Ch. 61The Allure of Stats

The Storm Mercenary Group attacked Kurd, hoping to seize the city, but its defenders overwhelmed their assault with arrows, magic, and heavily armored skeletons. As the five Second-Rank Knight leaders tried to retreat, Medivh’s Taunt Totems trapped them, and they realized they needed to find the Minotaur Shaman controlling them.

  • The Storm Mercenary Group arrived at Kurd with more than ten thousand fighters and attacked, confident it could take the city.
  • Skeleton Archers and Cat-man Warriors rained arrows on the attackers, while Flame Skeleton Mages blasted their charge back with Repulsion Fire Rings.
  • The mercenary leaders ordered a second assault after deciding the defenders were only Skeleton Mages, but Blue Bone Skeletons resisted their strikes and counterattacked.
  • With most of their force dead, the mercenary leaders tried to retreat, but Taunt Totems pulled the five Second-Rank Knights back into the battle.
  • The leaders recognized that a Minotaur Shaman was controlling the totems and ordered their troops to find it.

Ch. 62Cherish Life

Medivh’s Skeleton Legion defeated the Storm Mercenary Group and three more forces that attacked Kurd, while the Spirit Cat Tribe helped hold the walls. With Kurd exposed and the fighting spreading into the Wilderness, Medivh began strengthening the city’s defenses and mass-producing Green Bone Skeletons.

  • Deep Blue Skeleton Rangers and the Skeleton Legion killed the Storm Mercenary Group’s Second-Rank Knights, then the Skeleton Assassins hunted down the fleeing survivors.
  • A Drifter Group, a bandit group, and a Lizardman Battle Squad attacked Kurd, but the Skeleton Legion and Cat-men Warriors defeated them.
  • Medivh ordered a Full Fish Feast to reward the Spirit Cat Tribe for defending the outer walls.
  • Skeleton Assassins and Skeleton Rangers began attacking groups camped within Kurd’s patrol range after the siege ended.
  • Medivh began building Kurd’s Inner City Wall and mass-producing Green Bone Skeletons from bones excavated from the Ancient Battlefield.

Ch. 63Joining Forces to Attack

During the rainy season, Medivh strengthened Kurd’s defenses and prepared for another assault. Four enemy forces allied to attack the city together, but Kurd’s arrow fire inflicted heavy losses, leaving the attackers focused on storming the walls and silencing the Cat-men.

  • Medivh advanced to Second-Rank Knight, raised many new skeletons, and watched two Deep Blue Skeletons reach the second rank.
  • Skeleton Sentries reported several large enemy groups marching toward Kurd, while Skeleton Guards and Arrow Towers stood ready along the city walls.
  • A mercenary leader proposed that four approaching forces join together, capture Kurd, and divide its districts; the other leaders agreed.
  • The four allied forces launched a frontal assault, and Medivh moved the main Skeleton Army to meet them.
  • Cat-men in the Arrow Towers and Skeleton Archers unleashed a rain of arrows that killed many attackers.
  • The enemy leaders recognized the Cat-men as a threat and decided they had to rush the walls to silence them.

Ch. 64Picking on the Weak, Fearing the Strong

Medivh and Kurd City repelled an assault by four forces, including an assassination attempt, and the city’s growing defenses discouraged further attacks. After a half-month of peace, Wester received word that a Necromancer’s city had appeared in southeast Odyssey, where his nephew might be.

  • The four forces’ Transcendents attacked Kurd City’s walls while an invisible assassin squad infiltrated the city to target Medivh.
  • Medivh and Audrey exposed and defeated the assassins, and Medivh killed Shaco after revealing his second-rank strength.
  • The four forces’ troops and Transcendents were defeated, and the mercenary leader’s surrender offer went unanswered.
  • No forces attacked Kurd City for half a month, and Medivh strengthened its walls from five meters to eight while producing more Skeleton Warriors.
  • An information broker told Wester that a Necromancer’s city had appeared in southeast Odyssey and that his nephew might be there.

Ch. 65The One I Reported

Wester reported Medivh’s Necropolis to the Church of Light, whose investigators determined that Kurd City’s skeletons were bone Golems rather than traditional undead. The Church decided to establish a presence in Kurd City and monitor Medivh, and Bishop Moana arrived with Light Priests as Audrey warned him.

