Savitar's Speed Force Prison
Within the Speed Force.
This is the prison of the Speed Force.
Interstellar Laboratory.
Through the smooth glass walls of the chemistry lab, Ba Di saw the scene unfolding before him.
He was tall and thin, with severe burn scars starting from his right eye and cheek, which gave his originally sunny and cheerful appearance a somewhat ferocious, cold, and evil feel. His eyes were filled with deep resentment, anger, and pain.
All of this stemmed from the fact that the people around him considered him an oddball, a Flash who wasn't their friend, Flash who wasn't the Flash.
"You want to kill my wife..."
Ba Di raised an eyebrow, ran his fingers through the stubble on his chin, and looked at Savitar's extremely wicked appearance.
Savitar's dying wish was to kill all his relatives who discriminated against him and then become a god.
Because God has no suffering.
He had already been tortured and suffered countless cycles of pain in the Speed Force Prison, and as a result, his mind had become so twisted that it could no longer bear it.
Ba Di turned around and walked out of the slightly chilly chemistry lab. Outside, the slightly stuffy, cool air rushed in, slightly clogging his skin pores. A warm-to-cold sensation, as if his skin were blocked by a black cloth, appeared on his body.
"It really is the same." Ba Di rubbed the skin on his hands, and the downy hairs gradually adjusted. From the moment the goosebumps first rose due to the temperature difference, he controlled himself and made the goosebumps return to normal, and the downy hairs softened.
This is the Speed Force Prison.
The Speed Force simulates Central City from the original TV series, as well as The Flash's base, the Interstellar Laboratory.
The cycle of reincarnation continues here, imprisoning Savitar.
Not only that, the Speed Force also thoughtfully created Savitar's former relatives, so that he had to endure the discriminatory gazes of these familiar relatives at all times.
This is far more miserable than the prison that Ba Di created when he was trapped in the Speed Force, a prison with no limit on his ability to go anywhere.
Savitar had to endure all the pain from his past at all times: the disapproval and rejection from his loved ones, who considered him a monster; the resistant gaze from his adoptive father, who didn't acknowledge him as his son; the discomfort and suspicion from his colleagues; and all sorts of discriminatory looks. All of these things broke down this kind-hearted Flash, and this wasn't the first time.
Instead, it was an endless, cruel cycle of discrimination that drove the Flash to madness, forcing him to become a villain.
Compared to Ba Di's experience, there are surprisingly some similarities and differences.
But after successfully killing his wife, Ba Di transmigrated to another world, where he endured extreme suffering and reincarnation in his dark state. With his strong will, he even overthrew the dark side, using his intelligence and power to dominate the universe, become the Only God, reach the pinnacle of life, and even possess the power to disrupt the multiverse.
Savitar, on the other hand, is trapped in a cycle of being manipulated by the Speed Force, seemingly succeeding only to ultimately fail, and destined to fail as well.
Of course, with Ba Di's arrival, Savitar was destined for an extraordinary future.
'Tap... tap... tap...'
Ba Di walked through the empty passageway, his footsteps echoing in the deserted space.
He walked past Cisco's laboratory.
Walk past Caitlin's biology lab.
After passing many familiar laboratories, we went straight to the control room lobby.
Ba Di didn't consciously control his steps, but the voices in the control room were noticeably loud, so no one heard Ba Di's arrival and continued talking.
"We...shouldn't treat him like this; he's Barry too."
"I'm sorry, Caitlin, I can't accept that this person is Barry, not the real Barry. I can't hug him."
"He's nothing but a Time Remnant..."
"I don't know how to face him!"
"He's not Barry!"
"I have a hard time facing Barry; he...is not my son."
"But..."
Beside the monitoring console, Joe, Caitlin, Iris, and Cisco were having a helpless discussion about this sudden Time Remnant.
They didn't acknowledge that this Barry was the Barry they knew; instead, they discussed it here with a sense of evasion and helplessness.
