Iwagakure launches a surprise attack on Amegakure and declares war on Konoha (parts one and two)

Facing Yahiko, Konan, and Nagato, Natsuki took out a ninja sword.

This ninja sword had been reforged from the Bashōsen, one of the Six Paths Treasured Tools.

In appearance, it was no different from any other ninja sword.

"It's called the Five Elements Sword."

"Aside from being indestructible, it can amplify Five Release Ninjutsu," Natsuki explained.

After speaking, he poured Fire Release chakra into the Five Elements Sword.

The blade suddenly lit up, as though lava were churning inside it.

Natsuki swung it sharply toward the ground.

A blade of flame formed out of thin air and struck the ground, immediately leaving a charred slash mark.

Natsuki then infused the Five Elements Sword with Wind Release chakra.

The blade became translucent.

He swung it toward the ground again.

A sharp wind blade shot out and swept across the ground, carving a deep trench.

"Nagato, this is your New Year's gift."

Natsuki handed the Five Elements Sword to Nagato.

"Thank you, Teacher Natsuki."

Nagato thanked him gratefully.

"It's nothing."

Natsuki smiled and said, "Now all three of you have a ninja tool of your own. That makes it fair."

Given Nagato's strength, having the Five Elements Sword would not make much difference.

In the Ninja World, ninja tools had limited uses. Bloodlines remained the greatest source of power.

And with the Uzumaki Clan's bloodline and Uchiha Madara's Rinnegan, Nagato practically lacked nothing.

That would indeed have been true, if not for Uchiha Madara and Black Zetsu watching him.
