History

Creation and early protection

Ye Xuan intended to create a “Perfect Human Race” whose members would possess the talents of Innate Sacreds, prioritize their race, and rise through their own efforts rather than being handed supremacy. He sought external materials because such a race could not be formed from within the Primordial World alone 150.

After Ye Xuan supplied the Creation Soil and Godhead Heart, Nüwa created the Human Race beside the Yin Yang Pool at the foot of Buzhou Mountain. Creation Soil gave their bodies and souls an Innate Sacred-level foundation, while the Godhead Heart endowed them with unyielding wills 230 234. Their birth immediately drew the hostility of Sacreds who considered their potential dangerous; Di Jun and Tai Yi protected them from those threats 235.

Nüwa left after ten thousand years, instructing humanity to become strong independently and seek Taiqing's aid only when truly necessary 235. When Di Jun offered them half of the Heavenly Court's middle heavens and numerous official posts, the Human Race refused the offer and chose self-improvement instead 238.

Tribal era and first wars

Suiren Shi divided the growing population into eighteen tribes. He remained near Buzhou Mountain to protect the sacred ancestral land, while leaders such as Shi Hao Shi, Han Li Shi, Su Ming Shi, and Ye Fan Shi led tribes into the wider world 239.

Once Nüwa's ten-thousand-year protection ended, Innate Sacreds and allied races began attacking the scattered tribes. The Human Race repelled them through collective strength and the He Transformation Freedom Great Method, decisively proving that they could no longer be treated as prey 243 244.

Establishment of the Human Emperor system

As tribes multiplied into the hundreds, their destiny became too divided to sustain further major breakthroughs. Suiren Shi established the Human Emperor position to gather that destiny, becoming the first Human Emperor and enfeoffing more than three hundred chieftains as kings 250.

This transformed the Human Race from a tribal society into a system of states. The Human Emperor served as the common lord, while individual kings governed their own countries and retained enough destiny to pursue the Great Dao 251.

Rise as Heaven and Earth Protagonist

The Human Race expanded across the Southern Wasteland, and its more than three hundred kings eventually entered the Chaotic Origin Realm 301. Suiren Shi then sought recognition for humanity's claim to the Heaven and Earth Protagonist Position from the Heavenly Court, Underworld, and Dragon Clan 331 332.

At the Yin Yang Pool, the Human Race offered sacrifices to Heaven, Earth, Nüwa, and its fallen forebears. Its fortune condensed into the Human Emperor Sword, and Suiren Shi obtained the Human Emperor Fruition Position 333. Humanity thereby completed the Human Power alongside the Heavenly Court's Heavenly Power and the Underworld's Earthly Power 330 331.

Later Human Emperors

After establishing humanity's position, Suiren Shi abdicated and became the Southern Emperor, leaving the next generation to strengthen the race 346 357. Shennong Shi presided over a period of internal development, during which the Human Race's later generations produced large numbers of powerful cultivators 357.

Xuanyuan later inherited the position amid unrest among the Human Race's nations. He sought to reunify humanity, defeated opposition, and began the large-scale refinement of Postnatal Spiritual Treasures and Ultimate Treasures 413 436. Ying Zheng succeeded Xuanyuan, gained recognition from the Human Emperor Sword, and announced his intention to establish a Heavenly Court of his own 501.

Innate Traits

Innate Dao Bodies

Every original Human Race member possesses an Innate Dao Body and an exceptional foundation.

  • They can cultivate any of the Three Thousand Great Daos as a primary path 234 238.
  • Exceptionally talented humans may touch the Five Supreme Great Daos 234.
  • No human can bear all Three Thousand Great Daos simultaneously; even Innate Sacreds cannot achieve this, with Pangu presented as the sole exception 238.
  • Their first generation rivals top-tier Innate Sacreds, while later generations retain aptitude comparable to Innate Sacreds despite gradually weaker foundations 239.

Indomitable Will

The Godhead Heart used in their creation gives humans an inherently unconquerable disposition.

  • They are born with an “invincible heart” and do not readily submit to stronger beings 234.
  • Their collective creed is self-improvement rather than dependence on the Heavenly Court or other great powers 238.
  • This trait does not prevent later political ambition, factionalism, or internal struggle among subsequent generations 413.

