Jiang Chen grew up in Holy Soul Village alongside Tang San. An orphan taken in by Old Jack, he became Tang San's strongest childhood rival and repeatedly defeated him in sparring. Jiang Chen deliberately pressured Tang San to pursue strength; Tang San's resulting growth activated Jiang Chen's Triple Return, increasing Jiang Chen's cultivation speed by 15% after martial-soul awakening 1.

When Tang San reached the first level of the Mysterious Heaven Skill, Triple Return activated Jiang Chen's Creation Green Lotus Art. Its first level established his exceptional soul-power reserves, recovery rate, and ring-bearing potential before his martial soul awakened 2.
