Kiana glanced at Bronya on the ground. Good grief, she'd swung straight at the back of her head. Wasn't she afraid of killing her with one blow?
"It's fine. I think Duck's body is sturdy enough, only a little weaker than the headmistress's. You can't beat her to death with a stick."
Mo Wang said this.
"Really? No, wait! Even so, you can't hit someone in the back of the head, can you?" Kiana complained.
"What do you know? This is called striking a vital point, understand?"
"As they say: strike the throat above, strike the groin below; hit both ribs and the center; beneath the nose joins the eye-sealing point; one palm to the back of the head strikes the true soul."
"This is recorded in martial arts manuals too."
Mo Wang explained to Kiana with a completely serious expression.
"What even is all that? I don't understand any of it, okay?"
Faced with Mo Wang's strange nonsense, Kiana said she was a foreigner and had never heard of any of it.
What did this weird Chinese even mean?
Let's speak English.jpg
"Forget all that nonsense for now. Shouldn't we be taking them and running? Can't you see Mei's already lying on the ground?"
Mo Wang smacked Kiana on the back of the head and pointed at Mei, who had been sprawled on the ground for who knew how long.
"Oh right! Taking Mei and leaving should come first..."
Kiana had barely started speaking when Bronya, lying on the ground beside them, suddenly stood up like a zombie.
Those blood-red eyes seemed even redder than before.
Well, if not for the tears at the corners of her eyes, she really would have looked pretty terrifying.
"See? I told you that blow couldn't possibly have killed her." Seeing Bronya stand up, Mo Wang even called out to Kiana.
"Is that what matters right now? Can't you see she's already brought out the Italian Cannon?!"
As she spoke, Kiana grabbed Mei beside her and took off running.
A massive cannon appeared above Bronya's head. She clearly intended to blast Mo Wang, the guy who had hit her in the back of the head, into pieces.
"Holy crap, that firepower's insane. Why wasn't this character like this in my game? You dogshit developers! Nerfing characters again, huh?!"
"Rumble!"
This time, the overwhelming firepower covered the entire deck of the Moonlight Throne.
At the critical moment, Kiana successfully used Time Fracture to bring Mei to safety.
"Mo Wang... he didn't die just like that, did he?"
After setting Mei down, Kiana immediately ran toward Mo Wang.
Seeing the area filled with smoke and dust, Kiana's heart leaped into her throat.
"Cough, cough! Mo Wang, are you okay?!"
Kiana shouted into the smoke.
Then, a golden light flickered faintly ahead.
"What's that?"
As the dust began to clear, Mo Wang could be seen hiding behind a projected Judah.
"Whew, that was close. Almost bit the dust. Good thing I was a step ahead."
Mo Wang patted himself down as he spoke.
Though he didn't look like he had nearly died at all.
"Holy shit, Judah?!" Seeing the enormous cross in front of Mo Wang, Kiana stared at him in disbelief.
"You're dead! You actually stole Judah! Auntie's going to kill you!"
"Cut it out." Mo Wang shoved Kiana aside.
"How could I possibly steal Judah? This is a replica, a replica, okay?"
"A replica?" Kiana looked strangely at the gleaming golden Judah.
It wasn't as if she had never seen so-called replica Judahs before, but no matter which one it was, they had looked nowhere near as impressive as this.
And Mo Wang was saying this was a replica?
What kind of replica could withstand Duck's cannon?
"Heh, you saw through it. Actually, let me tell you something: every Divine Key comes in a pair. The one Theresa has is the female one, and mine is the male one. Mine's actually easier to use, you know?"
Mo Wang spoke to Kiana in a mysterious tone.
"What male and female? You really were lying to me, weren't you?!"
Kiana gritted her teeth. Did this guy really think she had never heard of Journey to the West?
"Oh? You figured out I was lying? We haven't seen each other for a few hours, and your IQ's actually gone up? What medicine did you take?"
"Get lost! Crap, Bronya's coming again!"
Just as Kiana was bickering with Mo Wang, Bronya, her eyes red, launched another attack.
This time, she apparently realized her long-range attacks weren't very useful. Duck directly summoned Project Bunny and prepared to fight at close range.
"Move aside, let me handle it! This time, it's about time Duck became Beijing roast duck."
Mo Wang shoved Kiana behind him and revealed the bloodthirsty grin unique to a Magnetic Field Maniac.
"Huh? Hey! What are you even talking about?" Kiana couldn't quite process Mo Wang's words. What was any of this supposed to mean?
"Take this! Ultimate Ghost Sword Technique! Storm Style!"
However, Mo Wang did not answer Kiana. A faintly glowing energy greatsword suddenly appeared in his hand. The blade glinted coldly beneath the sunlight, tracing a graceful arc with Mo Wang's movement before cleaving straight toward Project Bunny's arm.
"Clang!" A crisp metallic collision rang out as the blade struck Project Bunny's armor, producing a deafening echo. The force was so great that Mo Wang's sword was instantly knocked flying.
Yet there was no panic on his face. Another Miao Dao appeared in his hand, and without the slightest pause, he slashed fiercely toward Bronya.
