Nature and Cultivation

Soul Beasts accumulate cultivation over time. Their cultivation age is a major measure of their strength, but bloodline quality can outweigh age: a ten-thousand-year Golden Lion Mastiff is described as capable of rivaling vastly older powerful beasts. 49

A Soul Beast's death normally produces a Soul Ring for a Soul Master to absorb. Soul Bones may also be left behind, though this is not guaranteed; the defeated Golden Lion Mastiff did not produce one, while even a ten-year Soul Beast Torso Bone is considered an extraordinary anomaly. 12 55

The Star Dou Great Forest is home to the Three-Eyed Golden Lion and the Ten Great Fierce Beasts. Di Tian leads these powerful Soul Beasts, while Scarlet King is identified as the eighth-ranked Fierce Beast. 114 115

The forest's strongest beasts react strongly to threats against the Auspicious Beast. Xuan Zi uses the Three-Eyed Golden Lion as leverage to demand high-level Soul Beasts, while Di Tian later personally arrives to retrieve it. 114 115

Baroque Forest

The Baroque Forest contains fewer top-tier Soul Beasts than the Star Dou Great Forest, but its central territory was occupied by an injured Dark Gold Ghost Mastiff capable of transforming into a Golden Lion Mastiff. 51 52

The transformed Golden Lion Mastiff withstands Gong Changlong and three Soul Douluo, employs Dominating Domain and Lion Mastiff Roar, and temporarily reaches power comparable to a Super Douluo. 53 54

Soul Spirits

Electrolux's developing Soul Spirit method seeks a path beyond the ordinary kill-and-absorb system. The initial method still requires a Soul Beast's death and complete willingness, but it preserves the beast's soul rather than reducing it to an inert ring. 123 151