  • Wester, unable to hire bandits to attack Kurd City, reported its Necropolis to the Church of Light.
  • Bishop Moana’s investigators found that Detect Evil and spells against undead did not affect the Time Skeletons.
  • Bishop Moana concluded that Medivh crafted bone Golems and recommended that the Church build a Light Church in Kurd City to observe him.
  • The Regional Bishop Council approved Moana’s recommendation and sent her to watch Medivh, with a crusade planned if he joined the Necromancer Council.
  • Audrey reported that Bishop Moana and a group of Light Priests had arrived in Kurd City’s territory.

Ch. 66Refusal in No Uncertain Terms

Medivh welcomed the Church of Light to Kurd City and proved that his Bone Resurrection spell could not bypass the Hospice Blessing. He then refused the Mage Association’s demand for his Bone Refining Spell, but Saruman used Mind Control Spell to force him to demonstrate it.

  • Bishop Moana tested Medivh’s Bone Resurrection spell on a fresh corpse, and the Hospice Blessing dispelled it while its backlash injured his mind.
  • Moana gave Medivh a Clear Heart Potion and proposed establishing a Light Church in Kurd City, which he welcomed.
  • Moana chose the Tenth District as the church’s site, and the Light Priests settled there while awaiting construction.
  • Saruman arrived on behalf of the Mage Association and demanded that Medivh hand over Bone Refining Spell.
  • Medivh refused, so Saruman cast Mind Control Spell to force him to demonstrate Bone Refining Spell.

Ch. 67Stepping Into the Open

Medivh passed the Church of Light’s investigation after Bishop Moana stopped Saruman from probing his spell, allowing him to develop openly in Kurd City. He began overseeing the city’s expansion while the Light Priests discovered that plague was spreading through the Odyssey Region beyond Kurd City.

  • Bishop Moana interrupted Saruman’s Mind Control Spell, and a High Mage told Saruman that Medivh’s Bone Resurrection Spell was ordinary and its mutation could not be replicated.
  • Saruman left Kurd City, and Medivh understood that Bishop Moana’s intervention had protected him and earned him the Church of Light’s backing.
  • Medivh returned to the High Tower, then the next morning supervised skeletons building Kurd City’s Third Ring District while Black Furnace Fortress continued developing in secret.
  • Freya told Lux that a Skeleton Chef had served her a feast at the Spirit Cat Canteen, and Lux warned Bishop Moana not to eat food cooked by skeletons.
  • Bishop Moana told Lux to help plague victims, explaining that Kurd City had avoided the plague but it was spreading through other parts of the Odyssey Region.

Ch. 68Starry Sea

Freya reported that the Spirit Cat Tribe lived safely and comfortably in Kurd City, easing the Light Church’s concerns about Medivh. Medivh agreed to supply the Church’s daily necessities for free and gave Freya meal tickets, while planning to use the Church’s presence and his Pioneer identity to advance his ambitions.

  • Freya told Bishop Moana that Medivh had helped the Spirit Cat Tribe relocate to Kurd City, where its members received free food and were not enslaved.
  • Bishop Moana asked Freya to arrange a local supply agreement with Medivh for the Light Church’s daily necessities.
  • After the Light Priests departed to treat the plague, Freya presented Medivh with a procurement list.
  • Medivh offered to provide the supplies for free as a donation to the Church of Light and gave Freya Holy Meal Tickets for the priests.
  • Medivh told Freya that the gods loved all people, then considered how his Pioneer identity and the Church’s backing could help him gain noble status and pursue the Starry Sea.

Ch. 69Are Skeletons More Legitimate Than Us?

Medivh welcomed the Gewalt Federation’s recognition of Kurd City and agreed to cooperate with its army in a future campaign. He then led Kurd City’s skeleton legion against the Lizardman Tribe, defeating its forces with coordinated tactics and a powerful mix of ancestral war songs and magic.

