The Power of Prejudice
On stage.
The idol sang with all his might, his voice echoing throughout the entire street.
He seemed to infuse his emotions into his singing, making every line powerful and infectious.
The lyrics of this song also express a feeling of being talented but unappreciated, and of being adrift and wandering.
Perhaps it also expressed his true feelings.
The perfect combination of lyrics and emotions greatly stirred the emotions of the audience.
The song ended.
The audience below the stage burst into applause.
However, this was just a street-side commercial event, and the road to fame and realizing this idol's dream was destined to be far from easy.
Shen Yu simply watched silently.
The coldness in his eyes and the aloofness he exuded easily made him stand out from the crowd.
Bai Zuo slightly turned his head to the side.
Unlike the people around him, who were either shopping or gathered under the stage to enjoy their idols' performance.
Throughout the entire process, Bai Zuo's attention remained focused on Shen Yu beside him.
Bai Zuo possesses extraordinary intelligence and keen observation skills, which allows him to easily understand the inner world of others.
Most people in the world are transparent to him.
He could see right through the filth and depravity in people's hearts.
The Bai Zuo chose to accept that malice, even allowing themselves to fall deeper into the abyss of malice.
However, Shen Yu was both similar to and different from him.
What they have in common is that the Chairman is also an exceptionally intelligent person, even more insightful than the Bai Zuo.
The difference is that the Chairman did not allow himself to be consumed by malice like the Bai Zuo.
He isolated himself from the world, facing it with detachment.
At this moment, Bai Zuo was trying to see through Shen Yu's calm exterior to find out his true thoughts.
Of course, the Bai Zuo knows this is difficult.
The passage of time, differing perceptions, and the accumulation of knowledge all combine to form a cohesive whole.
This created a clear boundary between him and the Chairman.
Bai Zuo thought to himself that perhaps in the Chairman's eyes he was just an ignorant child, whose every action was seen and transparent.
Deep down, Bai Zuo sees Shen Yu as a being with a strong sense of divinity, yet also with humanity.
He both admired the other person and couldn't help but want to get closer to them.
There's a psychological tendency for someone in darkness to reach out to someone standing in the light for salvation.
The Chairman is not a scorching sun that will burn those who come near him; he is like a universe containing infinite secrets and boundless Infinity, encompassing all things.
Whether it's a luminous star or a dim planet, whether it's a black hole that devours everything or a fleeting meteor.
He will be tolerant of all of them.
This may also be why the Chairman is able to attract so many Contract Anomalist and different Contract Anomalist to stay peacefully in the containment organization.
The Bai Zuo often wonders, what kind of person is the Chairman?
His past was filled with extraordinary and eventful experiences.
Did his experiences shape his personality, or did his personality dictate his experiences?
The Bai Zuo" has no idea.
Shen Yu noticed Bai Zuo's gaze, or rather, Bai Zuo never bothered to hide his gaze from the beginning.
"What's wrong? Was the performance bad?"
Bai Zuo- handed tilt of his head, "So-so."
Although he didn't even glance at the people on stage.
Shen Yu pondered to himself that this Character Card didn't seem to be the type who enjoyed watching performances; perhaps stirring up trouble was what the other party liked best.
But he couldn't possibly go and cause trouble with Fang Yi, could he?
Fortunately, Bai Zuo knew that the Chairman wouldn't go along with him causing trouble, and after watching the performance, the two originally planned to leave.
The Bai Zuo suddenly stopped in their tracks.
Shen Yu glanced sideways.
Bai Zuo smiled and said, "Chairman, you should go back first. I still have some things to do."
Shen Yu thought to himself, "So perceptive? Forget it, I'd better slip away first, otherwise it'll be even harder to handle the situation if I stay."
So, Shen Yu nodded to Bai Zuo and decisively returned to Headquarters.
On the other side of the street.
A man dressed in a suit, looking like a street performer, stood on the side of the street.
He held a deck of cards in his hand, the cards flying between his fingers, his skillful shuffling attracting the attention of many passersby.
"Mom, I want to see this."
Several children pulled their parents to stop and refused to leave.
The street performer politely bowed to the crowd and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to perform a magic trick for you."
This artist has black hair, wears gold contact lenses, and his eyes sparkle in the sunlight.
His outstanding appearance also attracted a group of viewers.
The girls were captivated by the magician's appearance and lingered, unwilling to leave.
"Ahhh, he's so handsome!"
Is he a celebrity?
I couldn't find any information about him.
The street performer took off his hat and showed it to the audience, making sure everyone could see that it was completely empty inside.
Then, he stood his hat up, and with a flick of his hand, a plump dove appeared out of it.
"Oh!"
The onlookers gasped in amazement at the magic show.
The magician released the plump pigeon he was holding.
The pigeons circled him once before taking off and flying into the distance.
Next, he performed several classic magic tricks using playing cards, successfully captivating an even larger audience.
Everyone was amazed by his superb magic skills. Even though they knew that magic was done with sleight of hand, they were still captivated by his flawless magic.
After the magician finished his performance, he bowed to the audience.
Everyone applauded.
After the audience left, the magician was tidying up his props.
A shadow fell.
A man stood in front of the magician and glanced at the scattered coins left by the audience as tips.
He said in an extremely sarcastic tone, "I had no idea that a dignified S-rank Contract Anomalist had fallen so low as to perform on the streets?"
"If you're this poor, why don't you consider becoming my servant?"
"And to avoid Contract Anomalist in public."
The magician looked up, a puzzled smile on his face. "Sir, do you know me?"
"Huh? What are you pretending for, you stinking bird?"
Bai Zuo crossed his arms and looked down at the magician who was half-squatting on the ground tidying up.
The magician gave an exaggerated smile.
He put on a top hat, and the demeanor he exuded was completely different from that of the down-on-his-luck street magician he had been before.
Skywing A touched her face. "How did you know? I thought my disguise was flawless."
The Bai Zuo scoffed, "Flawless, my foot! I could smell your animalistic stench from miles away."
Skywing A shrugged. "I understand. This is the power of prejudice."
