could cool and suppress the cells and the Speed Force, Ferdinand Swann dared not fully rouse the Flash. In his theoretical analysis, the ultimate terrifying effect of the Speed Force energy was something that the cooling device could not limit; at least, according to his theoretical predictions, it was difficult to control.
Ba Di's face remained indifferent as he glanced at him coldly.
Ferdinand Swann dared not offer any further advice. He lowered his head, a glint of light flashing in his eyes. He could only follow Ba Di's instructions, supplying the Flash with enough nutrients to awaken him and stopping the anesthesia, so that the Flash was awake but not strong enough to unleash more Speed Force.
Even so, the weakened Flash groggily opened his eyes and woke up.
The moment he saw Ba Di, countless yellow arcs of electricity erupted from his body, his veins bulging, and he glared at Ba Di with deep anger, growling, "Ba Miu Luo Di!!!"
The Flash struggled, gripping tightly with both hands, his body swaying in a spread-eagle position in the air. Then, the arcs of electricity emanating from his body rapidly dissipated, and his blood, mixed with the Speed Force energy, was absorbed again through the tubes.
His face contorted in pain, the absorbed blood devouring his flesh like a worm, and as he suffered, his body weakened, the mournful flashes of electricity disappeared, his head drooped limply, and he gasped for breath with a pale face.
"I've done what I promised you, and now it's your turn to fulfill your promise."
Ba Di said indifferently.
The Flash lowered his head, breathing heavily, his pupils straining to rise as he stared at Ba Di, forcing a sneer as he said, "You Ba Miu Luo Di, aren't you omnipotent? Do you also want to go back in time and change your regrets?"
Ba Di remained silent, his eyes coldly fixed on The Flash.
A silent atmosphere filled the air.
A faint chill permeated the air, quietly touching the skin and giving Ba Di and The Flash a cool sensation.
After silently watching the Flash for a while, Ba Di slowly spoke.
"I can find your relatives, all of you relatives who are my enemies."
"But all along, I have not investigated or paid attention to where you have placed your relatives because I do not want your foolish actions to implicate your own family members who love you as well."
"This is my small token of respect for you who have defied me."
"I can deal with you all alone."
"But that doesn't mean you have the right to laugh at me here and not keep your promises!"
Ba Di said slowly, with a hint of threat, "The Flash, do you mean you're going to refuse to do what I asked?"
The Flash's face contorted in a grimace. He gasped for breath, gritted his teeth, and growled from deep within his throat, "Bamu! Lo! Di!!"
Ba Di remained silent, staring blankly at the Flash.
He was angry for quite a while.
The Flash, with a bitter, agonizing, and helpless expression, said, "I will help you go back in time, but you must promise me that you will never hurt anyone else's family, or my parents."
Ba Di suddenly fell silent, staring at the Flash with a furrowed brow and a strange glint in his eyes.
"You mean... father... mother? Father? Mother?"
"Wasn't your mother killed by burglars when you were a child?"
He never actually knew which world this was, because there were far more than 52 parallel universes in the DC Universe, making it impossible to know which world it was.
However, there is one rare world where the Flash's mother did not die...
"Enough, Ba Miu Luo Di! I promise you, I will obey your orders. My mother, my father, please spare them!"
The Flash gritted his teeth, tears welling up in his eyes and dripping onto the cold ground. Each teardrop pierced through the faint mist on the ground, causing it to churn gently.
Ba Di's pupils shrank in horror, his hands and feet went cold, and a huge wave of emotions surged in his heart.
