History

Foundation and early expansion

Wang Chengzhu began cultivating in his twenties, reached Foundation Establishment before forty, opened his Violet Mansion in his eighties, and later became a Golden Core cultivator. After earning major merit against demonic beasts, the Zhao Imperial Clan granted him Jade Spring Peak. He married, raised descendants, and founded the Wang Clan. 7 8

Wang Chengzhu established Qingli Market at the confluence of the Qingxi and Qingli Rivers. Using the market as a base, the clan expanded downstream; surrounding forces either allied with it or became its vassals. Qingli Commandery was nearly its fiefdom during this period, earning the clan the name “Qingli Wang Clan.” 8

During the war that overthrew the Zhao Imperial Clan, Wang Chengzhu and the Dragon Fish slew five Crimson Sun Palace Golden Core cultivators. He later died fighting for the Zhao cause, leaving the clan exposed to retaliation. 8

Decline under the Netherworld Sect

After the Zhao Clan fell, the Netherworld Sect took control of Qingli Commandery and accepted the Wang Clan as a subordinate force. The clan avoided extermination but lost more than half of its cultivators, numerous mines and forests, and most of its Qingli Market shops. 8

For roughly three centuries, the clan was suppressed as a suspected remnant of the Zhao faction. The Liang Family steadily encroached on its territory, leaving it with only the Jade Spring General Store in Qingli Market. At the beginning of Wang Daoyuan's generation, the clan had more than sixty cultivators and over 100,000 mortals. 9

Recovery and territorial resurgence

Wang Zhian's cautious leadership reduced external pressure, while Wang Shouye and Wang Daoyuan became the core of the clan's revival. Wang Shouye established his foundation in Chapter 131; by Chapter 189, the clan possessed seven Foundation Establishment cultivators. 51 131 189

Wang Daoyuan reformed the clan rules to recognize contributions beyond cultivation and the Hundred Cultivation Arts. The reforms opened more paths to become elders or stewards and improved morale. 164 168

The Wang Clan eventually reached a settlement with the Liang Family: it would reclaim ancestral territory east of the Qingli River and north of the Clear Stream. The handover took over a year and established the Qingli River and Clear Stream as major boundaries between the Wang, Yang, and Liang territories. 340 343

Rise as a regional power

After reclaiming territory, the clan gained Qingyun Peak, a low-grade third-order Spirit Vein, two second-order Spirit Veins, and more than ten first-order Spirit Veins. It also planned to relocate tens of thousands of mortals to develop these lands and expand its cultivator population. 344

With Wang Daoyuan overseeing Yannan Commandery, more than forty local families visited Jade Spring Peak to offer allegiance or cooperation. The clan built administrative institutions including the Trade Department, Garrison Hall, Conquest Department, and specialized halls for pills, artifacts, talismans, and formations. 517 523 525

The clan later expanded beyond the Northern Abyss through the Seven Stars Sea, Blood Shadow, the Wan Chuan Merchant Guild, secret realms, and newly developed islands.
