Background

Elvira was originally a Battle Angel of Heavenly Mountain's Seventh Holy Light Legion, a force specializing in direct warfare against the Abyss. She became disillusioned with Heavenly Mountain's rhetoric and its endless wars, intending to become a fallen angel before being drawn into the Holy Theocracy's Divine Descent project. 178

The Holy Theocracy used the mythical artifact Divine Touch to alter compatible Holy Light geniuses into Divine Descent Vessels. Angelina was its first and only successful vessel, activated upon her death; Elvira subsequently revealed herself as the being inhabiting that vessel. 178

After recovering enough of her suppressed Divine Power, Elvira sought out Lilith and pledged herself to the master behind her. She offered her vessel, Divine Power, and prospective control of the Holy Theocracy in return for permission to serve as Lin Mu's blade. Lin Mu accepted her conditionally, ordering her to reside in his courtyard under Lilith's supervision. 178 179
