Background

Mao Jiu first appeared at Super God Academy as an orphan adopted by Kieran. Kieran had shown her and Karl a photograph of Su Yu before his arrival, allowing her to recognize him immediately. At the time, she regarded Su Yu as the academy's vice-principal and addressed him with deference. 114 115

Inspired by Su Yu's swordsmanship, Mao Jiu remained on the training field long after class ended. Her focused practice led her to comprehend Sword Qi within hours, after which Su Yu personally taught her the agile Tianxuan Nine Swords and its associated footwork, Tianxuan Step. 117
