During the Warring States Period, Madara's younger brother Izuna was killed by Tobirama Senju. Madara responded with escalating violence against the Senju Clan, becoming powerful enough that even Hashirama had difficulty restraining him. 282

At Konoha, Madara rejected an alliance proposed by Iwagakure and Takigakure representatives, demanding submission to Konoha instead. He overwhelmed Ōnoki, Mū, Kakuzu, and Masashige with his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, Susanoo, Fire Style, and superior combat ability. 65
