Background / History
Liu Zheng is the ruler of Great Han, a Human Race monarch whose authority rests on personal strength, summoned forces, and a rapidly expanding imperial army. During an early crisis, Cao Zhengchun warns him that his imperial father has been attacked and escorts him from a secret chamber despite Liu Zheng’s open distrust over Cao Zhengchun’s earlier betrayal 522.
After taking Eastern Mausoleum City, Liu Zheng refuses to be confined to its defense. He kills the Barbarian Emperor, retakes six cities for Great Han, accepts a surrendering Barbarian general, and appoints the Brocade-Clothed Young Master as Grand Marshal after receiving a resource map of the Nine Provinces Continent 527.
His campaigns extend beyond the Nine Provinces into the Primordial World, the Northern Wasteland, star domains, and Otherworld territories. He repeatedly answers resistance with conquest, incorporation, or extermination, while using captured territories and resources to strengthen Great Han 595 632 652.
Appearance
Liu Zheng is presented as an imposing imperial warrior whose battlefield attire emphasizes his sovereign status and overwhelming force.
- Wears purple armor and a flowing cloak during the Great Xia campaign; lightning gathers in his hand as he fights 565.
- Appears with a gleaming golden crown while commanding Great Han’s Iron Cavalry 591.
- Rides a Black Cloud Steed during the Dongyi campaign and a lavish Nine-Dragon Jade Carriage on later battlefields 571 586.
- Can manifest dragon wings and expand his body to an immense size in battle 549 653.
Personality
Liu Zheng is supremely confident, decisive, and confrontational. He refuses intimidation from stronger factions, openly challenges rulers such as the Sirius Star Lord, and treats threats to Great Han as grounds for immediate retaliation 535 536. His commands commonly reduce opponents’ choices to submission or death.
His ruthlessness is paired with practical statecraft. He incorporates surrendered Great Xia soldiers into his army, accepts the loyalty of useful clans, distributes captured grain to disaster victims, and reduces taxes for commoners in Eternal City 570 571 632. He can also show personal attachment: he comforts Liu Yu after their parents’ deaths, is visibly distressed for Star Spirit Er, and moves to rescue his former lover Ji Ying after learning of her capture 535 539 564.
