Another Confrontation

The scream of Kalieqin was particularly piercing within the otherwise silent apartment.

He curled up on the floor, his hands clamped tightly over his eyes, but blocking his vision was meaningless.

Those multicolored Eye of Spirituality, hanging high above the teaching assistant Allen, were branded directly into the depths of his soul like a red-hot iron.

What was even more terrifying was that a vast, pure, and incomprehensible surge of Psionic energy was pouring toward him through those eyes, like an invisible tide.

This sensation was not like being deliberately attacked by a powerful force; it felt more like his soul was an insignificant snowflake that had inadvertently drifted into someone's palm.

Even if the other party had no intention of harming this snowflake, the heat from their palm would slowly melt it away.

At this moment, Kalieqin could even feel his own soul emitting a groan of unbearable strain under this fluctuation, as if it were about to evaporate and be annihilated like water vapor at any second.

The very existence of the other party, the essential level of their Psionic power, formed an absolute suppression over him.

"Of... officer!" Although the junior investigator could not see the Eye of Spirituality clearly through Inspiration like Kalieqin could, he still felt that terrifying pressure that had suddenly descended, freezing his soul.

At this moment, Kalieqin was observing those Eye of Spirituality, and because he was affected by them, he refracted a portion of the spiritual fluctuations from those eyes, causing them to diffuse into the study behind him.

The relatively inert residual Subspace fluctuations within the study were like an oil depot hit by a spark, instantly boiling and rioting!

The phantom of the Six-Horned Red Demon was projected through the Subspace, appearing in his consciousness, holding a spear wreathed in the wails of souls, and letting out a deafening, maniacal laugh filled with the desire for destruction!

"It's you!" The demon's will struck Kalieqin's core of consciousness like a heavy hammer.

It had sensed the familiar Psionic fluctuations of Gallo, excited to have once again found the detestable existence that had banished it before.

"Hmm?" At this moment in the attic, Gallo, who was eating dinner, looked up and let out a soft sound of confusion.

Lily was chewing on buttered bread and mutton stew, asking Gallo beside her with her mouth full: "What's wrong... did you eat... a piece of bone fragment... and chip a tooth?"

Gallo stroked Lily's hair and didn't say much. He continued to eat his dinner slowly, but through the feedback from the Eye of Spirituality, Gallo instantly understood the critical situation over there.

Furthermore, the Inspiration the other party released had detected Gallo's remote-viewing Eye of Spirituality and had actually perceived it directly, but then the other party couldn't withstand the Psionic fluctuations projected by Gallo's remote viewing.

What was originally just remote observation had inadvertently placed Kalieqin in an extremely dangerous position, and even caused Gallo's own spiritual projection, refracted through Kalieqin, to attract Blood-Howl Gorak, the Subspace entity that Gallo had banished from his own consciousness last time.

After all, there were already residual Subspace energy fluctuations of Gorak within the study.

He attempted to project more of his own Psionic power to suppress Gorak, who was trying to dominate Kalieqin. If Kalieqin were to lose control under Gorak's domination, it would cause a massive disaster. The most severe consequence would be the formation of a gateway connecting the Subspace to reality, at which point Gorak and the Subspace entities under his command would flood into this reality.

But at this moment, Kalieqin's consciousness had become Gorak's home turf. The entity had even specifically used the residual Subspace fluctuations to block Gallo's Psionic fluctuations, making his power feel like scratching an itch through a boot, unable to form an effective intervention.

"Not enough! The spiritual intensity is still not enough!"

Without hesitation, Gallo moved his mind, and the remaining bit of his available attribute points was instantly invested into [Spirituality].

A more majestic and condensed spiritual power erupted from the depths of his soul! If it had been a stream before, it was now like a surging river!

This time, his Psionic projection was no longer sluggish.

A pure, scorching spiritual Radiance, carrying his unique soul imprint, ignored physical distance and, following the invisible remote-viewing connection, forcefully broke into the space of consciousness that Kalieqin had almost been drowned in by blood and madness!

In an instant, Kalieqin's consciousness seemed to be split in two.

One half was a scarlet, filthy sea of blood, filled with the maniacal laughter and destructive will of Blood-Howl Gorak.

The other half was a suddenly illuminated, warm, and majestic white-gold Radiance!

At the core of this Radiance, a blurred human silhouette condensed. Although the face could not be seen clearly, the powerful force that dispelled the filth and stabilized his weak soul allowed Kalieqin to see a glimmer of hope in his despair.

"It is you!!" The roar of Blood-Howl Gorak was filled with shock and rage.

The figure in the white-gold Radiance seemed to glance at the scarlet sea of blood casually, then gently raised a hand—this was a direct interference with the Subspace through powerful spirituality at a higher level.

There was no earth-shattering collision, no complex or flashy means of attack.

It was as if someone had used a giant eraser to gently wipe away a stain on a drawing board.

The churning sea of blood, the hideous demon phantom, the destructive laughter... the moment they touched the white-gold Radiance, they melted, disintegrated, and dissipated like snow under the sun!

The roar of Blood-Howl Gorak, filled with unwillingness and anger, came to an abrupt halt, and the will it had projected was cleanly and decisively banished back into the depths of the Subspace once again!
