Asuma's cheerful voice came from behind him. Kakashi paused, slipped Make-Out Paradise back into his pocket, then turned to greet Kurenai.
Kakashi still had enough dignity to care about his appearance in front of women his age.
Kurenai Yuhi asked curiously, "Kakashi, how did you end up like this? Can you tell us?"
Kakashi covered his face. "All I can say is... I let my guard down. I didn't dodge."
"Hehe~"
Kakashi followed the sound and saw Sasuke looking at him with open disdain.
"If you lost, then you lost. Saying you let your guard down just makes you sound ridiculous."
Sasuke looked down on Kakashi a little. He couldn't accept defeat, and his skills were lousy. He wasn't fit to be Sasuke's teacher.
A hint of sympathy passed through Kurenai and Asuma's eyes as they looked at Kakashi. He had no authority as a teacher at all.
"Even if it's not pleasant to hear, I think Sasuke's right."
Guy twisted the knife at just the right moment.
"Fine, fine. I admit I suck, all right?"
Kakashi glared with his dead-fish eyes. Behind Kurenai stood the Rebellious Disciple who had sent him to the hospital, chatting and laughing with Hinata, without a hint of remorse on his face.
Kakashi couldn't help but feel his anger rising.
"Naruto! Get over here!"
The hospital room fell silent. Everyone turned to look at Naruto.
Hinata looked worried. "Naruto-kun..."
He'd beaten his teacher into the hospital... Wouldn't he be punished?
"It's fine. I've done nothing wrong, and I have a clear conscience."
Naruto patted Hinata's hand, then strode up to Kakashi with his head held high.
"Did you need something, Sensei?"
