Background / History
Ryuen was reportedly a well-behaved child in elementary school, but became a delinquent during middle school for unspecified reasons. Determined not to be known solely for her beauty, she hardened herself and trained her body extensively so she could defeat opponents herself. 35 40
At Class C’s orientation, Ryuen interrupted Sakagami Kazuma’s briefing to announce that she would become the class’s “king.” She challenged every dissenter, knocking Yamada Albert down with three punches before defeating a group of five students despite being injured. The victory forced Class C into submission and established her rule. 1
Hoya Chukai was the first classmate to openly support her claim. He encouraged her to become a hegemon rather than merely a tyrant, then assumed the role of her strategist while Ryuen became Class C’s public enforcer. She later discarded the title “King” in favor of “Boss.” 1 8
Appearance
Ryuen is a red-haired girl whose gyaru-like styling and makeup initially make her appear more like a delinquent than a model student. Her relatively delicate build contrasts sharply with her exceptional fighting strength. 1 2
- Red hair and gyaru-style makeup. 1
- Fair, delicate hands and feet despite her powerful strikes. 16 36
- A curvy figure that draws attention during swimming class, though her usual intimidating presence discourages open reactions. 21
- Often carries herself with crossed legs, a confrontational stare, or an openly domineering posture. 1 4
Personality
Ryuen is domineering, confrontational, and highly protective of her authority. She treats challenges to her leadership as personal defiance, using violence and intimidation to make Class C obey. She expects immediate compliance from subordinates and reacts sharply to any sign that Hoya may be acting outside her control. 1 4 16
Despite her brutal methods, she does not indiscriminately attack those who obey her. Shiina Hiyori observes that Ryuen only targets those who defy her, a distinction Ryuen accepts as part of being a proper “Boss.” 8 Under Hoya’s influence, Class C develops a system balancing Ryuen’s severity with rewards for cooperation. 19
Ryuen is impatient and favors aggressive, direct solutions, such as provoking enemies into striking first so they receive harsher punishment. She is less comfortable with long-term risk calculations and often relies on Hoya and Shiina to temper her impulses. 8 9
Away from conflict, she is competitive, enjoys arcade games, and can be surprisingly dependent on others for domestic tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and daily necessities. 36 39
Abilities & Skills
Hand-to-Hand Combat
Ryuen possesses exceptional physical strength and combat ability despite her slight appearance.
- Defeated Yamada Albert with three punches during her first-day challenge. 1
- Fought through multiple Class C challengers and defeated five opponents at once, though she sustained injuries. 1
- Uses physical dominance to establish and maintain control over Class C. 1 15
- Was decisively outmatched by Ayanokoji Kiyohime, who forced her back while fighting with only one hand and one leg. 50
Intimidation and Class Command
Ryuen’s leadership is built primarily on fear, personal strength, and an expectation of absolute obedience.
- Claimed control of Class C through an open challenge rather than appointment or election. 1
- Holds class meetings and restricts her classmates’ freedom to ensure they follow her instructions. 21
- Commands loyal subordinates including Albert, Kaneda Satoru, and Ibuki Mio. 15 30
- Her rule is more sustainable when paired with Hoya’s system of rewards for completed work. 19
Tactical Instincts and Intelligence Gathering
While Hoya handles much of Class C’s larger strategy, Ryuen can identify aggressive tactical opportunities and actively gathers information.
- Proposed provoking rival students into attacking first so Class C could exploit the school’s punishment system. 8
- Maintains students assigned to collect intelligence on other classes. 24
- Participates in discussions concerning Class A’s internal split and the need to keep Katsuragi Kohei’s faction from collapsing too quickly. 35

- Scored approximately forty points on Hoya’s assessment of her abilities. 45
- Initially resisted studying, but agreed to tutoring after Hoya threatened to withhold beer. 43

Relationships
- Hoya Chukai — Her strategist and favored subordinate. He publicly supported her seizure of Class C, while she relies on his planning and repeatedly tests his loyalty. Their relationship mixes strategic partnership, possessiveness, and a persistent “Boss” and “lapdog” dynamic. 1 9 35 46

- Ayanokoji Kiyohime — A fellow student Ryuen spars against after Hoya challenges her to do so. Ayanokoji overwhelms Ryuen, establishing a clear gap in their combat ability. 49 50
- Sakayanagi Arisu — A rival from Class A who provokes Ryuen during a meeting with Hoya. Ryuen responds by insulting her, escalating the tension between them. 37
- Sakagami Kazuma — Class C’s homeroom teacher. His refusal to intervene during Ryuen’s first-day takeover effectively permits her rise to power. 1