  • A Gewalt Federation emissary recognized Medivh’s achievements and promised that he could earn noble status by assisting the Federation’s army in retaking Odyssey.
  • Medivh agreed to cooperate with the Federation and returned his attention to Kurd City’s development.
  • After locating the Lizardman Tribe, Medivh assembled Kurd City’s second-tier skeletons and marched east to attack it.
  • The skeleton legion answered the lizardmen’s war songs with ancient lizardman songs of its own, while its shamans, warlocks, and mages overwhelmed the tribe with buffs and spells.
  • Two Skeleton Assassins and a Skeleton Archer killed the Lizardman War Song Shaman, and the legion’s coordinated attacks wore down and killed the Lizardman Chieftain.

Ch. 70You're Really Something

After the skeleton legion defeated a Lizardman Tribe, Medivh harvested its graveyard and returned to Kurd City with bones and corpses. He revived his first Deep Blue Lizardman Warrior and, after months of work, had greatly expanded Kurd City’s skeleton forces.

  • The Archaeology Skeleton Team excavated the Lizardman Tribe’s graveyard, and the Light Priests watched Medivh’s unusual bone-gathering operation.
  • Medivh determined that the tribe’s history differed from the Lizardman Tribe of Spirit Cat Hill, while the Light Priests concluded his skeletons might be alchemical lifeforms rather than undead.
  • The skeleton legion thoroughly searched the tribe’s territory and escorted its bones and corpses back to Kurd City.
  • Medivh sorted and preserved the old bones, then revived a Deep Blue Lizardman Warrior and assembled his remaining complete Blue Bone sets.
  • By early November, Medivh had amassed thousands of skeletons, including new Lizardman Warriors and Shamans.

Ch. 71Joyful Interactions

Medivh inspected Kurd City’s rapid growth and later shared a meal at the Spirit Cat Canteen, where Lux and Freya joined him and discovered roasted skewers. The chapter left them enjoying the food and the Cat-men’s lively company.

  • Kurd City’s skeleton forces, defenses, farmland, and new Light Church continued to expand while Medivh focused on alchemy.
  • Bishop Moana returned to Kurd City and heard that surveillance had found Medivh and his Alchemy Skeletons behaving unlike traditional Necromancers.
  • Lux overcame her aversion to food prepared by Skeleton Chefs and went with Freya to the Spirit Cat Canteen, where Little Cat explained the meal tickets and limited schedule for roasted skewers.
  • Medivh invited Lux and Freya to join his table and allowed Little Cat to eat roasted skewers with them.
  • Medivh promised the Cat-men a double supply of skewers at mid-month if they helped prepare them, while Lux and Freya sampled the roasted potatoes and corn.

Ch. 72House Specialties

Medivh served Lux, Freya, and the Cat-men roasted skewers and whole chickens at the Spirit Cat Canteen, helping the guests who struggled with spicy food. Lux and Freya delivered a packed meal to Bishop Moana, and the Light Church praised Kurd's specialties while keeping its usual food orders.

  • Little Cat, Lux, and Freya tried roasted yellow croaker and then ordered spicy Honey Glazed Whole Chicken when the new dishes arrived.
  • Little Cat, Lux, and Freya struggled with the chicken's chili powder, so Medivh and Audrey offered them iced cola and Medivh gave Little Cat a chicken without chili.
  • Medivh explained that roasted whole chicken was not a regular Spirit Cat Canteen dish because Kurd's chicken farms could not supply more than eighty thousand Cat-men.
  • After lunch, Lux and Freya accepted a packed meal from Medivh to take to Bishop Moana.
  • Lux and Freya shared Kurd's specialty dishes with Bishop Moana and the other Priestesses, who praised the food but kept the Light Church's usual meal orders.

Ch. 73A Career Takes Off

Medivh expanded Kurd City’s trade, construction, and archaeological work while maintaining good relations with the Light Priests. After four months of excavations, he revived many powerful skeletons and gained hope of eventually building a Mage Tower.

  • Wester became furious when he learned the Church of Light had built a church in Kurd City instead of attacking the Necropolis, and he hoped Medivh had died.
  • Lux and Freya visited the Spirit Cat Canteen, where Cat-men helped prepare kebabs and received equal portions from the Skeleton Attendants.
  • Medivh bought Odyssey War intelligence and historical records from the Noble Council, then sent the Archaeology Skeleton Team to excavate ancient battlefields and ruins.
  • Anthony sold Kurd City’s products through a thriving trade route with the Gewalt Federation, while Skeleton Caravans returned with purchased supplies.
  • Medivh expanded Kurd City’s districts and nearly completed the Underground Corridor linking it to Black Furnace Fortress.
  • After four months of excavations, Medivh revived 42 Green Bone Skeleton Mages, 536 Green Bone Skeleton Knights, 56 Green Bone Orc Prophets, and 728 Green Bone Orc Berserkers, bringing him closer to obtaining the knowledge needed to build a Mage Tower.

