Role in the War

Ibuse is the summoning creature from which Hanzō obtains his toxins. With the outbreak of war, Hanzō distributes these toxins among subordinates he trusts, making Ibuse's poison a significant threat to Konoha forces 71.

Konoha later obtains Ibuse's original poison after Hyuga Shuji captures an Amegakure jōnin alive. The sample becomes a key resource in efforts to develop countermeasures against Hanzō's poison 79 152.

Poison

Ibuse's toxin affects the victim's nervous system, distinguishing it from other poisons encountered by Konoha's medical forces 91.
