Awakening and Soul Master Cultivation

A Martial Soul is awakened as the foundation of a soul master's path. Mu Qian's awakening was granted as a reward for passing the Ancestor God's First Trial, alongside Innate Level 20 Spirit Power. 4

• A Martial Soul can determine a wielder's natural attributes, combat style, and potential.
• Spirit rings are fused to Martial Souls to unlock soul skills and advance through cultivation bottlenecks. Mu Qian sought his third ring after reaching level 30. 8
• Ring compatibility may be exceptionally broad or restricted by a Martial Soul's nature. Yinglong can accommodate known attributes, but Mu Qian is advised to fuse only one soul beast of each attribute for optimal growth. 6 10
• Soul skills need not replicate the abilities of the soul beast that supplied a ring. Yinglong's skills are described as exclusive abilities of the Martial Soul itself. 10

Twin Martial Souls

Twin Martial Souls are an exceptionally rare configuration in which one soul master possesses two separate Martial Souls. Mu Qian received his Twin Martial Souls from the Ancestor God's trial. 4 5

Yinglong

Yinglong is Mu Qian's first Martial Soul. Its origin is connected to myths of a creator deity, True Dragon, and Dragon Ancestor; even in its newly awakened state, it exudes pressure that seems to stand above other beings. 5

• It manifests with cyan-gold Dragon Wings and an aura capable of suppressing soul beasts through bloodline pressure. 12 118
• Snow Maiden states that Yinglong possesses the characteristics of all known attributes. 6
• Its sacred power is particularly effective against evil and corrupted beings. 92

Its true nature becomes clearer as it develops: Nine Nether contains an independent internal space that initially admits only spiritual bodies, then later matures into an embryonic world with mountains, rivers, sky, and clouds. 13 219

• Nine Nether can house souls, allowing Jinyu—the Amethyst Imperial Epiphyllum—to survive within it as a unique life form. 13 14
