The perception reward...

Unexpected, yet reasonable.

Compared to earning perception's favor through making a "decision," it seemed easier to receive rewards during a "highlight moment" in battle.

"Vow Effect +1...?"

Moyu's expression shifted slightly. As he considered it, a small amount of information suddenly surfaced from the depths of his consciousness.

Vow and Restriction.

Set harsh conditions to enhance an ability's effects—the underlying principle was an "equivalent exchange."

To obtain a certain kind of ability effect, one had to establish equally harsh conditions.

As for the Vow Effect +1 granted by perception, for example, it was equivalent to Moyu using a level-one Restriction condition in exchange for a level-two Vow ability effect.

In other words—

After obtaining this reward, Moyu would very likely be able to develop a fully realized Mimicry Shared Appearance ability at no cost, provided it remained within the limits allowed by his current Vow effects.

Having understood the use of Vow Effect +1, Moyu was invigorated, his heart filled with delight.

Though it was not the Exorcism opportunity he currently needed more, Vow Effect +1 was still an immensely valuable reward to him.

After all, Soul Echo was a Specialist ability with an exceptionally high ceiling. Like Chrollo's Bandit's Secret, it required all sorts of Restriction conditions to uncover its full potential.

Some abilities could be acquired and strengthened by increasing the level of Hatsu, such as the shadow's Mimicry, clones, range, power, and abilities like Five Senses Sharing.

Yet some abilities needed Restriction to acquire and enhance their effects, such as the relatively high-level abilities Shared Cultivation Results and Position Swap.

That was not to say these abilities could only be developed by establishing Restrictions.

In fact, as long as one's Hatsu level was high enough, one could gradually develop abilities such as Shared Cultivation
