Background / History
The Five Elements Sect was once a super sect that existed for ten thousand years and reportedly unified the Central Origin Continent. A series of upheavals fractured the sect; the catastrophe five thousand years ago devastated its power, scattered or destroyed much of its inheritance, and ended its ability to produce True Lords. By the present era, it controls only Luo Cloud Prefecture. 152
Despite its decline, the sect remains Luo Cloud Prefecture’s sole hegemon-level power. Its headquarters in the Five Elements Mountain Range is a major cultivation site, protected by formations, traps, patrolling disciples, and high-ranking martial artists. 20 133
Demonic unrest gradually forced the sect to issue compulsory demon-slaying missions not only to combat disciples, but also to alchemists, artifact refiners, and formation masters. 28 29 Ghost Monster Forest later launched a large-scale raid with thousands of Ghost Spirits and Anomalies, causing severe casualties among Elders and disciples despite the sect’s defenses. 132 133
The war shifted after the deaths of Ghost Monster Forest’s level-eight Forest Lords, attributed to the supposed Five Elements Hidden Ancestor. Believing this hidden powerhouse belonged to the sect, Ghost Monster Forest retreated while the sect joined the Zhao Kingdom Exiled Royal Family, Shadow Sect, and other forces in a counteroffensive. 150
After the Hidden Ancestor’s repeated interventions, the sect built the Hidden Tower in Bamboo Forest Valley and formally began serving him through offerings, requests, and the Hidden Guard. This arrangement enabled the sect to benefit from his protection without forcing him to reveal his identity. 163 164
Following Qin Dongcheng’s destruction of Beast King Valley, Ghost Monster Forest, and Zhao Kingdom’s ruling power, the sect moved in to take over Heyuan Prefecture’s territory, industries, settlements, and surviving martial artists. 170 171 174

Cultivation Inheritance
Five Elements Fist Technique
The sect’s defining inheritance is the Five Elements Fist Technique, a top-tier body-refining and combat art divided into ten layers, with each layer corresponding to one martial realm. Its training and combat methods are integrated rather than separated. 62
| Layer progression | Associated technique |
|---|---|
| Body Phase | Mount Tai Body Strengthening Fist |
| Skin Phase | Diamond Skin Refining Fist |
| Flesh Phase | Evergreen Flesh Refining Fist |
| Tendon Phase | Tide-Rising Muscle-Refining Fist |
| Bone Phase | Volcano Bone Refining Fist |
| Five Viscera Phase | Five Elements Organ Refining Fist |
| Six Bowels Phase | Five Elements Viscera Refining Fist |
| Marrow Phase | Five Elements Marrow Cleansing Fist |
| Blood Phase | Five Elements Blood Changing Fist |
| Innate Phase | Five Elements Innate Fist |
The first five component arts cultivate Blood Qi aligned with Earth, Metal, Wood, Water, and Fire. At higher levels, practitioners merge these five forms of Blood Qi into a self-circulating unified power capable of tempering the internal organs and supporting later realms. 55 62 72
Five Elements Fist Canon
The Five Elements Fist Canon is the complete ten-layer form of the sect’s foundational inheritance. It can be cultivated from the Body Phase through the Innate Phase and is regarded as one of the Central Origin Continent’s foremost body-refining scriptures. 152
Five Elements True Art
The sect preserves the Five Elements True Art, a top-grade spirit art for the True Lord realm. It is a higher-tier inheritance than the Five Elements Fist Canon and records methods for elevating the canon for use beyond martial cultivation. 152 153
Auxiliary-Profession Canons
The upper levels of the Five Elements Library retain top-grade spiritual canons for auxiliary professions, including formations, artifact forging, talisman crafting, and beast taming. These texts have largely remained unused because no True Lord has appeared on the continent for five thousand years. 153
Facilities and Resources
- Cauldron Hall — conducts alchemy examinations and supports the sect’s alchemical hierarchy. 20 61
