History

Mashu became Chaldea’s sixth Demi-Servant experiment after accepting a Heroic Spirit’s Holy Core. The spirit entrusted its combat abilities to her before disappearing, leaving Mashu to wield its power herself. At this early stage, her Servant strength remained dependent on having a Master present. 25

Upon arriving in ruined Fuyuki City with Mo Wang, Mashu initially tried to fulfill the conventional role of protecting her Master. Instead, Mo Wang repeatedly charged ahead and cleared Dragon Tooth Soldiers himself, leaving her frustrated by their reversed Master–Servant dynamic. 25 28

While advancing toward the Holy Grail, she trained against skeletal enemies, awakened her first Noble Phantasm, and accepted Mo Wang’s mana enhancement without hesitation. The experience gave her greater confidence despite her initial uncertainty about fighting other Servants. 31 32

Appearance

Mashu carries a cross-shaped shield larger than her own body and wears armor formed from magecraft. The armor leaves her shoulders and thighs uncovered; she is noted for her purple eyes. 25 663

Personality

Mashu is dutiful, protective, and noticeably more grounded than many of the people around her. She worries about mission priorities, civilian safety, and Mo Wang’s habit of turning dangerous situations into bizarre events, such as a public dragon-slaying tournament and cooking contest. 28 157

Although she is often embarrassed by Mo Wang’s praise and head pats, she trusts him deeply and regards him as Chaldea’s essential hope. Her concern becomes especially clear whenever his power or emotional state appears unstable. 31 155 156

Her patience has limits. After Mo Wang disappears without warning, she reunites with him by striking him in the face with her shield and angrily demanding an explanation. 757

Mashu arrives in Fuyuki with Mo Wang after becoming a Demi-Servant. She attempts to protect him from Dragon Tooth Soldiers, but repeatedly watches him overwhelm enemies himself. During the journey to the Holy Grail, she unlocks her Noble Phantasm and receives a major mana enhancement. 25 31 32

Orleans and the Dragon-Slaying Festival

Mashu is unsettled when Mo Wang turns the defeat of Fafnir into a citywide dragon-slaying festival and dragon-meat cooking contest. She ultimately sees the hope the event gives the people, even while wishing her Senpai would behave more normally. 157 159

Chaldea Transfer Incident

When Mo Wang is away from Chaldea, several female Servants restrain Mashu in the Spiritron Transfer Room to prevent her from reaching him first. Mashu struggles desperately to escape. 551

Camelot and the Holy City

Mashu accompanies Mo Wang’s group through the desert, analyzes the scale of Ozymandias’s temple, and defends the party against a sudden Servant attack. She becomes angry when Lancelot calls her his daughter and later watches the group intervene against the Holy City’s massacre-like Selection. 641 647 651

Uruk and the Parallel Chaldea Encounter

Mashu meets an alternate version of herself in Uruk and learns that the other Chaldea’s Master–Servant dynamic is similarly reversed, with Mo Wang personally fighting major enemies while Servants handle lesser threats. 751 752

She reunites with Mo Wang by attacking him with her shield after he vanishes again, then helps defend Uruk against threats including Gugalanna and Gorgon. 757 758 767
