Overview

Pet Beasts are magical creatures that coexist with humanity. They emerged after residual energy from alien Secret Realms fused with Blue Star's native energy; this fusion also gave rise to Beast Tamers, contracts, and evolution systems. Their original worlds had magical creatures, but not the modern systems of Pet Beast evolution or contracting. 35

They are embedded throughout daily life, including clothing, food, housing, transportation, childcare, medicine, construction, and delivery work. While people may keep docile Pet Beasts as companions, only qualified individuals may become Beast Tamers and formally raise combat-capable partners. 1 152

Biology and Evolution

• Pet Beasts possess high intelligence; even insect-type species can understand human speech. Wild populations may produce exceptionally strong leaders or lords. 4
• More than 100,000 basic Pet Beast forms are known, with new species continuing to arrive through Secret Realms. 1

Jiang Xing's research established personality as a necessary evolution condition for the Golden-Veined Koi's transformation into a Rainbow Dragon Cub, supporting the Personality Conjecture as a formal theory. 43

Intimacy and Emotion

Intimacy is a measurable force rooted in sincere bonds between a Beast Tamer and a Pet Beast. It can affect move power and, at its peak, enable exceptional phenomena such as a Howl Dog's return as a Spirit-Guarding Dog. 55 64

The Emotion attribute is an abstract auxiliary attribute that enhances a Pet Beast's attacks rather than producing a tangible element. Because it lacks ordinary type-restraint interactions and detection methods, Emotion-type moves were historically mistaken for Normal moves. 93

Environment and Items

Secret Realm environments and evolutionary items can catalyze evolution, but they only work when the Pet Beast itself possesses the corresponding potential. 45 140

Natural Secret Realm Stones are one-use resources whose energy is consumed in evolution. Their scarcity makes Secret Realms valuable and frequently contested. 45

Attributes

Pet Beasts may possess one or multiple attributes. Attributes affect move interactions, resistances, weaknesses, potential, and possible evolutionary outcomes. 12

• Superior attributes include Light, Dark, Dragon, and Phoenix; Pet Beasts possessing them generally have high potential and strength. 12

Contracts and Beast Tamers

Humans can awaken the ability to contract and command Pet Beasts. A formal Beast Tamer must meet knowledge, financial, and mental-health requirements, while ordinary people can adopt docile pet-type beasts. 1

Secret Realms supply new Pet Beasts, items, and resources, making Pet Beast cultivation and combat central to national competition and preparation for a possible future threat from the Beast of Destruction. 22 35

Research and Assistance

Pet Beast research centers frequently employ Pet Beasts as assistants because some possess exceptional computational ability, stability, or specialized care skills. 31
