Background

Wang Dong'er was raised by the Clear Sky Sect’s Sect Master and Vice Sect Master and has no memories of her parents, who were said to be missing. Since childhood, a voice in her mind guided her actions; it ordered her to enroll at Shrek Academy at age eleven in a male disguise, promising that she would meet her “Child of Destiny” there. She came to identify Huo Yuhao as that person. 76

As Wang Dong, she began as an entitled and proud roommate who attempted to impose rules on Huo Yuhao. Their first duel ended in a crushing defeat: Huo Yuhao evaded her attacks, absorbed Light of the Butterfly God, and stopped a killing thrust beside her neck. 9 The experience left her determined to close the gap between them, though repeated challenges only reinforced how far ahead Huo Yuhao was. 35 39

She eventually revealed her female identity to Huo Yuhao, becoming Wang Dong'er openly. The reveal was interrupted by an assassination attempt, when Huo Yuhao pushed her out of the path of a throwing knife. 67 During the ensuing ambush, she flew back toward Shrek Academy for aid while Huo Yuhao remained behind. Her “elder sister” was ultimately revealed as Tang Wutong’s divine consciousness.
