After the banquet!

Lady Weide was furious. "Those two country siblings are so arrogant! We should have just sent someone to kill them years ago, and we wouldn't be in this mess now. ♟✎ 👻♪"

Lady Weide believed that her son would become the city lord.

But unexpectedly, her son died so young.

"That fool Huolmo has lived like a beast for over three hundred years," Lady Weide, her eyes flashing coldly. "In over three hundred years, Huolmo has probably amassed quite a fortune."

Late at night, the Chier Prefecture City was very quiet.

Huolmo's mansion was located in the eastern part of Chier Prefecture City. The mansion was extremely large and had a great many beautiful maids. Huolmo was a man who had a great fondness for beautiful women.

Suddenly, the sound of rapid hoofbeats rang out.

Two guards from the Huolmo mansion peered out of a hole beside the main gate, their faces turning deathly pale. A large number of armored city guards had already gathered outside the gate.

"Open the door!" a proud knight riding a fine horse and wearing white armor shouted.

Meanwhile, Lady Weide and her two brothers rode alongside on horseback, watching the scene with laughter and conversation. Huolmo's family didn't have any real experts. With Huolmo dead, the family was simply a piece of meat waiting to be slaughtered.

The door slowly opened.

"Gentlemen, what brings you here so late at night?" A middle-aged man, disheveled, ran out; he too had just gotten out of bed.

"Earl." The middle-aged man's heart skipped a beat when he suddenly saw Lady Weide.

Lady Weide coldly stated, "It has been confirmed that Huolmo is suspected of assassinating the city lord's heir, ' Keane.' All members of the Huolmo family are now imprisoned, and all family assets have been confiscated."

Upon hearing this, the middle-aged man's legs went weak, and he involuntarily knelt down.

"No, Earl," the middle-aged man quickly said, "My grandfather was invited by your two brothers."

"Slandering a nobleman is an even greater crime; kill him." Lady Weide's face turned cold.

The leading knight suddenly spun his lance, like a giant python emerging from its cave, and with a hissing sound, the lance pierced the middle-aged man's throat.

Lady Weide's elder brother, taking advantage of the situation, shouted loudly, "Hurry up!"

The city guards immediately rushed into the mansion like wolves and tigers. This City Guard loved nothing more than raiding other people's homes, because they could secretly pocket some benefits from such raids.

Of course, they didn't dare to take too much themselves, since there were other people around.

"What are you doing? What are you doing!"

One by one, women and men, disheveled and in disarray, rushed out, shouting loudly. Some of the mansion's guards also drew their weapons, but none of them dared to lay a hand on the enemy.

Because they could tell that the people in front of them were City Guard.

How dare the mansion's private guards fight against the City Guard guards?

"Huolmo is suspected of assassinating Young Master Keane. Arrest the entire Huolmo family. Anyone who resists will be killed." The leading knight said coldly. The people in the Huolmo mansion were all dumbfounded when they heard these orders.

Faced with the fierce City Guard, they were all helplessly captured one by one.

However, many who refused to surrender fled immediately, and the City Guard gave chase.

"That bitch Weide," an old man with gray hair said, "She was the one who asked Grandpa to come, but now that Grandpa's dead, she actually came to ransack the house. She's truly vicious."

The old man with gray hair walked out of the secret room, with three Magic Crystal Card tucked into his arms.

Huolmo was over three hundred years old. Of his many sons, only two were still alive; the others had all died of old age. These two sons were relatively young. His grandsons ranged in age from over two hundred to only thirty-something.

"Halt!" Suddenly, a City Guard saw the old man.

The old man waved his hand and sprinkled a handful of powder.

"Ugh." The City Guard's face instantly turned purplish-brown. He clutched his throat repeatedly, groaning in pain, and collapsed to the ground dead in just a few moments.

The old man sneered and nimbly fled along the path.

"Halt!" A loud shout came from afar.

The old man completely ignored him and instead moved even faster.

"Whoosh." An arrow streaked across the sky with astonishing speed, piercing the old man's back with a sharp whistling sound.

The handsome blond knight lowered his bow and arrow, and sneered, "Trying to escape? Dream on. Search him for Magic Crystal Card."

"Yes, sir."

Not only was the mansion filled with City Guard, but several layers of people surrounded it as well. No one from the Huolmo family was able to escape. Although some members of the family knew something about poisons, they were far inferior to Huolmo in terms of ability.

Inside the Huolmo family's inner hall.

Lady Weide and her two brothers were looking at the many treasures and some Magic Crystal Card in front of them.

"That old man, he's really good at accumulating wealth," Lady Weide's elder brother said, his eyes gleaming.

Lady Weide smiled faintly and said, "You two shouldn't be greedy for this little bit now. Once you've taken control of the county, the wealth will be endless."

Meanwhile, in the night sky above Huolmo's mansion...

Lin Feng stood in mid-air, looking down at the chaotic scene of the ransacking below.

In the quiet night, the shouts and screams of the Huolmo family grew even clearer and more piercing. The sounds carried far and wide, even reaching Jenny and Keane, who lived in the castle.

"What's wrong?"

Keane ran out in his bathrobe, and Jenny ran out with her hair disheveled. The two siblings exchanged a puzzled look and headed straight for the castle gate. Meanwhile, the extremely vigilant old servant Lambert was already at the castle gate.

"The lady has ordered that we must not leave the castle at night."

The two castle guards crossed their spears and spoke coldly to Lambert.

"What's going on? You two, get out of the way!" Keane snapped.

The two guards exchanged a glance when they saw Jenny and Keane approaching. Everyone in the castle knew that Keane was the heir to the lord's estate, but they also understood that Lady Weide wouldn't easily relinquish power.

"Young Master Keane, Miss Jenny, I'm sorry. Madam has ordered that you are not to leave the castle at night. You should go back and rest." One of the tall guards said.

Keane's face turned cold. "Get out of the way."

The tall guard still refused to yield, pleading painfully, "Young Master Keane, please don't make things difficult for us. You're forcing us to our deaths. We really can't disobey the Madam's orders."

Keane felt a surge of anger.

Jenny, standing nearby, advised, "Alright, Keane, don't make things difficult for them. They're quite pitiful too."

"Jenny, Miss Jenny, Jenny, Miss Jenny," the two guards said hastily, feeling grateful to Jenny as well. Jenny looked like a holy angel, and her heart was just as kind.