Only Caitlin showed a hint of pity on her face, because it was so pitiful.
Everyone knows that the Time Remnant is also Barry, but they don't treat Barry as Barry. That kind of estrangement, avoidance, and unnatural expression between relatives always makes people feel the despair in their hearts.
Caitlin had no way to refute it; it was indeed hard to imagine that this Barry with the burns on his face was Barry, the handsome and kind Flash.
Even Barry's beloved childhood sweetheart, Iris, couldn't accept Barry, Caitlin could only sigh helplessly.
As Ba Di stepped into the doorway, the voices of Barry's lover, adoptive father, and even his best friend Cisco fell silent instantly.
The air conditioning in the room seemed to emit a slow, deliberate sound.
Joe, the adoptive father who was sitting in the chair, shifted his body uncomfortably, unable to look directly at Barry, who bore the scars of burns.
"I still have some things to do at the newspaper."
Iris's expression changed unnaturally, her body stiffened for a moment, then she forced a smile, picked up her coat from beside her, shrugged, and strode out of the control room lobby. As she passed Ba Di, she feigned helplessness and quickly left the control room lobby.
Ba Di watched as his former lover, Barry's former lover, quickly and disdainfully left his side.
That unease, that fear of oneself, that avoidance of oneself, that feeling that one's dearest lover dared not embrace them, all faded away with the rapid clatter of high heels.
No wonder Savitar wanted to kill his wife... Ba Di thought to himself. Although his gaze was indifferent and he didn't seem to care, the burn on his right cheek clearly gave him a ferocious and insane look of anger.
"I also need to go to the police station."
Joe's dark complexion and unnatural expression made him nod as if deep in thought. He avoided looking at Ba Di, as if a major case had occurred at the police station. He nodded to Ba Di and hurried away from the control room.
"I'll go check on the lab." Cisco bowed his head and followed them away.
In just a few dozen seconds of silence, Cisco, Joe, Iris were unable to face Barry and thus left the control room lobby.
Ba Di glanced silently at their retreating figures.
This is the pain that Barry, who once loved them, endured countless times: not being acknowledged by the people he loved, being abandoned by his adoptive father, and having his friends who dared not face him.
I am a monster.
Ba Di shook his head. "No wonder Savitar wanted to kill you. After being tortured millions of times like this, it's normal for them to turn evil."
Ba Di turned his head and looked at Caitlin, who was standing to the side, her body stiff and her fingers tangled together helplessly.
"Caitlin, aren't you going to leave?"
Ba Di asked with amusement, but the burn scars on his right cheek, even when he smiled, gave off an unsettling, savage grin, making him look like an evil person, hard to look at directly.
Caitlin's body stiffened and trembled slightly before she nervously said, "No, no need..."
After saying that, she glanced at Ba Di out of the corner of her eye, as if sensing Barry's loneliness at that moment, and couldn't help but say, "They... didn't mean it, they just haven't gotten used to it yet..."
After saying a few words, she seemed to soften her guard, looking at Ba Di with pity in her eyes, and said, "Barry, don't blame them, they just... just..."
In the end, Caitlin frowned, her small fists clenched, unable to say what they were just... just what.
Because of their avoidance, their evasion, and their refusal to acknowledge that Barry is Barry, they have deeply hurt Barry, and the wounds are beyond repair.
Ba Di looked at Caitlin, who was explaining herself, with a smile in his eyes.
In the Flash TV series, Caitlin and Barry actually seem to have a certain something about them, giving the impression that they should be a couple.
Whether it's supporting Barry to become the Flash, becoming Barry's doctor, healing Barry whenever Barry's injured, or in the Interstellar Laboratory, the two of them give the impression of being a couple.
He is a more perfect match than Iris.
The fact that Savitar's true form even appeared, and Caitlin's second personality, Killer Frost, immediately sided with Savitar and became his subordinate, made things even more perplexing.
It seems the two of them share a subtle, unspoken connection.
But they just weren't a couple.