Ch. 74I've Become a Mage!

Medivh strengthened Kurd City's population and defenses before advancing to Second-Rank Necromancer. After stabilizing his new rank, he resurrected a group of Purple Bone Skeletons and left the Underground Warehouse with them.

  • Medivh expanded Kurd City's skeleton population, reinforced its growing walls, and saw ten Deep Blue Skeletons advance to Second-Rank Bone Spirits.
  • Medivh resurrected a Deep Blue Kobold Dragonblood Sorcerer and, when its Spring of Time was insufficient, a Deep Blue Kobold Dragonblood Warrior to sustain his breakthrough attempt.
  • Medivh broke through to Second-Rank Necromancer before the second Spring of Time disappeared.
  • Medivh began melting and resurrecting Purple Bone Skeletons, which could start at Second Rank and grow to the upper levels of the Fourth Rank.
  • After a month in the Underground Warehouse, Medivh emerged with eighteen Common Light Purple Skeletons, twelve Common Pink Purple Skeletons, and five Kobold Dragonblood Skeletons.

Ch. 75Great Again

Medivh standardized the grades of colored Skeletons and restored more of the Cat-men's ancestral heritage. After the Fox-Rabbit Tribes offered to join Kurd City if he destroyed their enemy, the Bloodclaw Tribe, Medivh prepared for war and the Light Priests sent young priests to observe it.

  • Medivh classified Skeletons of each color by grade and assembled Purple Bone Cat-men, including Warriors, Warlocks, Rangers, and Assassins.
  • The Fox-girl and Rabbit-girl maids reported that their tribes' Warlock Chieftains would move to Kurd City if Medivh wiped out the Bloodclaw Tribe.
  • The maids urged Medivh to seize the Bloodclaw Tribe's ancient bones and recover the Fox-Rabbit Tribes' ancestral remains, winning his agreement.
  • Medivh ordered Kurd City to prepare for war against the Bloodclaw Tribe.
  • Moana sent Lux, Freya, and other young Light Priests to accompany the Skeleton army and document the battle.

Ch. 76Blood Backlash

Medivh sent the Skeleton Legion to Fox-Rabbit Hills, where it attacked the Bloodclaw Tribe. The Skeletons proved immune to the Gnolls’ blood-based powers and overwhelmed them, leaving the Fox-Rabbit and Cat-man forces watching from the rear.

  • Medivh sent more than twenty thousand Skeletons west from Kurd City and began producing additional Skeletons to strengthen the city’s remaining population.
  • Mercenary commanders learned that the Skeleton Legion had left but refused to attack Kurd City because the Noble Council had ordered them not to oppose Medivh.
  • The Skeleton Legion reached Fox-Rabbit Hills and attacked the Bloodclaw Tribe while the Fox-Rabbit and Cat-man warriors provided support from the rear.
  • The Gnolls’ Blood Curses and Bloodlust failed against the Skeletons, and the Orc Skeleton Prophet and Gnoll Skeleton Warlocks used the released blood energy to empower Skeleton Berserkers.
  • Skeleton Berserkers and other Skeleton forces slaughtered the Gnolls, while the Fox-Rabbit and Cat-man tribes watched in astonishment without joining the fight.

Ch. 77Good Friends Go Together

Medivh’s Skeleton Army crushed the Bloodclaw Tribe’s Gnoll forces while the Fox-Rabbit tribes and their Tiger-Cat allies watched and joined the fight. The Fox-Rabbit and Tiger-Cat tribes agreed to move to Kurd City, where the Tiger-Cat people discovered the skeletons digging up their graveyard.