He Transformation Freedom Great Method

A secret Human Race divine ability revealed during the Sacreds' assault on the tribes.

  • Allows each cultivator to create multiple identical incarnations 244.
  • Every incarnation possesses combat power equal to the original 244.
  • Enabled the Human Race to overwhelm the allied Sacred forces that had underestimated them 244.

Society and Civilization

Government

The Human Race is governed through a distributed hierarchy rather than a fully centralized state.

  • The Human Emperor is the common lord of all humanity and the focal point of the race's destiny 250.
  • More than three hundred kings govern individual countries beneath the Human Emperor 250 251.
  • Cities sit beneath kingdoms, while the Sui Dynasty serves as the overarching Human Race polity 272.
  • This arrangement allows distant regions to govern their own affairs while requiring all nations to answer the Human Emperor's commands 411.

Sacred sites and symbols

  • Yin Yang Pool — Birthplace of the Human Race and its central ancestral sacred land beneath Buzhou Mountain 239 333.
  • Human Ancestral Court — The evolved form of the original ancestral land, where humans honor Nüwa and those who died for the race 250.
  • Human Emperor Sword — A sword condensed from Human Race fortune during the establishment of the Heaven and Earth Protagonist Position 333.
  • Human Emperor Robe and Crown — Regalia that enhance the Human Emperor's sacred and majestic bearing 332.

Human Script

Cangjie Shi created Human Script, freeing the Human Race from reliance on Dao Language and the Demon Race's Heavenly Script.

  • The script contains 129,600 characters and is modeled after natural phenomena such as mountains, rivers, lakes, and seas 260 261.
  • Its creation spreads the characters directly into the minds of the entire Human Race 261.
  • Cangjie Shi sacrifices his Double Pupils in the process, receives immense merit, enters the Chaotic Origin Realm, and is named the Human Teacher 260 261.
  • Human Script becomes a defining symbol of an independent Human Race culture 261.

Agriculture and artifact refinement

  • Shennong Shi expands the Shennong Materia Medica and discovers the Five Grains, driving immense population growth 357.
  • Under Xuanyuan, humanity begins mass-producing Postnatal Spiritual Treasures and Postnatal Ultimate Treasures 436.
  • This opens an age of artifact refinement, following an earlier age of pill refinement 436.

Internal Issues

Despite their idealized origin, later generations develop divisions that the first humans largely lacked.

  • As first-generation humans retreat into seclusion, later generations become increasingly involved in schemes, factional disputes, and competition for authority 413.
  • The Nine Li branch, associated with Witch Clan blood, becomes divided in identity; some descendants turn toward the Witch Clan and Devil Path 396.
  • After Chi You's defeat, Nine Li people become Li commoners and face discrimination within Human Race society because of their mixed bloodline 436.
  • The Human Race is described as proud and highly exclusionary toward genuine integration by foreign races 330.

Relationships

  • Nüwa — Holy Mother and direct creator of the Human Race; she creates them from Creation Soil and the Godhead Heart, then leaves them to develop independently after their protected early period 230 235.
  • Ye Xuan — Architect behind the Perfect Human Race; he gathers the necessary creation materials, guides Nüwa's opportunity, and later plans the Human Race's final tribulation 150 230 387.
  • Suiren Shi — First Human Emperor and foundational leader; he guides humanity from vulnerable tribes into a Heaven and Earth Protagonist race 250 333.
  • Cangjie Shi — Human Teacher who creates Human Script and establishes an independent written culture for the race 261.
  • Di Jun and Tai Yi — Early protectors against hostile Sacreds; Di Jun later supports the Human Race's claim to the Heaven and Earth Protagonist Position 235 331.
  • Taishang / Taiqing — Establishes the Human Gate to guide and protect the Human Race; he receives a major share of its providence 235 431.
  • Witch Clan — A major neighboring power that supports humanity's protagonist claim in exchange for increased intermarriage; later shares the Northern Wasteland with the Human Race 332 411.
  • Ten Thousand Races — Initially prey upon the newborn Human Race, then become rivals, subjects, or opponents as humanity rises to dominance 243 411.
