Then, under Ai-chan's dumbfounded gaze, he jumped straight off the battleship.
"Just as I thought! The Hunt has to look cool!"
"Gaia!!!!!"
Meanwhile, Canghai City's streets were filled with smoke and thunderous cannon fire. Honkai Beasts, Valkyries, and Titan Mechs—three factions—were locked in a brutal melee throughout the city.
A massive Honkai Beast wandered through the city's ruins. Enormous in size, its white hide glinted with an eerie sheen beneath the sunlight. Every step it took shook the ground, while the surrounding buildings continually collapsed beneath its oppressive presence.
In the distance, a gigantic Titan Mech slowly advanced, its vicious single eye already having spotted the Honkai Beast. Red light flashed within that eye, and it raised its enormous fist, smashing it viciously toward the Honkai Beast amid the heavy roar of machinery. As the fist swung, the air itself seemed to tear apart.
Immediately afterward, hundreds of missiles launched from another mech's shoulders, streaking across the sky toward the Honkai Beast. In an instant, an entire street was blanketed by the Titan's excessive firepower.
On one side were the Honkai Beasts, who currently held an absolute advantage in numbers within this city.
On the other were Anti-Entropy's forces, who possessed an absolute advantage in firepower.
By comparison, the Valkyries were the side that could gain nothing from either of them.
In fact, both sides had unconsciously ignored the Valkyries hiding in the ruins nearby.
"Tch. I didn't expect not only the Honkai Beasts, but even Anti-Entropy's people to get involved. This is going to be difficult."
Watching the battle outside, Himeko could not help but sigh.
Behind her, the members of the First and Second Squads were huddled together.
Their Valkyrie armor had all become tattered and battered.
Several Valkyries had already fallen unconscious from severe injuries.
A few psychologically fragile female students were curled up to one side, sobbing softly.
Himeko took in the sight of her students. Though helpless, she could also understand them.
After all, these children were only fifteen- or sixteen-year-old girls.
Expecting them to suddenly become fearless like real soldiers was simply impossible.
Under normal circumstances, Himeko might have offered them some comfort and guidance.
But the current situation clearly did not allow for that.
"Cough, cough, cough!"
Himeko suddenly coughed several times.
Along with the coughing, a trace of blood dribbled from her mouth.
"Teacher Himeko, are you all right?"
Fu Hua hurried over to Himeko's side and asked.
"I'm fine. I just overexerted myself a little earlier." Himeko waved a hand, then asked Fu Hua, "How is it? Have you managed to contact the Hyperion?"
"No. The communications equipment is still shut down. I'm afraid the enemy has disabled communications throughout all of Canghai City."
Fu Hua spoke in a low voice.
She, too, could see that their current situation was far from optimistic.
"Teacher Himeko, what should we do now?" A girl wearing damaged armor asked Himeko through her tears.
"It's all right. The principal has probably already discovered that something happened to us. If nothing unexpected occurs, reinforcements should arrive soon."
Himeko endured her physical discomfort and comforted the girl.
"Will there really be reinforcements?" However, the girl clearly did not trust Himeko's words.
After all, they had all heard the conversation just now. Could the principal really make it here under these circumstances?
BOOM!
At that moment, the ruins where the Valkyries were hiding were suddenly overturned by some colossal thing.
An orange Titan Mech appeared before the Valkyries, its enormous single eye emitting a terrifying crimson glow.
"Fu Hua! Take them and leave, now! I'll hold this thing off!"
The instant Himeko saw the Titan Mech, she issued the order to Fu Hua.
"Major Himeko!" Watching Himeko force herself to stand firm so she could cover the Valkyries' retreat, Fu Hua could not help wanting to reveal her true strength and eliminate the enemy before them.
Yet at that very moment, her gaze involuntarily lifted toward the sky.
A meteor radiating crimson light was growing larger and larger as it headed in their direction.
"You can see meteors at a time like this?"
"Wait, isn't that meteor getting bigger?"
"Why do I feel like that meteor is flying straight toward us?"
In the span of a dozen seconds, the Valkyries' expressions gradually shifted from curiosity to terror.
"Everyone, run!"
Himeko no longer talked about staying behind to cover the retreat. She immediately shouted for everyone to fall back.
Meanwhile, the orange Titan stared up at the crimson meteor overhead with its enormous single eye, utterly baffled.
Boom!
As the meteor fell, it smashed straight through the Titan Mech, blasting a massive hole through it on the spot.
Yet strangely, after piercing through the Titan and hitting the ground, the meteor did not cause any huge explosion. Instead, it bounced across the ground a few times before crashing straight into the ruins.
"What... is going on?"
Himeko looked at the sky in confusion, then at the ruins nearby.
How had a meteor suddenly fallen out of nowhere?
"Um, Instructor Himeko, I don't think that was a meteor just now." Fu Hua's expression had stiffened somewhat as she spoke to Himeko.
"Not a meteor? Then what was it?"
As Himeko spoke, she looked toward the ruins beside them.
The Valkyries' expressions gradually became strange as well.
Smack!
A hand suddenly stretched straight out from the rubble.
