The book goes on sale tomorrow. Just as I promised, there'll be at least 20,000 words, plus the extra chapters from the previous reward milestones.
Here are the current stats:
184 monthly votes +2,000 words
2,747 recommendations +4,000 words
2,288 tips
85 blade votes +2,000 words
That's 28,000 words total. To round it up, I'll update 30,000 words tomorrow.
Of course, if the numbers keep climbing before tomorrow's update, I'll add even more. Yeah, that's about it.
The stats aren't great (I only have 2,813 followers), but this book wasn't approved until November 20, and I signed the contract on the 21st. It's only been two weeks, so I'll keep writing. Giving up halfway isn't my style, so feel free to jump in.
As for the update schedule, I'll guarantee 6,000 words a day. I may combine chapters later, so I won't stick to a fixed chapter count.
I'll also add chapters from time to time, depending on how things go.
As for the plot, I only said that the protagonist was a chef in his previous life and had seen people from a special forces unit. I never said outright that he'd served in the military, and I've already revised the earlier wording. So please don't assume I'm trying to smear the country's soldiers or anything like that. I really can't bear that kind of accusation.
As for people saying my writing is bad, it's true that I'm not a great writer, but I don't think it should be so bad that people can't understand it, right? I'll try to make it clearer from now on. If you still can't understand it, then there's nothing I can do. You can't become a great writer overnight.
As for the technology, someone asked why he didn't save some of the Translation Konjac. All I can do is laugh. If you were about to die and someone gave you a magic pill, saying it would save your life, would you eat half of it first to see how well it worked? Wouldn't a normal person just eat the whole thing?
And were you planning to give some of it to other people? You can't be serious, right?
Then there's the second piece of technology: Value-Added Bank: One Day.
It only lasts for 24 hours, so at most it can multiply your assets by about 9.8 times. If the principal is the same, wouldn't the final assets be fixed? Besides, this thing updates every hour, recalculating the remaining time based on the principal. There was no point in the story where he took it out and used it like that. He simply deposited 2.09 million for 24 hours. What's so hard to understand about that?
Someone else asked why he used it so early. Well, with the protagonist's body, he needs expensive, luxurious meals every day to replenish his nutrition. He'd spend all his money in a month. And I didn't even give him things like ginseng.
If he doesn't know whether he'll get more money in the future, why shouldn't he use it sooner to make some?
Rather than believe the school would give him a chance to earn a huge amount of points, the protagonist would obviously be more inclined to trust the system at first.
And then there's the Memory Candy. The protagonist had a whole box of it. What's wrong with trying one to test the effects? Why are people even nitpicking about this?
Some people said that the protagonist had lived for so long in his previous life that he should have forgotten all his knowledge. But why not consider that he spent the entire previous month studying hard?
The protagonist I want to write is simply someone who wants to enjoy life at school and help Class D move up a class along the way.
Maybe the story will go off track sometimes, but I'll do my best to keep writing.
I'll accept reasonable feedback. But if you're just here to pick a fight and mess with the author, don't bother. If you're so great, write your own book so I can learn from you.

A side note: Reading the comments kept me from writing a single word all day. I have to make up for it now, so I'm off.
Chapter 64: Huh? Kushida, what a coincidence
Looking at the somewhat thin Shuichi Kanda, Chabashira sighed to herself. There was nothing for it; she'd just have to buy him something to help him build himself back up.
"How many points do you want?"
?
What do you mean?
I never said I wanted points.
"How many points would it take for you to stop fighting Ayanokoji?"
Shuichi Kanda truly hadn't expected Chabashira-sensei to think that. He'd only wanted to tease her a little, since she didn't act like a teacher at all.
But she'd actually thought he wanted points? Chabashira-sensei, what the hell?
When Shuichi Kanda didn't answer, Chabashira Sae continued speaking as if to herself.
"How about 100,000 a month? I've gathered some information about you. You eat expensive meals every day, and even when you cook for yourself, you choose high-quality ingredients. Even so, 100,000 a month should be enough to eat well."
You want to keep Ayanokoji and me from fighting, so you're trying to keep me?
What do you take me for, Shuichi Kanda?
Do you think I need your 100,000 Private Points a month?
Are you trying to insult me with money?!
"Deal!"
Hearing Shuichi Kanda agree, Chabashira Sae secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Good. A hundred thousand a month was manageable.
As for Shuichi Kanda changing his mind, that was unlikely. He was used to eating lavish meals, so it would probably be difficult for him to go back to ordinary food.
After seeing the 100,000 points deposited into his account, Shuichi Kanda decided to tell Chabashira-sensei the truth. Otherwise, she was just too pitiful.
"Chabashira-sensei, actually, I still..."
"Don't push your luck."
How was that pushing his luck? He'd only wanted to say he still had something to tell her. What was her problem?
