Arrival at the Magic City Craftsman House

In Modu City, a young man walked out of the airport. Beside him were a little girl, a pink-and-blue Qilin half a person tall, and two gorgeous young dragons.

Such an unusual group drew no attention at all.

Travelers carrying bags and all manner of Pet Beasts passed by them calmly without even a second glance, as though they did not exist.

"That's incredible, Little Qilin."

Jiang Xing looked thoroughly amazed.

After the Dragon Gate Assembly, the Rainbow Dragon Cub had completely taken the internet by storm, even becoming popular overseas.

Along with it, Jiang Xing had become a highly promising up-and-coming researcher in the eyes of people across many regions.

Under those circumstances, if Jiang Xing went out openly without any disguise, it would be easy for others to recognize him and make him the center of attention... not to mention that he had the Rainbow Dragon Cub with him.

Yet under the Lucky Cloud Qilin's [Invisibility] skill, their presence had been greatly diminished. They successfully slipped through the crowd, playing at being an "Assassin."

As expected of a Psychic Type Divine Beast with Pseudo-Legendary strength. It was simply outrageous.

"Ah-li~ Easy~"

The Lucky Cloud Qilin called out smugly. It normally relied on this skill to make a living, and had mastered it to perfection.

If Dr. Xu's Pet Beast had not been so powerful before, if they had not been so close, and if it had not gotten a little too carried away eating... Jiang Xing alone would never have been able to break its invisibility.

"So this is Modu City. There are so many Pet Beasts I've never seen before!" Li Lingyin raised her head and looked outside the airport at the various Pet Beasts the travelers had brought with them, nearly overwhelmed by the sight--

After the worldline shift, Modu City still held an exceptionally high status. It was one of Xia Kingdom's foremost Beast Tamer cities.

Not only did it have an incredibly strong Beast Taming culture, it was also one of the starting points of the Xia Kingdom Beast Tamer Alliance. Many Beast Tamers from different countries chose Magic City as the starting point for traveling through Xia Kingdom or participating in battle competitions.

With the Magic City Evolution Assembly about to begin, it had also drawn visitors from several nearby countries.

As a result, one could see many unique Pet Beasts here that belonged exclusively to other regions and were extremely rare in Xia Kingdom. They were quite eye-catching.

Jiang Xing looked around a few more times before moving on. "Let's go. We'll head to the Craftsman House first and see how the props are coming along."

Furthermore, human assistants were not all that reliable. Once they learned and developed enough, they might quit and strike out on their own. That was why many research institutes preferred using Pet Beasts as research assistants.

In fact, Jiang Xing had brought Li Lingyin, Little Qilin, and the Dragon Cub with him to attend the assembly and travel, while borrowing an [Antique Puppet] from Dr. Xu to temporarily manage the research institute in his place.

That Necromancy Type Antique Puppet was even somewhat better than Jiang Xing at caring for the other Pet Beasts.

It made him feel both ashamed and immensely envious.

However, that was an assistant-type Pet Beast Dr. Xu had cultivated over many years. It was not something Jiang Xing could gain simply by envying it.

If Jiang Xing wanted a Pet Beast assistant, he would have to choose one himself and raise it from scratch.

He planned to take the opportunity of attending the assembly to explore Magic City, which had a rich variety of Pet Beasts, and see whether he could find anything worthwhile.

When Jiang Xing followed the address Master Jian had given him and took the subway to the Craftsman House, he froze on the spot--

The Pet Beast Craftsman House he had imagined should have been a mysterious little shop full of charm yet unknown to most, tucked away in a quiet alley amid a bustling city. It would look utterly ordinary from the outside, but in truth, it would be a master hidden among the common folk, its secrets known only to those qualified to know them.

How fitting for a master!

However...

What stood before him was an enormous building near the city center, fifty or sixty stories tall and standing out like a crane among chickens. The opaque glass covering its exterior glimmered faintly gold beneath the sunlight.

The ground floor had an enormous entrance like that of a shopping mall. Beast Tamers with Pet Beasts constantly entered and exited, while above it hung a sign reading [Jian's Craftsman House · Entrance One]. Beside it were all kinds of advertisements, such as "XX Props Newly Released, the Best Choice for X-Type Battles"...

How many hundreds of millions was this building alone worth?

So Jian's Craftsman House was the name of a company, not a building!?

Little Qilin did not mind such things either... although Jiang Xing said he had paid it, it still felt rather guilty about freeloading on food and drink every day while doing nothing.

Helping Jiang Xing with a few things would also let it eat with a clearer conscience.

Following Master Jian's instructions, Jiang Xing and Li Lingyin climbed onto Little Qilin's back and rose into the air, arriving at the Helipad on the very top floor of Jian's Craftsman House.

Led by a staff member, they entered the building through an internal rooftop passage and met Master Jian--

The master herself matched Jiang Xing's expectations. She was a kind elderly woman with a head full of silver hair, dressed in a simple embroidered traditional outfit with little jewelry.

A young little girl stood beside her. If they encountered them on the street, they would look no different from an elderly woman out with a child.

When Master Jian saw Jiang Xing, her gaze was immediately drawn to the Lucky Cloud Qilin beside him.

Although Old Xu had explained it to her, she was still astonished when she saw the Legendary Qilin standing beside a young man with her own eyes.

Fortunately, she had lived for many years and seen many unbelievable things, so she quickly calmed herself.

"Some of the props you ordered still aren't finished... but the most important part, the clothing, has all been completed."

"Would you like to try it on first?"

"Thank you."

"Guoguo, go bring the Beast Taming Suit from the collection room."

The little girl ran into the room and soon came back out carrying a stack of clothes.

When Jiang Xing saw the black-and-white outfit in her arms, anticipation flashed in his eyes.

After envying Senior Sister Su for so long, he finally had his own exclusive outfit!