"Projection! Miao Dao: Electric Soul!" he roared. Golden electricity wrapped around the blade as it slashed toward Bronya's armor like lightning. The instant it made contact, dazzling sparks erupted. Bronya was forced back several steps, and a hint of solemnity unexpectedly appeared on her emotionless face.
But Mo Wang did not stop. He tossed away the blade in his hand, and another greatsword appeared in an instant. "Projection! Heavy Sword: King Snake!" The green blade came crashing down like a giant python, striking Bronya's armor heavily and forcing her back once more with its powerful impact.
As the battle intensified, more and more blades appeared around Mo Wang. Alloy Betrayer, Hybrid Greatsword Type 16, Crystal Reverse Blade, Energy Absorption Katana... weapons sprang up in his hands like mushrooms after rain. Each was projected in an instant and sent relentlessly at Bronya.
Faced with such frequent attacks, Bronya was driven back step by step, cracks continuously spreading across her black armor.
"Final strike!"
Facing Bronya, who had already revealed an opening, Mo Wang produced a greatsword wreathed in blazing flames.
"That is..." Kiana, standing nearby, was now completely speechless.
That sword was clearly the weapon used by her awful dad—the Heavenly Fire Greatsword!
"Try this! I'm launching one badass attack!"
The Heavenly Fire Greatsword, wrapped in blazing flames, came crashing down toward Bronya.
"Boom!"
With yet another explosion, Bronya's black armor finally shattered completely.
Her corrupted state had been forcibly beaten back this time.
"Tch, so I still can't project this thing yet."
Mo Wang looked at the Heavenly Fire Greatsword that had already dissipated from his hand and spoke with dissatisfaction.
Normally, with the Heavenly Fire Greatsword's true power, forget the Moonlight Throne—even the city below would probably have been destroyed.
Unfortunately, with his current mana, he simply could not project such a ridiculously powerful attack.
Still, Mo Wang was not disappointed.
If he had really brought out the Heavenly Fire Greatsword, he probably wouldn't have been able to keep his own hands.
"Oh, right. I almost forgot this."
Mo Wang took out his phone and snapped a picture of himself with the fallen Duck.
"Hehe, I'm saving this photo. I can use it to threaten the rich lady into working for me later."
Looking at the photo in his hand, Mo Wang let out a sinister laugh.
Mo Wang, Go Take Out Lev
"Mo Wang, are you really Mo Wang? Since when did you become this powerful?"
Kiana looked at Mo Wang and touched him here and there, as if she thought someone had impersonated him.
"Hey, quit it. Other than your Captain, who else could have such a handsome face?" Mo Wang pushed away Kiana's grabby hands.
"Pah! Shameless bastard." Kiana glared at Mo Wang, her eyes seeming to say: Doggy, since when did you become this powerful?
"Alright, alright. If we calculate the time, the Honored Immortal should have finished over there too. Let's take Duck and Mei and leave quickly."
"Let the headmistress worry about this ship."
As he spoke, Mo Wang hoisted Bronya onto his shoulder.
Anyone who didn't know better would have thought some mountain bandit king had come to snatch away his bandit bride.
"Huh? The class monitor came too? Where is she?"
Kiana looked around in confusion, but she could not see Fu Hua anywhere.
"Bang!"
At that moment, the wall behind them was suddenly blasted through.
A battered, broken Titan Mech flew straight in front of the two of them.
Fu Hua then walked out through the hole with a relaxed expression.
"Looks like you've already handled it. Well done. I was dealing with some trash over there, so it took a little time. My apologies."
The two of them stared at Fu Hua with dumbfounded expressions.
"Can a Titan Mech really be smashed to pieces like this?"
Kiana glanced at the Titan Mech that had fallen beside her.
It now looked like a figurine that had been mangled by a brat during the New Year.
It was shattered beyond recognition.
This was a Titan Mech, known by Valkyries as Titan Dad!
The kind of thing that could smash a Valkyrie to pieces with one punch!
And their class monitor had dismantled it barehanded just like that?
Meanwhile, Mo Wang silently looked at the huge pile of Titan Mechs behind Fu Hua.
He truly had not expected that, in only a few minutes, the Honored Immortal would have dismantled that entire group of mechs.
Was this why the Honored Immortal truly deserved her title?
Even with her memories gone, she was still this fierce.
The two of them silently decided that no matter what happened in the future, they would never make Fu Hua angry.
After Mo Wang and Kiana brought the injured Mei and Bronya back to St. Freya, things indeed became much easier.
For Mo Wang, although he had exposed some of his strength this time,
it was fortunate that because of this incident, the people aboard the Hyperion—or at least the Valkyries—now temporarily regarded him as their Captain.
He no longer had to worry about being casually thrown out as cannon fodder someday.
Just as some important figure had once said, only strength could earn everyone's respect.
Only with strength would one have the opportunity to make choices.
The Slacker King of Hyperion: Finally finished the first chapter of the main story. It nearly wore me out. I didn't expect that shit-stirrer to hit this hard in the very first chapter.
The Blonde from Teyvat: This counts as difficult? Be thankful they didn't make you slay a dragon right from the start.