Seeing Shuichi Kanda fall silent again, Chabashira-sensei sighed.
"What else is there? Go ahead and say it."
"Actually, I think you shouldn't keep such a straight face all the time. Could you smile for me?"
The mood suddenly turned quiet. Then Chabashira Sae smiled like an evil spirit.
"Is this the kind of smile you meant?"
With the streetlight casting shadows across her face, Chabashira Sae looked terrifying. Shuichi Kanda shuddered. He'd just seen a ghost!
"N-no, that's too scary. Then give me a bashful look!"
"Ah! Stop!"
"I'm sorry! I was pushing my luck!"
"Then stop pulling my ear..."
A while later, Shuichi Kanda rubbed his ear as he looked at Chabashira, who seemed to be in a much better mood.
"Actually, I just wanted to tell you what happened today."
"What happened today?"
"Ah, Ayanokoji saving Yamauchi was something I arranged—or rather, it was a plan we'd come up with beforehand."
Chabashira Sae's mind briefly stalled. Why? Saving Yamauchi wouldn't benefit you. Why did you save him?
Shuichi Kanda looked at the utterly bewildered expression on her face and felt a secret rush of satisfaction. Then he proudly explained his plan to the confused teacher before him. Of course, he kept the contract a secret.
Terrifying!
This student was terrifying!
Not only had he given most of the class a common enemy, he'd also made the others feel indebted to him, ensuring they wouldn't expose him carelessly.
On top of that, he'd improved his own pitiful image in the class.
Chabashira Sae couldn't think of any other motives for now, but she felt there had to be more to it than that.
What other motive could there be? Of course, it was to leave Class D with a scapegoat!
If there ever came a day when Class D had no choice but to expel someone, Shuichi Kanda could rally the class to sacrifice Yamauchi Haruki.
So, had she been tricked out of 10 Private Points? No, it was 100,000 a month!
"Chabashira-sensei, does the 100,000 Private Points a month still stand?"
"Get lost!"
Damn adults, always going back on their word!
Chabashira Sae took a deep breath. She felt she couldn't keep talking to Shuichi Kanda, or sooner or later she'd start thinking she was an idiot.
"I'll count this 100,000 as an advance for next month."
Before leaving, Chabashira tossed out that parting remark. It seemed she still meant to honor their agreement of 100,000 points a month.
Shuichi Kanda stretched with satisfaction. The food in his stomach had more or less settled, so he could take a walk back.
He hadn't taken more than a couple of steps when Shuichi Kanda spotted a familiar figure by the railing in the distance.
Hey, wasn't that Kushida Kikyo? What was she doing here so late?
Oh, well. He'd say hello.
But the next moment, he froze. What the hell? Was he seeing things?
"God, she's so annoying! Just because she's cute, she thinks she can do whatever she wants!"
Then came the sudden sound of someone kicking the railing.
Thud! Thud!
Huh, looks like he'd stumbled on some hidden event.
Then Shuichi Kanda quietly took out his phone and started recording...
He couldn't turn off the camera flash or shutter sound when taking photos, but the video camera only made a sound when he stopped recording. As long as he stopped recording while she was kicking the railing, there was no way she'd notice.
"Annoying! Annoying! Annoying!"
Thud! Thud! Thud!
"Why doesn't someone like Horikita just die already? That bitch!"
After watching Kushida vent for almost a minute, he finally saw her stop.
Shuichi Kanda had already stopped recording and put his phone away.
"Cough, cough!"
The sudden cough made Kushida's whole body tense. Then she mechanically turned around and saw Shuichi Kanda standing beneath the streetlight.
"Kan...da...? Why are you over there?"
"Chabashira-sensei asked me to come here to talk about something."
At the mention of Chabashira-sensei, Kushida immediately grew tense.
"Chabashira-sensei? Where is she?"
"She left five minutes ago."
Five minutes. Kushida had only been here for two or three minutes, so Chabashira-sensei definitely hadn't been there.
Kushida secretly breathed a sigh of relief and looked over at Shuichi Kanda.
"You... saw everything?"
Kushida's face was extremely grim, and her voice was very low. She was nothing like the little angel she usually pretended to be. But for some reason, Shuichi Kanda actually preferred this side of her. Her voice was much better than that fake, cutesy one she usually used, too.
"If I said I didn't hear anything, would you believe me?"
Shuichi Kanda deliberately put on a helpless expression, then walked toward Kushida.
"Besides, I've long suspected you weren't really like the person you pretended to be. Turns out this is the real you."
No human being could be flawless, and nobody could be friends with everyone. Even saints had people they liked and disliked, because humans weren't machines with preset code.
That was why Shuichi Kanda thought this side of Kushida was normal. It felt like the real her.
"Pretending to be gentle and cute all the time must have built up a lot of stress, right? I'd been wondering when you'd let it out. I didn't expect to catch you in the act. Guess it was fate."
