Roman spoke somewhat awkwardly at this moment.
"Huh?"
However, upon hearing that, Mo Wang immediately revealed a look of disdain.
"I'm saying, Doctor, you want an underachiever who nearly failed his exams, plus a Demi-Servant who can't even figure out her own Noble Phantasm, to find the Ley Lines in this destroyed city?"
"More or less." Roman stared blankly at Mo Wang, feeling as though this guy was about to pull something weird again.
"Haha, I'm not going."
Mo Wang sat directly on the ground, making it clear that whoever wanted to go could go. He was done trying!
PS: During New Year's, I always randomly fall asleep. I woke up halfway through and suddenly remembered that I apparently hadn't written anything yet. (cry)1
Watch closely, Mashu—this is how Projection Magic is used!
"Senpai, this isn't the time to throw a tantrum."
Mashu immediately grew anxious when she saw Mo Wang sit down on the ground again.
It was a little embarrassing to say, but they genuinely needed Mo Wang's strength right now.
"That's right, Mo Wang. Even if you want to slack off, you can wait until we get back, can't you? The urgent thing now is to deal with business first." Dr. Roman quickly joined in to persuade him.
But after hearing that, Mo Wang did not regain any fighting spirit. Instead, he let out a bored yawn.
"Mo Wang, the situation is extremely dire. If we can't return, it may very well lead to the Destruction of the world. The responsibility of saving the world can only fall upon you now."
"As Chaldea's Master, don't you have even the slightest desire to save the world?"
"Yes, yes, Dr. Roman. What you said is right, but don't you think that's asking a little too much? You expect just the two of us to save the world? There's no hope in sight at all."
"Besides, that's way too much to say. At Chaldea, I'm just collecting a dead-end paycheck. Normally, no one even thinks of me. Then all of a sudden, you tell me I have to save the world. Forgive me if I can't switch gears that quickly."
Simply put, Mo Wang meant that he was normally just some nobody whom no one cared about, but the moment something happened, everyone suddenly remembered him.
It was like being nothing more than a salary thief at the company every day, only for everyone to suddenly ask you one day to bear the fate of saving the company.
Impossible. Couldn't do it. Wanted to quit.
There was no way that made sense, right?
"Doctor, what do we do now?" Mashu looked at Roman.
Mo Wang had completely lost all motivation. They couldn't possibly send her out alone, could they?
"Looks like we can only use this move."
Roman fell silent in thought, with no panic whatsoever on his face.
Roman had long prepared for an unmotivated Mo Wang.
He slowly spoke to Mo Wang. "Ahem, Mo Wang, actually, the Director is in this world too. If you don't go help her, the Director might be in danger~"
The moment Roman mentioned Director Olga, Mo Wang, who had been yawning, suddenly froze.
"Just think about it. The Director is a girl, walking around alone in a place like this. Who knows what kind of danger she might run into?"
As Dr. Roman continued, Mo Wang finally rose from the ground.
After letting out a listless sigh, he turned to Roman with a disgusted expression. "Doctor, isn't it a little too much to use the Director every single time?"
Although Mo Wang still looked thoroughly annoyed, he had finally regained a little motivation.
"Dr. Roman! Senpai really got motivated?! Amazing!" When Mashu saw Mo Wang finally stand up, she looked at Dr. Roman in astonishment.
Why had Mo Wang suddenly gotten up just because Dr. Roman mentioned the Director?
Roman, meanwhile, revealed a smug smile upon seeing Mo Wang rise.
Everyone in Chaldea knew that while Mo Wang was extremely unreliable, he was also an ultimate slacker. It was difficult to get him motivated to do anything.
Unlike Mo Wang from Honkai, FGO Mo Wang had no interest in most things and held a pessimistic attitude toward everything.
That was also related to his Path of Nihility to some extent.
Whether it was attending classes or carrying out missions, Mo Wang generally avoided everything he could.
Most of the time, no one had any good solution for his personality.
But Roman knew that as long as one person was mentioned, Mo Wang would take action no matter how unmotivated he was.
That person was Chaldea's Director, Olga Marie.
Roman did not know why that was.
But Roman knew that if he wanted Mo Wang to do something, he only needed to mention the Director's name.
And now was the perfect time.
"Fine, then let's go find the Director first."
Mo Wang dusted off his backside and spoke to Mashu beside him.
"Yes, Senpai!" Mashu immediately replied upon hearing Mo Wang's words.
But then Mashu asked in confusion, "But where should we go to find the Director?"
"Well..."
Mo Wang recalled the plot and thought carefully. In the original story, the protagonist found the Director while on the way to search for the Ley Lines.
But the problem was that so much time had passed since the prologue that he could not remember which Ley Line they had been looking for.
"Don't rush, don't panic. Let me think."
Mo Wang kept digging through all the FGO plot details in his head.
But for some reason, every Fate-related thing that came to mind was strange doujinshi.
"Tch, why do all these irrelevant things pop up exactly when I need them?"
Mo Wang truly wished his Path was Remembrance instead of Nihility.
