At that moment, Bolan's heart surged with excitement, and beside him, Linley's little face had turned red with excitement as well.
"Finally, finally, the day has come!" Bolan almost wanted to shout at the sky. "Do you know how I've spent these past few years?"
"I'll go get the Dragonblood Needle. You two wait here for a moment," Hogg said excitedly before heading toward the secret room behind the Ancestral Hall.
"Brother, do you think we can become Dragonblood Warriors?" Linley asked uneasily.
"We can. We definitely can. I promise you," Bolan said firmly.
In truth, Bolan was panicking too. His fear outweighed his anxiety—if he failed to awaken the Dragonblood Warrior bloodline, then he could only cling to someone powerful. With that thought, he glanced at the somewhat uneasy Linley beside him.
Before long, Hogg emerged from the secret room holding an extremely thin needle about twenty centimeters long.
So this is the Dragonblood Needle. I never thought there would come a day when my Fate would be decided by a needle, Bolan thought with a wry smile.
"All right, which of you will go first?" Hogg asked expectantly as he looked at them.
Seeing that Linley beside him was even more nervous, Bolan said, "Let my younger brother go first."
Hogg froze for a moment. "All right. Then Linley will go first."
"Hold out your hand. It won't hurt. It'll just lightly prick the skin," Hogg said with a smile as he looked at the sweating, nervous Linley.
Linley took a deep breath and solemnly held out his right hand.
"Bear with it," Hogg said nervously as he gently pricked Linley's right index finger with the Dragonblood Needle.
The Dragonblood Needle changed from transparent to crimson. Hogg immediately raised the needle before his eyes and examined it carefully, his body trembling!
"Alas..." After a while, Hogg let out a sigh. Linley's little face trembled, and he burst into tears.
Bolan quickly comforted his younger brother. "Don't cry, don't cry. Big Brother will always protect you from now on. And Wharton too, of course."
Little Linley sniffled and said, "Father, Brother, I'm sorry. I disappointed you. Brother hasn't been tested yet. Hurry and test Brother."
Hogg crouched down and held both brothers. "Linley, don't be sad. The clan hasn't produced a Dragonblood Warrior in over a thousand years. Father never held much hope to begin with. Even if you didn't qualify, Father won't blame you."
"Father, test me too," Bolan said from beside him.
"Mm," Hogg replied softly.
The Dragonblood Needle in Hogg's hand lightly pricked Bolan's right index finger. The needle immediately turned crimson, but unlike Linley's earlier result, there was an almost imperceptible trace of azure within the crimson.
Seeing this, Hogg's eyes suddenly widened.
"It actually... it really is..."
"Haha! My son is a Dragonblood Warrior!" Hogg was nearly mad with joy. He picked Bolan up, looking utterly exhilarated.
After a while, he set Bolan down and said, "Wait here." With that, he hurried toward the secret room.
Soon, Hogg returned holding a thick book wrapped in black magical beast hide. Four ancient words were written on its cover: Dragonblood Secret Manual.
"According to the records in the Dragonblood Secret Manual, when a Dragonblood Warrior first cultivates the Dragonblood Secret Manual, he can complete dragon transformation and become a true Dragonblood Warrior."
"Bolan, hurry and try it," Hogg said anxiously. Little Linley beside him also widened his eyes and stared at his brother. As for jealousy, that was impossible. The two brothers had shared the same mother and been born together; they could be said to be the two closest people in the world. Besides, Bolan had been an orphan in his previous life. Now that he had parents and brothers in this life, how could he possibly treat his family and younger brother badly?
Bolan took a deep breath and nodded heavily. "All right, Father."
With that, he opened the Dragonblood Secret Manual and excitedly began trying the method recorded within for awakening the Dragonblood Warrior bloodline.
"Try to guide the violent power within your body." That was what the book said! After all, it was their own power. As long as a member of the Baruch Clan had sufficient Dragonblood Warrior bloodline, transforming was an effortless matter!
Just as Bolan began guiding his power according to the book's records, he suddenly let out a scream, startling Hogg and Linley beside him. Little Linley was nearly frightened into tears again. After all, his brother had always been calm, and this scream was simply too terrifying!
Hogg, however, was extremely excited. Although he could not cultivate the Dragonblood Secret Manual, as a member of the Dragonblood Warrior clan, he knew that Bolan's condition was clearly a sign that he was about to transform into a Dragonblood Warrior.
Azure dragon scales continuously emerged from the skin around Bolan's body. As the scales grew, dragon horns slowly began growing from his forehead as well. Then, with a swish, a bloodstained tail likewise covered in dragon scales slowly emerged from the end of Bolan's spine, like a steel whip. As Bolan lay on the ground in pain, a stream of azure Dragonblood Battle Qi within his body continuously washed over him.
Bolan's young body trembled again. His hands and feet shook violently, while the nails on his fingers and toes became sharp, like miniature dragon claws. The pain of claws growing from his body made Bolan's entire body shudder, and he fainted directly onto the ground.
