Background

The Primordial World began as a New World within Ye Xuan's Chaotic World. During Pangu's war against the Three Thousand Great Dao Godfiends, the force of their collision split Chaos apart and formed a growing realm between them. The new realm consumed Chaos and absorbed the remnants of the fallen Godfiends and their shattered Companion Supreme Treasures. Ye Xuan reinforced its origin with God Source Liquid as it formed 81.

Pangu stabilized the new world after its growth fell behind that of the surrounding Chaos. He used the Chaos Bell, Pangu Banner, and Taiji Diagram to protect and expand it, then transformed the Great Dao Jade Tablet into the Heavenly Dao. Pangu ultimately died to complete the world: his body became its physical features, while his Primordial Spirit, thoughts, and essence became Innate Sacred beings, treasures, and other life 82.

Though born within Chaos, the Primordial World develops as a distinct world inside the Chaotic World. It was initially more than a dozen Star Domains in size, with the remaining Chaos serving as the membrane-like space between the world and its former shell 82. Ye Xuan's long-term aim is to prevent the decline associated with the legendary Primordial World by guiding its inhabitants from the shadows rather than allowing them to depend on him directly 12.

Appearance

At its birth, the world is divided between rising Clear Qi and sinking Turbid Qi. It continually grows by consuming Chaos, absorbing World Origin, and incorporating the legacies of Pangu and the Great Dao Godfiends 81 82.

  • Heaven and Earth — formed and held apart through Pangu's efforts and the Heavenly Dao. 82
  • Mountains, rivers, plants, and other natural features — transformed from Pangu's body after his death. 82
  • Sun, moon, and stars — formed from aspects of Pangu and later supplemented by worlds absorbed into the Primordial World. 83 329
  • Chaos boundary — a vast layer of Chaos remains outside the Primordial World, which is itself part of the larger Chaotic World. 82 407

World Properties

Great Dao Foundation

The Primordial World inherits its foundation from Ye Xuan's Chaotic World and the Three Thousand Great Daos. Its inhabitants cultivate the Great Dao rather than laws alone, granting them a superior cultivation foundation compared with beings from worlds focused solely on Laws 280.

  • The Great Dao is readily perceptible throughout the world, though seeing it does not guarantee comprehending it. 458
  • The Great Dao of Power, created under Ye Xuan's guidance from the convergence of the Three Thousand Great Daos, is central to Pangu's world-opening power. 80 81
  • Its inhabitants can progress beyond Great Luo into the Chaotic Origin Realm, Mixed Origin realms, and the Primordial Limitless Golden Immortal realm. 95 407

World Origin and Expansion

The world's growth directly improves the potential and cultivation ceiling of its inhabitants. Ye Xuan repeatedly uses God Source and Liquid Base to expand and reinforce its origin 83 104 272.

  • The World Origin's strengthening caused large-scale Great Luo Golden Immortal breakthroughs. 95
  • The world becomes increasingly crowded for Chaotic Origin experts despite its exceptional size, prompting its later massive expansion. 272
  • Its condensed particle time-spaces include innumerable real and illusory Primordial World variants, greatly enhancing both the world and Ye Xuan. 387

Assimilation of Other Worlds

The Primordial Heavenly Dao can devour the origin of an outside world and manifest that world anew as a subordinate world of the Primordial World 325.

  • An assimilated world retains its former lifeforms and fundamental characteristics, but its cultivation ceiling becomes governed by the Primordial World's origin. 325
  • Fuxi receives one captured world and names it the Heaven Guarding World. 325 326
  • The Witch Clan names another conquered world the Netherworld Underworld, dividing it into ten guarded regions. 329
  • The Primordial World also contains countless internally developed worlds, categorized as Cavern Heavens, Blessed Lands, Great Chiliocosms, Middle Chiliocosms, Small Chiliocosms, Sahā Worlds, and Ganges Sand Worlds. 125

Inhabitants

Innate Sacred and Fierce Beasts

The first major inhabitants arise from the aftermath of Pangu's death and the fallen Godfiends.

  • Innate Sacred beings — born from Pangu's Primordial Spirit, innate thoughts, and lingering Dao laws of Great Dao Godfiends. 82
  • Twelve Ancestral Witches — nurtured from Pangu's muscles and Earth's Turbid Qi; they become the foundation of the Witch Clan. 82
  • Three Purities and Three Heavens — born from portions of Pangu's Clear Qi. 82
  • Fierce Beasts — born from the resentment of Godfiends slain by Pangu; their inherent purpose is to destroy the Primordial World. 82 87

Major Powers

By the era of the Heaven and Earth Protagonist Position, four principal powers divide the world's benefits and avoid open factional war due to the damage it would cause the Primordial World 320 332.

  • Demon Race / Heavenly Court — governs Heaven and dominates the Eastern Wasteland. The Heavenly Court contains Thirty-Six Heavens. 311 332
  • Witch Clan / Underworld — governs the Western Wasteland and the Underworld, including reincarnation and the netherworld. 330 332
  • Human Race — occupies the Southern Wasteland and contends for the Heaven and Earth Protagonist Position, representing Human Power. 330 332
  • Dragon Clan — rules the Four Seas and remains a major power beneath the Witch and Demon races. 275 271

Key Relationships

  • Ye Xuan — Creator and hidden guide. He supplies God Source to expand the world while deliberately allowing its inhabitants to develop autonomy. 12 81
  • Pangu — world-opener and foundational creator within the world. His sacrifice forms much of its land, life, treasures, and Heavenly Dao. 82
  • Heavenly Dao — formed from the Great Dao Jade Tablet; it governs the world's order and can assimilate the origins of captured worlds. 82 325
  • Chaotic World — the Primordial World's parent world and surrounding origin. The Primordial World exists as a separate world within it. 81 407
  • Three Thousand Great Dao Godfiends — their deaths nourish the world, while their Dao laws, resentment, and shattered treasures become sources for its later inhabitants and artifacts. 81 82