- Mission Hall — distributes sect assignments, including demon-slaying and pill-refinement missions. 28 133
- Five Elements Library — stores low-, intermediate-, advanced-, and top-tier classics on four separate floors. 128
- Herb fields — maintained by chore disciples, who must meet monthly herb quotas under severe penalties. 1
- Bamboo Forest Black Market — a disciple-run market for purchasing martial resources and exchanging goods; the sect largely tolerates it as long as activities do not go too far. 5
- Hidden Tower offerings — the sect initially presented ten high-grade or higher Strange Treasures, including two top-grade treasures, to the Hidden Ancestor. 163
- Talent-and-aptitude bounty — the sect offers market-value compensation, major contribution-point rewards, treasures, and even True Inheritance Disciple status for suitable Strange Treasures. 164
Relationships
- Qin Dongcheng / Five Elements Hidden Ancestor — Qin first joined as a herb-field handyman, later became an Official Disciple and Inner Sect Disciple through alchemy. The sect eventually recognizes and serves his Hidden Ancestor identity through a mutually beneficial arrangement, though most members do not know the two identities are the same. 1 21 62 163
- Lou Guangzhi / Five Elements Bright Ancestor — senior sect leader who manages the sect’s relationship with the Hidden Ancestor and directs expansion into Heyuan Prefecture. 163 165

- Beast King Valley — enemy faction that allied with Ghost Monster Forest and attacked the Five Elements Mountain Range; it was later destroyed, allowing the sect to assume its territory and industries. 162 170 172
- Zhao Kingdom Exiled Royal Family — initially joined the sect’s counteroffensive against Ghost Monster Forest, but later facilitated an alliance between Ghost Monster Forest and Beast King Valley to resist the sect’s expansion. 150 162
- Shadow Sect — allied with the sect and Zhao Kingdom Exiled Royal Family during the campaign against Ghost Monster Forest. 150
- Purgatory Hall — later adversary whose assets and territory the sect prepares to seize following the Hidden Ancestor’s intervention. 181 182
Story Role / Major Arcs
Demon and Ghost Crisis
The sect’s initial stability is undermined by escalating demon and ghost incursions. It assigns mandatory combat missions across professional disciplines, then endures a major Ghost Monster Forest raid that kills Elders, disciples, and True Inheritance members. 28 29 133
Rise of the Hidden Ancestor
The deaths of Well Maiden and Thousand-Faced Scholar convince Ghost Monster Forest and the sect that a second Grandmaster Supreme protects Bamboo Forest Valley. This rumored protector becomes known as the Five Elements Hidden Ancestor. 150
Hidden Tower Agreement
Rather than demand the Hidden Ancestor reveal himself, the sect builds the Hidden Tower, supplies Strange Treasures, and establishes the Hidden Guard. In return, it gains the protection and guidance of a hidden powerhouse when he considers intervention worthwhile. 163 164
Heyuan Prefecture Expansion
The sect exploits the destruction of Beast King Valley, Ghost Monster Forest, and Zhao Kingdom’s ruling structure to take over Heyuan Prefecture. Its forces cleanse remaining enemies, rebuild settlements, relocate civilians, and absorb territory and industries. 171 174
Purgatory Hall Campaign
After the Hidden Ancestor defeats the Black Wind Bear Demon, the sect prepares to seize Purgatory Hall’s holdings in Fire Sun Prefecture. The proposed expansion would raise its controlled territory to nearly three hundred million square kilometers. 181 182
Trivia
- The sect’s public image changed dramatically after rumors of the Five Elements Hidden Ancestor spread; disciples believed it had gained a second Grandmaster Supreme, with one ancestor “in the light” and one “in the shadows.” 150
- The Hidden Ancestor’s rumored appearance—short, thin, elderly, and overwhelmingly skilled in fist techniques—helped conceal Qin Dongcheng’s identity as a young, tall, handsome alchemist. 150
- Although the Five Elements Sect is a righteous sect rather than a demonic cult, its internal factions and powerful affiliated families frequently pursue their own interests. 10 63