The scene rather resembled a zombie hand from Plants vs. Zombies.
"Ptooey, ptooey! Damn it! What the hell did I hit just now? That actually hurt."
A young man in white crawled out from the rubble, grumbling and cursing.
"I never expected jumping down to be this exciting. No wonder so many people like bungee jumping."
As Mo Wang straightened his clothes, he looked to the side.
His gaze met the Valkyries', whose expressions had turned exceedingly bizarre.
"Yo, my dear Valkyries, your reinforcements have arrived!" Mo Wang said, giving them a thumbs-up.
He completely failed to notice the utterly strange looks on their faces.
"Mo... Mo Wang?!"

"Mo... Mo Wang?!"
Upon seeing the person who had fallen from the sky, the Valkyries felt as though their brains had suddenly been loaded with 360 Security Suite, Kingsoft Antivirus, Master Lu, Driver Genius, 2345 Navigation, Kuaiya Game Box, and a whole series of other software.
They froze on the spot.
"Is that Mo Wang?"
"I-I think so?"
"Where did he come from?"
"Probably from the Hyperion?"
"What about his equipment? He just jumped down like that?"
The Valkyries whispered among themselves as they stared at Mo Wang, who had already climbed out of the crater.
"Major Himeko! Thank goodness, communications have finally been restored."
At that moment, the transmission from the Hyperion was finally restored.
Second Lieutenant Meng Ya's voice sounded especially urgent over the comms.
"Major Himeko! The Captain just jumped straight off the Hyperion! And he didn't bring any equipment with him. Right now—"
"N-No need to panic. I can already see him. He's completely fine—if anything, he's a little too lively."
Listening to her adjutant, Himeko rubbed her forehead with a headache.
Their Captain, an ordinary person, had jumped from an altitude of over three thousand meters.
And he was fine. He had even smashed through a Titan Mech on the way down?
He was now casually chatting with the Valkyries.
And they wanted her to believe he was an ordinary person? Someone with only D-rank Honkai energy adaptability?
"Alright, Mo Wang. Let's put aside how you got down here for now. Tell me, why did you leave the battleship?"
Himeko shoved aside the pile of bizarre complaints in her mind, grabbed Mo Wang by the back of his neck, and pulled him over.
"Cough, cough. I almost forgot about the important matter. Instructor Himeko, there's no time to deal with the Honkai Beasts here anymore. Anti-Entropy's real target is Mei! If we don't get there soon, Mei will be captured and used as a battery!"
"Mei? The Third Herrscher!" After exchanging a glance, Himeko and Fu Hua immediately understood what Mo Wang meant.
"How did you discover that?" Himeko was puzzled. Why had Mo Wang been able to see through it?
"Isn't it obvious? It looks like these mech units split into five groups, but the ones that came here are all ordinary mechs. There aren't even many white ones among them. Unless Anti-Entropy's commander has something wrong with his brain, they must have moved most of their elite forces somewhere else."
At that moment, Mo Wang pointed at the massive warship in the sky. At some point, the deck of the Moonlight Throne had become completely packed with Titan Mechs.
"So it really is... Mo Wang, what's your plan now?" Himeko thought for a moment and decided to hear what Mo Wang had in mind.
After all, that guy was full of tricks. Since he had dared to come down from up there, he surely already had a way to deal with this.
Yet who could have expected Mo Wang to simply spread his hands and say, "A plan? There's no such thing? Actually, I was planning to find you guys, then lead everyone straight up there to rescue those three. Why would we need something like a plan?"
"Huh?"
With Mo Wang saying that, the Valkyries present were even more dumbfounded.
They were going to fight Titan Mechs? Seriously?
"Mo Wang, are you sure you didn't get your plan wrong?" Himeko looked at the heavily injured Valkyries behind her. Was this supposed to be reinforcements? It was more like sending them to their deaths.
"Oh, I misspoke. After sending them back to the warship, the Honored Immortal and I will go provide support."
"That's not much better, is it?"
Mo Wang's words only made Himeko's already pounding head hurt even worse.
"Calm down, Mo Wang. I know you're in a hurry, but don't rush. Let's return to the warship first and tell the Headmaster what happened. If they really intend to take Mei away, then the three of them shouldn't be in immediate danger."
At that moment, Himeko thought Mo Wang had become overly anxious because he was worried about Kiana and the other two.
After all, everyone in St. Freya knew that although Mo Wang spent all day fooling around with the three girls, they were incredibly close.
If those three were in danger, Mo Wang would definitely panic.
"Yeah, Mo Wang, don't worry yet. Let's go back and hear what the Headmaster has to say first." Fu Hua began trying to persuade him as well.
As for providing support, she alone would actually be enough.
But if Mo Wang came along... then things would probably get truly difficult.
Just then, drawn by the commotion from Mo Wang's fall, a large wave of Shikigami and Honkai Beasts began converging on them.
"Everyone, be careful! The enemies are coming again!" Seeing this, Himeko swiftly called on the Valkyries who could still fight to ready themselves. Their gazes quickly locked onto the Honkai Beasts closing in from all around, their taut nerves prepared for the battle to come.
