Background

Shen Yu was born with hyperthymesia, eidetic memory, and possible innate knowledge. He can recall experiences as far back as his birth, including details forgotten by his parents. The condition places an extreme burden on his brain, requiring a high-calorie diet despite his thin build. A doctor warned Shen Dahai and Shu Yu that Shen Yu's abilities could lead to insomnia, anxiety, or irritability if mishandled. 1514 1515

His parents moved the family to a quieter city to give him a stable upbringing. During his school years, Shen Yu maintained the image of a studious, ordinary student while concealing exceptional fighting skill and the ability to breach his school’s surveillance system. 1516 1518
