Background / History
The Lingtong Race originated as a branch of secret-realm humans living in an ancient secret realm among fierce beasts and demonic beasts. Their ancestors extracted innate abilities from those creatures, refined them into secret techniques, and eventually developed methods to implant the abilities into human bloodlines for inheritance by later generations. A branch later left the secret realm and settled in the wider universe. 18
Their name comes from the eyes, which serve as the organs that store and manifest their inherited abilities. These powers are not ordinary techniques: each contains a residual ancient will from the beast lineage from which it originated. 18 19
The race developed into a major power in the Yanhe Star System, controlling tens of thousands of life planets, including hundreds devoted to raising and educating children. Its Main Sect controlled 216 surrounding star systems, while branches were established outside the Kasolo Empire to expand the population and recruit exceptional descendants back into the central organization. 1 13 30
The death of the race’s Immortal ancestor Jiuyuan and the collapse of the Jiuyuan Holy Land left the Lingtong Race vulnerable to Yinhu Island and allied Sacred Lands. Kasolo intervened to prevent their immediate destruction, granting their territory a 100,000-year protection decree, but refused their offer of service and did not remove the wider threat. 61
After Jiang Yao was believed dead, the Lingtong Race abandoned isolation and opened its accumulated reserves for war. Its World Lords, armed fleets, weapons, hired Universe-Level slaves, and newly trained experts resisted the Four Sacred Lands at great cost. 83
By the time Jiang Yao became Inspector Envoy of the Xuanshang Branch, the race had been granted a star domain and later relocated its population there, naming it the Lingtong Star Domain. 156 230
Society and Organization
- Socialized upbringing — Children are raised and educated collectively on specialized planets rather than solely within family homes; members leave their home planets upon adulthood at age 30. 1
- Cultivation selection — Lingtong people generally reach Apprentice Level 9 before age 50, but Planetary Level is a decisive threshold. Only those who break through before 25 are normally treated as resource-worthy cultivation seeds. 1
- Spirit Reader preference — Though their physical aptitude is not exceptional among comparable human bloodlines, the race is distinguished by strong spirit power and gives preferential treatment to Spirit Readers. 2 3
- Race-based cohesion — Bloodline inheritance gives the race strong internal loyalty, but long-separated branches often develop independent local identities. 13
- Virtual Universe center — Although the Main Sect occupied a constructed planet and 216 star systems, its true political center was Jiuyuan Holy Land and Jiuyuan City in the Virtual Universe. 30
Bloodline Divine Abilities
Spirit Eye
The Lingtong Race’s inherited abilities are collectively associated with the Spirit Eye. They are activated through the eyes after a Spirit Reader reaches Stellar Level and breaks through a bloodline barrier. 3 15 18
- Each ability carries the residual will of an ancient fierce beast or demonic beast. 18
- Awakening and continued use require mental strength and willpower to suppress that ancient will. 18
- Suppressing the will also accumulates power; releasing it unleashes the stored ability together with the beast will’s force. 18
- Many Lingtong powerhouses keep their eyes closed to reinforce their mental suppression, though this is a control habit rather than an absolute requirement. 19
- Outsiders sometimes call these abilities “Eye Beasts” because they manifest as beast-like phantoms rather than inert techniques. 19
Ability Grades
The race had identified 106 bloodline abilities at its bloodline source. Their grades reflect long-term potential, not immediate Stellar-Level strength. 19
| Grade | Known Types | Potential Ceiling |
|---|---|---|
| Low grade | 64 | Universe Level |
| Middle grade | 34 | Domain Lord Level |
| High grade | 8 | Sector Lord Level |
A powerful ability can allow a Stellar-Level Lingtong genius to fight above their rank, especially when paired with a compatible domain. 25
Notable Abilities
- Jihan Horn — One of the eight supreme/high-grade abilities; regarded as the strongest defensive ability among all 106 known Lingtong bloodline abilities. 28
- Phantom Spirit Beast — The sole illusion-type ability among the eight high-grade abilities; wielded by Kuman. 19
- Burning Hero Beast / Domain of Burning Hero — A fire-attributed high-grade ability whose manifestation resembles a flaming rhinoceros. 19
- Bizhang Shadow — Identified as the ninth top-grade ability after its manifestation in Qianhuo. Its Divine Bird form can destroy implanted biochips and enables perception of Fire and Light Origin Law fluctuations. 177 182
Threats and Persecution
- Longshan Company — Suspected of capturing Lingtong people and using secret techniques to extract the Spirit Eye bloodline from them. 15
- Slave trade — Lingtong people were especially coveted by slave traders because of their bloodline divine abilities; captivity, biochip implantation, and resale were widespread threats. 64
- Yinhu Island — Supported hostile actions against Lingtong branches and was involved in the wider conflict surrounding the race’s captured members and bloodline materials. 28 81
- Blood Source Liquid production — Black Moon God Lord’s slave operation killed Lingtong captives to refine their bodies into Blood Source Liquid; Jiang Yao later rescued more than a million surviving clansmen from the operation. 182
- Targeted assassinations — Even after relocation to the Lingtong Star Domain, external forces sought to eliminate rising Lingtong geniuses such as Qianhuo. 229 230
Relationships
- Jiang Yao — A Lingtong genius who became the race’s central protector and spiritual totem after his rise. His achievements pressured hostile forces to release Lingtong slaves, and he later supplied the race with treasures, mechanical puppets, Moyun Vines, and Xueluo Crystals. 102 159
- Jiuyuan — Fallen Lingtong Immortal ancestor and namesake of the former Jiuyuan Holy Land; possessed Marquis-level combat power before achieving immortality. 35 61
- Kasolo — Ruler of the Kasolo Empire who saved the race from Yinhu Island’s invasion and decreed 100,000 years of territorial protection, though he declined the race’s service. 61
- Yinhu Island — Major enemy connected to the Longshan Company, Lingtong slave raids, and the war against the race. 15 83
- Longshan Company — Regional power implicated in slave trading and suspected bloodline extraction operations against Lingtong captives. 14 15
- Qianhuo — New-generation Lingtong prodigy, wielder of Bizhang Shadow and Jiang Yao’s nominal disciple; successfully fused with a Xueluo Crystal and became a key candidate for the race’s future leadership. 182 231 232
Trivia
- The Lingtong Race’s physical gene level is considered relatively ordinary despite the rarity and versatility of its inherited abilities. 18
- The Lingtong Race is one of only two race-based powers among the Kasolo Empire’s six Sacred Lands. 86
- Jiang Yao and Bizhang’s split soul created the Desolate God Soul Seal for future Lingtong descendants: a bloodline secret technique intended to place a Desolate God image in their souls and guide their comprehension of Origin Laws and fused laws. 165
