Having fully absorbed the body's memories, Guilliman could only use three "holy shits" to express his inner thoughts.
In that brief instant, he had already understood the whole sequence of events.
He had transmigrated into a nightmarish place: the Imperium of Man in the Warhammer Universe.
This universe was a world of absolute chaos, where the only requirement was survival.
By any means necessary, make one's species survive. Survival was victory.
Humanity had struggled in space for forty thousand years, passing through the Golden Age, the Age of Strife, the Age of Night, the Great Crusade Era, the Horus Heresy at the end of the Great Crusade, and then ten thousand years of the Imperium of Man.
And now was the most perilous moment in the Imperium of Man's history.
The Imperium's main enemy was Abaddon, the Warmaster backed by the Four Chaos Gods.
He led the forces of Chaos in their endless incursions into the material universe, clearing the way for the Four Chaos Gods' final destruction of the world.
The Four Chaos Gods were truly terrifying. Pure conceptual entities—beings that simply could not be defeated.
Over the Imperium's ten thousand years of existence, Abaddon had launched twelve crusades, eliminating most of the Blackstone Pylons that prevented the Chaos Gods from entering the material universe.
With his thirteenth crusade, Cadia Fortress—the most crucial link among the sealing nodes—had also been completely destroyed.
The out-of-control Eye of Terror was now spewing the power of Chaos into the real world. The Chaos Gods' minions were pouring in madly, sweeping across planet after planet.
The massive Great Rift had split the Imperium of Man in two, and Daemons and traitors had appeared across countless worlds.
The Imperium was now a giant bleeding out. If things went badly, humanity would be finished soon enough.
But Blue Grandfather, who had transmigrated into this point in time, faced enemies that were simply too terrifying. This was utterly a dead end!!
Thinking of this, Guilliman's head began to ache.
It was not that he was weak. The enemies were simply too powerful; he could not withstand them.
Those traitorous Primarchs alone were enough to leave him overwhelmed and unable to attend to everything.
Worse still, those damned Chaos Gods behind them were watching like tigers.
One wrong move, and it would all be over.
The roar of Chainswords snapped Guilliman back to his senses. He looked at the Chaos Warriors and Daemons before him.
He should deal with the enemies in front of him first, then figure out what to do next.
Guilliman casually drew the Holy Sword beside him, and blazing fire instantly covered its blade.
It was the Emperor's personal sword, brought over by Cawl, the Tech-Priest wearing Resurrection Armor.
As Guilliman gripped the hilt, the Emperor's Holy Sword awakened as well. Golden flames spread outward, illuminating the golden battlefield.
With the two souls merged, Guilliman felt that controlling this demigod body had become smoother, and it brimmed with boundless power.
The moment he took up the sword, combat techniques automatically surfaced in his mind, giving him the instinctive feeling that he could wield this body of surging power as he pleased.
Guilliman's awakening plunged both sides of the battle into strange silence.
The Imperium's loyalists, humanity's last Guardians, all stared at him with ecstatic eyes.
Guilliman's return was like a faint light of hope suddenly rising in endless darkness.
Within the dark and desperate apocalypse, a faint trace of salvation had appeared.
The entire hall fell silent.
Compared to the rumbling war outside that shook the earth,
this place seemed extraordinarily eerie.
The overwhelming pressure innate to a Primarch filled the Daemons and fallen warriors with fear, forcing them into rare silence.
Even after sleeping for ten thousand years, his identity still filled them with incomparable terror.
Until a scream shattered it all.
A Khorne Berserker covered in bone spikes stepped out from the crowd, holding a blood-red battle axe.
Under the stunned gazes of his comrades, this fallen warrior who served the Blood God leaped into the air and charged straight at the Primarch, intending to collect the Primarch's soul for his master.
Guilliman moved.
Only the Followers of the Death God present and the Aeldari Warriors renowned for their speed could see that thunderous strike clearly.
The flaming sword traced an afterimage through the air.
The Berserker was split in two at the waist. The two halves flew toward the distant ground under the force of the blow, landing with a thunderous crash.
The sound of the Chaos Warrior's corpse hitting the ground broke the spell of silence.