Otherwise, he would not have to reread all that doujinshi...
"Oh! I remember now. Fuyuki City seems to have four Ley Lines in total."
After thinking it over carefully, Mo Wang suddenly recalled seeing this before when he had looked up Fate lore.
Fuyuki City's four major Ley Lines were located at Ryuudou Temple, The Church, the Tohsaka Estate, and the New City.
Ryuudou Temple's was the best, followed by the Tohsaka Estate, then The Church, with the New City's being the worst.
So they only needed to head for the nearest Ley Line, and they should run into the Director.
"Doctor, do you have a map? Send me a map of Fuyuki City."
"It's already been sent to your phone. The closest location should be the Tohsaka Estate..."
It had to be said that although Dr. Roman was also a slacker by nature, he was quite reliable at times like this.
Incidentally, it was impressive that Chaldea's phones still had a signal in a Singularity like this.
"Senpai, the Tohsaka Estate is only about five kilometers away. We should arrive quickly, so we should hurry and head—"
Just as Mashu looked at the location on the map and prepared to urge Mo Wang to leave quickly, she never expected him to pull out a... Motorcycle from somewhere.
"What are you looking at? I just projected it!"
Mo Wang pointed at the seat behind him, then spoke to the still-dazed Mashu.
Mashu, however, felt a headache coming on.
Wait, Projection Magic could be used like that?
PS: The moment I woke up, I had to go pay New Year's visits. Now I don't even have time to write updates. (cry~)
Picked Up a Weak, Pitiful, Helpless Director
"Ah! Why is this happening?! What the hell is going on?!"
In a corner of burning Fuyuki City, a white-haired girl was running wildly down the street.
Sweat dripped down the girl's forehead and fell to the ground.
Though she was already panting heavily from exhaustion, she continued to run and let out a hoarse cry, like a shout of youth. Total lie.
Behind her, several skeleton soldiers wielding worn blades were also doing their best to chase after her, cheering her on.
If Mo Wang had been here, seeing the white-haired girl running with all her might, he probably would not have been able to stop himself from sighing. This was what they called youth.
But Olga Marie certainly did not see it that way.
After running for roughly half an hour straight, she was now so exhausted that she could barely breathe.
"Finally... finally got away from those guys."
After twisting and turning through countless streets, Olga Marie collapsed onto the ground, nearly too exhausted to move.
Heavens have mercy, when had Olga Marie, a mage from a prestigious family, ever run for so long?
She had clearly only taken part in an entirely ordinary experiment. She did not know why she had suddenly been brought to this awful city.
If that were all, it would have been one thing, but the problem was that the moment she arrived, more than thirty skeletons started chasing her.
Olga Marie had never suffered such humiliation in her life.
"Why is this happening?! What kind of horrible place is this?!"
Olga Marie crouched on the ground, looking weak, pitiful, and helpless.
Director Olga, whose heart was already quite fragile, hugged her knees and looked as though she was about to shut herself off from the world.
Even now, she still had not figured out what exactly was happening.
"Lev, Roman, and... Mo Wang. Where the hell are you guys?"
As Director Olga spiraled into despair, she began to miss the people who were so important to her.
Even Mo Wang was among them.
Perhaps only at a time like this did she realize just how fragile she truly was.
"Grah! Grah!"
Just then, the sound of Dragon Tooth Soldiers reached Olga Marie's ears again.
"You've got to be kidding me?! Again?!"
Olga Marie forced herself up from the ground on trembling legs, fury and fear in her eyes.
"Have these Dragon Tooth Soldiers gone insane?! They've chased me for three miles already, and they still won't let me go? What do I even have on me?! Why do they keep chasing me?!"
Olga Marie was nearly breaking down.
What kind of mage had to run three miles without using magecraft, then keep running afterward? This was not some marathon training!
As she watched several Dragon Tooth Soldiers approach again in the distance, Olga Marie even had the urge to simply blow herself up along with them.
"Vroom! Vroom!"
Just then, the roar of a Motorcycle engine reached Olga Marie's ears once more.
"A Motorcycle? Someone is riding one of those in this hellhole?"
Olga Marie blankly looked toward the source of the sound.
A strange Motorcycle was speeding toward her at a pace faster than even a Ghostfire punk.
Incidentally, there seemed to be an enormous shield strapped to the back of the Motorcycle...
"What kind of weird thing is that?" Olga Marie's mind instantly crashed.
The Motorcycle charging down the street barreled forward with unstoppable force. A group of skeleton soldiers tried to block it, only to be smashed to pieces in the next instant.
One of the flying bones even shot through the air at high speed, grazing past Olga Marie's face before embedding itself in the ground beside her.
Startled by the high-speed bone, Olga Marie stared blankly at the rapidly approaching Motorcycle, her expression growing increasingly terrified.
"N-No way?! That Motorcycle looks like it's coming straight at me?!"
Olga Marie wanted to run, but discovered that her legs had gone weak and would not move.
And the Motorcycle was not slowing down in the slightest.