  • The Fox-Rabbit chieftains saw the Skeleton Army’s overwhelming strength and prepared their people to move to Kurd City.
  • The Tiger-Cat Tribe arrived to help the Fox-Rabbit tribes, and Medivh had the Skeleton Archers stand down after learning they were allies.
  • Tiger-Cat warriors joined the battle and fought the Gnolls alongside the Skeleton Army.
  • The Fox-Rabbit chieftains told the Tiger-Cat Chieftain about Kurd City’s plentiful food, and he asked to move his tribe there too.
  • Medivh welcomed the Tiger-Cat Tribe and sent skeleton teams to help them move.
  • The Tiger-Cat people learned that the Archaeology Team was digging up their graveyard.

Ch. 78Refreshing Their Perspective

Medivh’s Skeleton Legion defeated the Bloodclaw Tribe’s Gnolls, excavated their ancestral graveyards, and escorted the Fox-Rabbit tribes and Tiger-Cat Tribe back to Kurd. Other factions misread the newcomers as slave merchandise, while Medivh settled them in Kurd’s residential districts and the chapter ended with a census of their populations.

  • The Tiger-Cat Chieftain accepted Medivh’s offer to move his people’s ancestors’ remains to Kurd, and the Tiger-Cat people let the Archaeology Skeletons continue excavating.
  • The Skeleton Legion routed the Bloodclaw Tribe’s Gnoll army, pursued the fleeing Gnolls, and collected corpses as Medivh searched for and excavated ancestral graveyards.
  • Lux, Freya, and other young priests saw Medivh’s Skeletons digging up Gnoll graves, reinforcing their grim view of his habits.
  • The Skeleton Legion returned to Kurd with the Fox-Rabbit tribes and Tiger-Cat Tribe, leading other factions to recognize the Legion’s strength and wrongly assume Kurd planned to sell the newcomers as slaves.
  • Medivh settled the Fox-Rabbit tribes and Tiger-Cat Tribe in Kurd’s Second Ring District, and a census counted 51,237 Spirit Foxes, 127,489 Spirit Rabbits, and 8,364 Tiger-Cat people.

Ch. 79Round-Bellied

After the Bloodclaw Tribe’s defeat, Medivh sorted the fallen tribes’ bones and learned more about the region’s history. The Fox-Rabbit and Tiger-Cat tribes settled in Kurd City, where their people enjoyed plentiful food, and the Fox-Rabbit chieftains asked Medivh to restore their fragile ancestral bones.

  • The Skeleton Legion, the Fox-Rabbit tribes, and the Tiger-Cat Tribe helped wipe out the Bloodclaw Tribe, and Medivh arranged the Gnoll remains by age and condition.
  • Medivh found Yellow-Grade and Red-Grade bones among the Bloodclaw ancestors and learned that the Fox-Rabbit tribes had a long history while the Tiger-Cat Tribe had migrated from the Bear-man Empire.
  • The Fox-Rabbit and Tiger-Cat tribes settled in Kurd City and ate generous meals, with the Tiger-Cat people initially eating until they could barely walk.
  • The Tiger-Cat people enjoyed their new homes and Kurd City's illuminated streets, grateful to their friends and Lord Medivh for their comfortable new life.
  • The Fox-Rabbit chieftains brought Medivh fragile ancestral bones and asked him to restore their ancestors to their former glory.

Ch. 80The Inheritance Tower

Medivh established an Inheritance Tower for the Spirit Fox and Spirit Rabbit clans, reviving many of their ancestors to strengthen their traditions. He later obtained Mage Tower construction knowledge and began transforming Tower No. 7, which needed an Elemental Energy Pool to operate.

  • Medivh summoned the Fox-Rabbit leaders, introduced four revived ancestors, and proposed an Inheritance Tower for the two clans.
  • The clans' leaders supported Medivh's plan and sent ancestral bones to Tower No. 1 for revival.
  • Medivh revived dozens of Spirit Fox and Spirit Rabbit warriors and Warlocks, then opened the clans' Inheritance Tower and affiliated academies.
  • Medivh noticed the rainy season had failed to arrive and ordered the Skeleton Farmers to keep the fields irrigated.
  • Medivh revived a Skeleton Mage who knew how to build Mage Towers and had experience constructing one.
  • Medivh began turning Tower No. 7 into a Mage Tower, but his Skeleton Mages explained that it required an Elemental Energy Pool for power.
