The first-year little lions were restless, yet desperately tried to stay focused and not give Professor Snape an opportunity to deduct points.

Like the Slytherin students, they kept glancing at Damon, the source of all this turmoil, but with the exact opposite thought—Damon had to be snatched away from them (protected)!

Snape sensed the agitation and unease among the students below. The corner of his mouth curled slightly. "What are you so distracted about? Potions Class has no need for your restless emotions.

"Gryffindor loses ten points for your dreadful state!"

Well, here it began.

Harry and Ron could not help glaring furiously at Snape, while Hermione quietly examined the exposed parts of Snape's body—she wanted to see whether she could find the wound.

"Potter, how dare you look at your professor with such disrespect? Gryffindor loses another ten points."

Watching Harry struggle to suppress his anger, Snape's lips curved in satisfaction. Then he looked at Damon, who had "worked hard" to earn those 150 points, only to have 20 deducted almost immediately.

The curve of his mouth fell.

Damon was merely smiling at him, his gaze carrying an implication Snape could not quite understand. It was as though... an adult were looking at an immature, troublesome child from his own family.

Snape's expression stiffened, and he felt much of his amusement vanish at once.

"Let us begin class!"

Perhaps because Damon had earned 300 points for Gryffindor, Snape found him even more displeasing than before. He was even unwilling to let him "leave early" as he had in the past.

After Damon finished his potion, Snape assigned him another class task and ordered him to complete it before class ended, or else he would deduct a great many points!

"Why the sudden change of heart?"
