Background & History

Medusa ordered Yue Mei to immediately marry Xiao Chen despite Yue Mei's objections. Yue Mei considered Xiao Chen—then publicly known as a Three-Star Dou Zhe—unworthy of her and could only comply because it was the Queen's command. Their wedding was held the same day. 2 3

Following the wedding night, Yue Mei interrogated Xiao Chen over the reason for Medusa's order. Believing he had dishonored her and remained weak, she attempted to kill him after fulfilling the Queen's command. Xiao Chen repelled her attacks and revealed that he had become a Nine-Star Dou Wang, stronger than Yue Mei herself. 3

Yue Mei personally reported Xiao Chen's cultivation to Medusa and thanked the Queen for arranging the marriage. Her opinion shifted from contempt to respect, shaped by Xiao Chen's strength and the tribe's principle that strength commands status. 4

She later began openly defending Xiao Chen. Yue Mei stopped the Second Elder from attacking him, declaring that anyone who wished to harm Xiao Chen would have to pass through her first.
