A'man is the daughter of the Barbarian King and a princess of the Barbarian Dynasty. She first meets Ning Chen while watching her father battle Prince Yan; impressed by Prince Yan but unwavering in her admiration for her father, she asks Ning Chen to show her the Central Plains. 59 60

Her early feelings for Ning Chen are characteristically direct: she intends to like him, marry him, and travel with him to the Central Plains.
