History and Purpose

The light was not blinding. A torrent of data began to flicker before finally converging at the center, outlining a three-dimensional model of an abstract human head.

Then, a voice rang out through the control room.

The voice was calm and ethereal, blending the voices of countless men, women, young, and old, yet it was as rational as a machine.

"Welcome, visitor from the past."

The voice continued, "You may call us the Human Unified Consciousness."

"Of course, using the name you are familiar with might make it easier for you to understand."

"We are the Radical Destruction Bringer you seek."

Their candor exceeded Masaki Keigo's expectations.

He did not respond to the welcome. His sharp gaze pierced through the glass. "What do you want to do?"

"I have already confirmed that this universe's spacetime structure is not linear."

"Any change made to the past will only give rise to a new timeline, a new parallel universe."

"It will have no effect on your present, nor on this world that has already died."

Masaki Keigo countered. He had confirmed this when he traveled through time and space.

In other words, the Radical Destruction Bringer's fate had already been decided. Even destroying the past spacetime could not change this world that had already reached its end.

"Meaning—before the end, the very word itself has already lost all meaning."

"What we did was not to change our own fate. Our fate ended the moment we made that choice."

With those words, the screens around them—dark for countless years—lit up one row after another.

Then, images began to play across the screens.
