Background / History

Accounts of the Dragon Clan's relationship with the Mythological Human Race are fiercely disputed. Hengtian Emperor Venerable states that the Dragon Clan once sought the Human Race's protection and accepted the role of totems, mounts, and servants under a mythological covenant 217. Heavenly Mandate Dragon Emperor instead claims the original pact was an equal alliance, accusing the Human Kings of later reducing dragons to mounts, food, and servants 293.

Ancestor Dragon later admits that it had been trusted by the Human Emperor before betraying the Human God Dynasty. It led the Divine Beast Alliance in rebellion, helped imprison the Human Race within the Nine Realms, and built the Dragon Clan's later power upon the Human Race's collapse 569 578.

After the Mythological Era, the Dragon Clan established itself as a hegemonic force through conquest, exterminating ancient clans and swallowing great realms. Its prestige among the Myriad Worlds was built through this history of slaughter and expansion 390 412.

Conflict with the Chu Family

The Dragon Clan becomes central to Hengtian's political crisis when the Chu Family is accused of capturing, imprisoning, and dissecting true dragons, including high-level Dragon Venerables 129 158. Long Ao of the Dragon God Sect challenges the Chu Family, claiming that human cultivators cannot equal a true Dragon Clan body, but Chu Tian kills him after condemning the sect's human-dragon hybrids 135 136.

The death of Long Ao brings Dragon Lord Long Yu and a Dragon Clan envoy to Sacred Heaven Sect. Subsequent clashes escalate into direct intervention by Dragon Emperors and Dragon Venerables against Sacred Emperor Peak 137 152 153.

Nine Realms Grand Competition

The Ancient Dragon Court attempts to enter Azure Dragon descendants Cang Gu and Cang Ming as Human Race representatives. Human Kings object that the siblings are true dragons with negligible Human Race blood, despite Feng Changhao's insistence that they are human 199 200.

Cang Gu battles Chu Yueyao on the Primordial Battle Platform, deploying the Azure Dragon War Drum before she pierces it with the fused power of her Primordial Twin Pupils and Supreme Bone 201. After Cang Gu's death, Cang Ming devours his remains, evolves into an Eleven-Clawed Azure Dragon, and later reveals his Sky Dragon inheritance 202 204.

The Dragon Clan later sends thirty-six elite true-dragon prodigies to the competition, intending to massacre Hengtian's prodigies in retaliation for the Dragon Realm origin dispute 247.

War against the Human Race

After suffering repeated losses, the Dragon Clan commits its full strength to destroy Hengtian. It mobilizes tens of millions of true dragons, hundreds of Dragon Venerables, and numerous Mythical Realm experts in a war described as a struggle for the race's survival 434 435.

The clan also aligns itself with the Ten Forbidden Clans' planned war against the Human Emperor Realm. Its leaders frame the Human Race's revival as a threat to all Divine Beast Clans, citing the Dragon Clan's history under the Human Emperor 434 569.

Collapse of the Dragon Realm

The God Clan campaign devastates the Dragon Realm and exposes the limits of its reserves. Liuli Dragon Emperor is suppressed, Dragon Clan Ancient Ancestors are slain, and Chaos Ancestral Dragon is forced to emerge from the clan's deepest foundations 428 430.

Although Ancestor Dragon rallies the twelve Divine Beast Clans with the Myriad Beast Token, the alliance fractures under pressure from the Human Race. Every Divine Beast Clan except the Dragon Clan withdraws, while the Azure Heaven Clans also abandon their former ally 570 575 576.

Ancestor Dragon burns its Dragon Soul in a final attempt to preserve the clan, but is ultimately killed. The Human Race then annihilates the Dragon Clan's armies, enters the Dragon Realm, and massacres its remaining population 576 578 580.
