Jack had worked with Mardon a few times before, on small robberies of passersby and convenience stores. Later, when the Mardon brothers got the idea to rob a bank, Jack didn't dare to work with them anymore. What idiots, just getting by normally was fine, and they wanted to rob a bank? It turned out Jack was right; the Mardon brothers had reportedly died.

He hadn't expected Clyde Mardon to still be alive, and with an arm missing.

"Mardon, what are you doing here? I don't want to rob a bank with you."

Jack's eyes flashed with a different color, and he looked at Mardon unpleasantly. Then, he became listless again, yawning lazily, curling up his body, and sluggishly shuffling over to the bed to lie down.

At this moment, he wondered if he reported Mardon to that damned cop, would he get a little 'food'?

Then he remembered Mardon's ruthlessness and decided his life was more important. He shivered twice on the bed and abandoned the thought. He just wanted to sleep now, get through the night, and then go rob passersby to get some money for 'food'.

"Jack, you're really becoming more and more useless."

Mardon looked at Jack with disdain. If he couldn't find anyone else, he wouldn't have come to find a drug addict who didn't even dare to rob a bank.

"OK, Mardon, you're very promising. With one hand missing, you're much more promising than me."

Jack curled up on the bed, not even opening his eyes, and mumbled.

The mention of the missing hand touched Mardon's heart. He clenched his fists, his fingernails digging into his flesh without him noticing, a hateful expression appearing on his face.

The bandaged missing arm stung his anger. Mardon's pupils were filled with hateful rage, and the intense fury caused blood to seep from his severed limb.

Mardon raised his right hand and smashed the black duffel bag at his feet onto Jack, who was on the bed.

Jack was hit, feeling dizzy, which ignited his anger. He got up and cursed, "FUCK YOU, you want to..."

The green US dollars that fell out of the duffel bag stopped his rage, as it was at least hundreds of thousands of dollars, more money than he had ever seen. He hugged the money in a daze, his eyes gradually lighting up.

Mardon said with a sinister and ferocious expression, "Listen to my orders. You can have anything, otherwise, you will only die."

Jack's heart jumped, and he asked fearfully, "What do you want to do?"

Mardon, with a grim face, took out his phone from his trench coat pocket. He opened it, displaying a photo, and showed it to Jack, saying, "Kidnap this cop."

Jack leaned closer to the phone and exclaimed, "It's him."

Mardon raised an eyebrow, looking confused and saying, "You know him?"

Jack nodded, clutching the money and mumbling, "A few nights ago, he found me..."

He looked at Mardon hesitantly, holding the money tightly to his chest, and said, "He found me and told me to notify him if I had any news about you, and I would receive a substantial reward."

Mardon laughed angrily, "Damn cop, you're looking for death!"

"Mardon, listen, I'm not helping you kill a cop. I'm not crazy. I'm living well. There's no need to look for death."

Jack said tremblingly, frightened by Mardon's condition.

Mardon said dismissively, "Living well? Like you? You just need to lure that cop out and help me buy lightning arrestors. The rest of the money will allow you to live well."

Jack's eyes lit up, and he said excitedly, "Are you telling the truth?"

If it were true, he wouldn't have to do much. Just make a phone call saying he had news of Mardon and notify the police, then he could leave. Whatever Mardon did wouldn't be his problem. Buying lightning arrestors was also simple; finding someone to install them wouldn't cost tens of thousands of dollars. Here was almost half a million dollars, enough for him to squander until he died.

Greed and addiction completely took over his mind, and he believed Mardon's words.

Mardon didn't care about this money at all. With his abilities, he could easily get this money. Robbing a few more banks, no one could stop him; he could even rule the entire city. No one could stop him, except the person who used lightning, the person who would hinder him, the person who made him fearful, the person he ran from, the person who made his heart tremble. This world only needed him to become a god; everyone else could just die!

He couldn't find Lin Li, but he knew that the fast-running man in red was very concerned about this cop, and the lightning person was very concerned about Barry. At that time, he even blocked two of his attacks for Barry. Thus, the formula cop = man in red = lightning person was established in his mind.

He easily came up with a plan to lure the snake out of its hole, which was why he found Jack. It was inconvenient for him to appear; the police had already issued a warrant. He needed Jack to buy the lightning arrestors, set everything up, and kill the people who hindered him.

The villain was deploying a trap plan.

The heroes, led by The Flash, were still having Cisco direct Barry to put out fires everywhere, with Caitlin monitoring Barry's physical characteristics nearby. Even she couldn't quite understand how she had so naturally become part of Barry and Cisco's group.

A few more days passed.

During the time Mardon had been wanted, Joe had set several traps, and two had taken the bait. One was a farm worker who was desperate for money. The worker found a piece of clothing Mardon hadn't worn in a long time and claimed Mardon had been with him recently, leaving a piece of clothing. Joe and Lin Li rushed over, startling Mardon, who escaped. Mardon then demanded Joe pay him for information. Upon investigation, it was found to be fake. The farm worker was beaten by Lin Li, ending up with a swollen face.

The second was Mardon's ex-girlfriend, who claimed she thought she saw Mardon. Of course, no clues were found to corroborate her story in the end. However, this ex-girlfriend of Mardon did not demand any information fee, thus preserving her screamingly ugly appearance.

At the Central City Police Department, Joe was sitting at his computer, writing a report, when his phone rang. He glanced at it; it was an unknown number.

"Detective West, it's Jack. I know where Mardon is. You need to come over."

Joe vaguely recalled his memory of Jack: a drug addict, messy stubble, sagging skin, dark circles under his eyes.

After two fruitless operations, he didn't immediately believe Jack's words. Instead, he threatened him, "Jack, I know you. Others have tried to get information fees from me several times. If this isn't accurate, Jack, you'll need to spend some time in rehab."

After hanging up, Joe didn't immediately call Lin Li to come over. This time, it was in a forest in the southern part of the city. He planned to go scout it out. Once confirmed, he would call Lin Li to come and deal with Mardon, or he might not need Lin Li. After all, flesh and blood couldn't withstand bullets.

As time passed, Mardon's strength gradually faded from his mind.
