Tang San enters Shrek Academy alongside Xiao Wu and faces Le Bai during the final round of the entrance examination. He uses Blue Silver Grass, tactics, and restraint techniques to bind Le Bai, who nevertheless declares him fully qualified. 35

While hunting soul rings with Shrek, Tang San seeks Le Bai's guidance on Xiao Wu's future cultivation. He later learns of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well and becomes determined to pursue the rare resources associated with it. 41 101

At the well, Tang San consumes the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass and Infernal Delicate Apricot, then enters the spring to stabilize the violent reaction in his body. He subsequently discovers that his mother is a Blue Silver Emperor and witnesses Tang Hao transplant her into the well, where she heals using Tang San's blood. 126 131
