"Sovereign Power of the Sovereign of Death?"
Sensing the aura emanating from the void, both Reding and Lierus felt their expressions shift slightly. Moments later, the giant face dissipated, condensing into two figures—one blue and one white.
There are many ways for a Sovereign to descend: elemental giant faces, energy clones, or projected avatars. If a Sovereign wishes, they can take any form to hide among the gods, but regardless of the form, the Sovereign Power remains unchanged.
Reding and his companion were certainly no strangers to the Sovereign of the Death element. The strongest among the Death Sovereigns was one of the four Rulers of the Rules, the very first life born in the Netherworld, the ancient Lord of the Netherworld: the Sovereign of Death.
The four of them, when united, could rival a Ruler. Facing an ordinary Ruler of the Laws—even the Radiant Overlord, Augusta, who was touted as the strongest Ruler of the Laws—they would dare to clash. But the four Rulers of the Rules were different.
The four Rulers of the Rules were the true masters of the countless planes, the absolute strongest. The Fate Overlord possessed a Supreme Artifact for soul defense and was naturally unafraid of them, while the Destruction Overlord and the Life Overlord were both Paragons whose soul strength far exceeded that of ordinary Rulers.
Although the Sovereign of Death was not a Paragon, she was a super divine beast and the first life born in the Netherworld, possessing unfathomable soul defense. Even with their confidence in their innate divine abilities, the four of them dared not claim certain victory.
After the red light faded, the figure of a beautiful young girl with red hair slowly emerged, her expression cold as she looked toward Reding and his companion.
"Sovereign of Death!"
This time, the expressions of Reding and Lierus became much more solemn. They exchanged a glance before simultaneously bowing slightly in salute.
"Reding greets the Sovereign!"
"Lierus greets the Sovereign!"
The Sovereign of Death glanced at the two of them indifferently and gave a slight nod, acknowledging their greeting.
"Greetings, Sovereign!" Ren also immediately bowed to the Sovereign of Death.
The Sovereign of Death did not speak, instead scanning the surroundings before looking at Ren, a faint smile appearing on her face.
As for Gaia and the others on the ground, they were completely dumbfounded, standing in place at a loss, not daring to interject.
It's actually the Sovereign of Death. Is there really no other way... Gaia lowered her head, a tear tracing the corner of her eye, yet she felt utterly powerless.
"Ren is my envoy!"
The Sovereign of Death took a step forward, addressing the Azure Dragon Sovereign Reding and the White Tiger Sovereign Lierus. Her tone was flat, revealing neither joy nor anger, yet it carried an unquestionable majesty.
"It was our rashness, but Sovereign, Ren killed so many members of our clan. To let him go just like this... I fear it is difficult to justify."
After Reding's brief "apology," he looked at Ren with cold eyes. This time, killing intent flashed within his gaze.
Since Ren could not be used by them and was destined to be an enemy of the clan, killing him was perhaps the best choice. Previously, Reding had considered binding Ren to the clan in hopes of finding a use for him, but now that the man was an envoy of a Sovereign, it was impossible for them to recruit him.
As for the thoughts of the Sovereign of Death, they were, after all, "in the right" in this matter. Even the Sovereign of Death could not simply act unreasonably and use her status to suppress them, could she?
"He killed them, so he killed them! What of it?" Hearing the Azure Dragon Sovereign's offensive words, the Sovereign of Death furrowed her brows, her previously beautiful face radiating an intense sense of oppression.
"Sovereign, Ren killed so many of our Four Divine Beasts Clan members. Are we just going to let this go? If word gets out, where does that leave our reputation? You may be a Sovereign, but isn't this a bit too overbearing?"
A flash of annoyance crossed Lierus's pale eyes, and he spoke with a tone of slight dissatisfaction.
In Lierus's view, this matter was clearly Ren's fault, and they were the side that was "in the right." He could understand the Sovereign of Death not apologizing, given her status, but Ren should at least be punished. For her to forcibly protect Ren was simply too overbearing.
"And so what? Is it not natural for ordinary gods to be killed if they anger a Paragon Highgod? He didn't kill your children, did he? Furthermore, your reputation? Why should I care about it? Are you even worthy?"
The Sovereign of Death looked at Reding with contempt, her tone completely flat, showing no concern for the dissatisfaction in Reding's words.
The Four Divine Beasts were said to have strength comparable to a Ruler, but that was only comparable to an ordinary Ruler. As one of the four Rulers of the Rules, the Sovereign of Death was a super divine beast by nature and possessed an offensive Supreme Artifact that perfectly matched her attributes. Aside from the other three Rulers of the Rules, she feared no one.
Though her personality was not particularly bloodthirsty, that did not mean she had a good temper. If these four angered her, she wouldn't mind letting them experience exactly why the Rulers of the Rules were the strongest among all Sovereigns.
Hearing the Sovereign of Death's "arrogant" words, the expressions of Reding and Lierus turned incredibly ugly. Lierus looked at Reding, his expression filled with inquiry.
Reding's inner anger churned, but as the eldest brother, he could not act on impulse; he had to be responsible for them all. After taking a deep breath, Reding spoke slowly:
"Very well. In that case, we will give you face. However, if your envoy Ren dares to kill our clansmen again, do not blame us for showing no mercy. Let's go!"
After saying this, the two of them waved their hands, taking Gaiseresen and the others with them, and vanished from the spot.
Hearing Reding's final threat, the Sovereign of Death paused for a moment before revealing a smile.
"Little one, you've caused quite a stir this time. I'm afraid those four are absolutely furious!"
The Sovereign of Death withdrew her gaze and looked at Ren, her tone carrying a hint of teasing, a strange light flashing in her eyes.
"Sovereign, I generally do not provoke anyone on my own initiative. It is the Four Divine Beasts Clan that brought this upon themselves." Ren chuckled, his tone filled with disdain for the Four Divine Beasts Clan.
"You brat, after this battle, your name will surely spread throughout the Divine Planes. Another invincible Paragon Highgod has risen. I fear quite a few people will be coming to visit you soon!"
The Sovereign of Death did not continue talking about the Four Divine Beasts, instead changing the subject. In the end, the Four Divine Beasts were merely a trivial matter to her.
"I don't care much about others. If a Paragon comes, I wouldn't mind sparring with them." Ren's expression was calm; he could already guess some of what might happen next.
"Alright, I shall take my leave. Feel free to visit my Nether Hotel when you have time." Once the Sovereign of Death finished speaking, her avatar dissipated, and the heavens and earth returned to calm.
At this moment, the sealed space was restored, and the spectators nearby were finally able to see the situation clearly once more.
When everyone saw that only Ren had emerged, their eyes widened. Although they did not know about the confrontation between the Sovereign of Death and the Sovereigns of the Four Divine Beasts, they had all seen the Great Elder of the Azure Dragon Clan, Gaia, summon a Sovereign.
The result was that the Sovereign had come and then left, and Ren was completely unharmed. This outcome proved more than enough.
The newly emerged Wind-element Paragon Highgod of Hell, Ren, had killed thirty Seven-Star Demons and four Asuras of the Four Divine Beasts Clan single-handedly, severely wounded the five children of the Four Divine Beasts Sovereigns, and built his name as an invincible figure upon the Four Divine Beasts Clan. In an instant, this news began to spread explosively throughout the entire Divine Plane.
