If there really was a breach, then all he had to do was open it and go home. How simple and convenient.

Why had he never thought of something so simple?

All this time, he had been trapped in the mindset that he had to use Dr. Wells's twenty-fifth-century scientific knowledge to get home, struggling within that circle.

In fact, it was simple. He just had to find a breach where he had arrived and go back through it.

Like opening a door—open it, then step through.

Everything was so simple.

Lin Li was practically itching to move. In an instant, he became so excited that he forgot himself, as though he had been injected with adrenaline.

He grabbed Dr. Wells's arm and said excitedly, "It must have been the lightning striking that black energy sphere, activating some unknown, strange Interdimensional Energy. Maybe that black energy sphere itself was Interdimensional Energy. Once it was activated, it created a passage to this world."

"In theory, Interdimensional Energy can leak from one universe into another. When enough Interdimensional Energy leaks out, it may form an interdimensional black hole leading to another world."

Lin Li's eyes gleamed green. In his excitement, his grip on Dr. Wells's hand unconsciously tightened.

Dr. Wells felt as if his right arm had been clamped in an iron vise, leaving him unable to move. He let out a pained groan.

"Ah..."

Only when he saw Dr. Wells's face flushing red did Lin Li snap out of his overexcited state and release his right arm.

His strength was not something an ordinary person could endure, much less when he was excited and had accidentally used a little force.

Just now, he had even felt himself squeeze Dr. Wells's bones. When he let go, a deep red handprint was left on Dr. Wells's arm.

Seeing the cold sweat on Dr. Wells's forehead and his pained expression as he sucked in sharp breaths, Lin Li felt apologetic—and secretly delighted.

However, Lin Li had not done it on purpose. He had truly just been too excited.

Dr. Wells trembled as he said with a shaking hand, "Lin Li, your top priority now is to build a detector to check for the existence of Interdimensional Energy. As for me, I'll go find Caitlin and have her treat me..."

Dr. Wells, sitting in his wheelchair like an epileptic patient, sweating cold sweat and shaking, looked particularly hilarious to Lin Li.

Whether in the television series or after arriving in this world, Dr. Wells had always given people the impression of being refined, knowledgeable, learned, calm, warm, profound, kind, and gentle. Caitlin glared at him with wide eyes, fierce as a little tiger. "Lin Li, you dared hurt Dr. Wells? I'll smack you to death!"

She raised a file over her head as though she were about to bring it down on him. He had really scared her just now. She had never seen Dr. Wells like this—so pained, covered in cold sweat, gritting his teeth in agony.

At the most difficult and lowest point in her life, she had lost her reputation, her fiancé, everything—everything. Back then, she felt that the sky itself was gray, that life had no meaning and there was no reason to exist. She had even considered suicide.

During that darkest period, Dr. Wells had stayed by her side, helping her work through it, guiding and comforting her, telling her that everything would get better.

To her, Dr. Wells was not merely her boss. He was someone she deeply respected and trusted, a kind mentor she was grateful to.

Now that someone had hurt Dr. Wells, of course she would not allow it.

Lin Li said helplessly and apologetically, "No, Caitlin, I didn't hurt Dr. Wells. Why would I hurt Dr. Wells?"

"We were discussing a possible way for me to get home. I got so excited that I instinctively grabbed Dr. Wells's arm, and this happened. I'm sorry too."

Caitlin thought about it and found that reasonable. Lin Li had only been here for a few days, but he did not seem like someone who would hurt others. On the hospital bed, Dr. Wells slowly opened his eyes, a cold gleam flashing within them.

Lin Li's strength had left him shocked and in excruciating pain.

In that instant in the basement, he had thought Lin Li had discovered that he was Reverse-Flash and intended to kill him. At such close range, unless he severed one of his own arms and fled with the Speed Force, he would have had no chance of survival.

Wells narrowed his eyes. The pain radiating from his arm made him grit his teeth as he silently made up his mind.

Lin Li had to leave this place as soon as possible.

He would be far too uncontrollable a factor.

Especially since he was such an intelligent person. Wells could not be sure how long he could keep his identity as Reverse-Flash hidden from him.

Too much information had leaked that night. There were very few people he could suspect, and if Lin Li truly investigated, it would be easy for him to trace it back to Wells.

That left Wells deeply worried.
