Chapter 672: Gilgamesh the Wise King: I Asked for Mowang-What's This Gudako Doing Here? (Continued)
Inside the royal palace, Gilgamesh looked coldly at the sweat-drenched Merlin before him. "Merlin, do you have anything to say for yourself now?"
Facing the King of Uruk, Merlin took a deep breath and finally said, "No need for further words. Please, make it quick."
"You want me to do it, is that it?" An axe had appeared in Gilgamesh's hand.
"Take this!" Gilgamesh roared, swinging the axe at Merlin's forehead with a gust of wind.
Merlin's face went pale with fright. He quickly clasped his hands together with a smack and caught the blade barehanded, yelling, "Hey, hey, hey! You're seriously doing this?!"
"Of course!" Gilgamesh gritted his teeth and put more force into his hands. "Nothing short of splitting you in half will ease my hatred! Tell me, what use are you even? Keeping you around is just wasting Uruk's food!"
Feeling the axe blade press closer, Merlin hurriedly begged, "No, no, no! I was wrong! I don't want to die yet! Even if I have no merit, I've at least worked hard, haven't I?!"
"Worked hard?" Gilgamesh laughed in anger. "Fine, then tell me about this hard work! Where is the Mo Wang you swore up and down you would bring? Where is he? Did he fly off somewhere?!"
Merlin looked utterly aggrieved. "How is that my fault?! I'm confused too! Who knew someone could intercept him even after everything had been arranged? This generation of enemies has no sense of fair play!"
His eyes darted, and he quickly changed the subject. "But! I did bring you Chaldea's Master! Mashu came along as a package deal too! That much is right, isn't it?!"
Gilgamesh loosened his grip, looking baffled. "Chaldea's Master? What are you talking about?"
Taking the opportunity, Merlin let go and wiped away his sweat.