Death could not make these minions of the Chaos Gods afraid.
Amid earth-shaking, hate-filled roars,
countless Daemons and Chaos Warriors charged Guilliman without regard for their lives.
They intended to destroy this awakened Primarch completely.
The surviving Ultramarines, Black Templars, and Space Marines from other Chapters also charged forward with roars. Both sides once again descended into bloody battle.
Chainswords and Power Weapons tore through armor and flesh. The hatred between the two sides ran so deep that the war would end only when one side had completely fallen.
"For humanity, for the Emperor, for my father!" Calgar roared. His Power Fist slammed into a traitor's throat, grinding apart the enemy's armor and windpipe as foul-smelling blood splashed across his body.
With Guilliman's awakening, they had gained the strength to fight these enemies once more.
Celestine wielded her sword with her only remaining hand, prayers still murmuring from her lips.
Guilliman's return filled her with burning fighting spirit, and she feared nothing.
The fire of faith burned across her body once more.
It turned her into the Emperor's messenger, reaping the traitorous Space Marines.
The Marshal of the Black Templars Chapter and his surviving comrades charged as well. Their battle cries boomed from their vox-grilles, and wherever the Templar Swords passed, corpses carpeted the ground.
As Guilliman joined the battlefield, the loyalists rapidly gained the advantage.
No one could withstand the power of a Primarch. Anyone who tried to stop him would suffer his terrifying wrath.
The first to die miserably were the sorcerers who worshipped the fallen Chaos Gods. It was their power that had shaken the Sanctum's foundations.
It had given those Daemons the chance to storm into the Sanctum.
Their vaunted Psykers were as fragile as thin paper before Guilliman.
Guilliman could easily snap their necks, then turn their bodies into fragments with a storm of armor-piercing rounds.
Next came the fallen Space Marines. Once humanity's protectors, they had now become humanity's enemies.
Guilliman showed them no mercy. Like a Celestial, he charged straight into their fierce barrage with the burning Holy Sword in hand.
A Primarch's reaction speed and strength were far beyond ordinary imagination.
Before Guilliman, the superhuman senses of the fallen Space Marines were not worth mentioning.
Like a Tiger charging into a flock of sheep, he began a frenzied slaughter.
With the first strike, a fallen Space Marine was cut directly in half. His Terminator Armor was like paper and could not stop Guilliman for even a second.
With the second strike, a Daemon was split in two. Cursed blood gushed forth, while the Emperor's Sword burned its soul to ashes, leaving it no chance to return to the Warp.
Then came the third strike, the fourth strike, so fast that only afterimages could be seen.
Guilliman moved like lightning. His arrival tipped the battlefield toward the loyal defenders.
Every warrior roared, their faces filled with excitement.
They gathered around Guilliman, forming an unstoppable spearhead with him and sweeping aside every enemy.
The once-mighty Daemons and fallen warriors were swiftly harvested like weeds before Guilliman.
Guilliman's rage was like a long-suppressed volcano suddenly erupting. Fury seemed tangible in his eyes as he swung the Emperor's Holy Sword, slaughtering every enemy he saw.
Only after killing the last Daemon in the Sanctum did Guilliman stop and quell his rage.
Guilliman had just wanted to sort out everything, see whether he could reestablish communications with Macragge's forces and retake the planet.
Suddenly, a crisp voice rang out in his mind.
[Target meets the requirements. Lord of Dominion Template, Database, and Assistant Spirit have been activated. Please check them promptly.] [The host may ask questions, and the Assistant Spirit will answer them as thoroughly as possible.]
The voice left Guilliman stunned.
Was this his transmigration Cheat??
It seemed there was still a chance to turn things around. Best case, he would get a ten-pull and ascend to mythic Da Luo within three days.
Then he could punch the Four Chaos Gods, kick the skeletons, eat Tyranids alive, and roast Greenskins over fire. That day was just around the corner!!
Even the Emperor would have to shakily rise to his feet and call him big brother.
"What abilities do you have?" Guilliman asked without wasting any time.
Transmigrating without a Cheat was like Adam without Eve. It was a recipe for disaster.
Understanding the Cheat was the first step toward defying fate and changing one's life.
