Background

Tang San grew up in Holy Soul Village after losing his mother at a young age. Village Chief Jack recalled that Tang Hao drank heavily, leaving Tang San to care for him; Tang San frequently spent time on a nearby hill. His Martial Soul awakening yielded Blue Silver Grass and Innate Full Soul Power. 73 76

He entered Shrek's orbit with Little Wu and displayed techniques unfamiliar to Douluo Continent, including hidden weapons, Jade Hand, and an unusual Soul Power circulation method. At level 29, he challenged Zhao Wuji, a level 76 Soul Sage, and drew Danheng's attention by using a Dragon Beard Needle and his unique body technique. 11

Tang San's hostility toward Danheng began when he attacked him to protect Little Wu, who feared Danheng's ability to perceive her true form. Danheng effortlessly caught the Dragon Beard Needle, later forcing Tang San to surrender his remaining needles. In Sunset Forest, Tang San sensed a treasure deeper within the forest and pushed the group toward it after Zhu Zhuqing obtained her fourth Soul Ring. The expedition brought them into conflict with Dugu Bo's maze and later Spirit Hall forces. While fleeing Guimei, Tang San used arrows, poison, needles, and the Life-Snatching Mother-Son Soul Chasing Pill, but was captured and brutally injured. Guimei's corrosive damage was concentrated in Tang San's left hand to save his life, leaving it permanently withered and stiff.
