Class A System

• Classes A through D are ranked by the school’s evaluation of their students’ overall quality, with Class A representing the highest-ranked group 13 19.
• Each class begins with 1,000 Class Points; monthly Private Points are distributed at a rate of 100 per Class Point 13.
• Class rank is not permanent. A class may be promoted or demoted when its Class Points rise above or fall below those of another class 74 117 165.
• The Class A designation is the sole route to the school’s promised graduation benefits; Classes B through D graduate under a different school name 20.

History

First-Year Class A Changes

Original Class A

The original Class A entered school with a strong awareness of the class hierarchy. Its members recognized Class D students as lower-ranked, suggesting that their leadership had already informed the class of the system 11.

Katsuragi Kōhei initially served as the class’s central leader. His standing declined after Yahiko Totsuka assaulted Shuichi Kanda, causing a major Class Point loss and prompting students to abandon Katsuragi for Sakayanagi Arisu’s faction 30.

The class was heavily targeted during the Uninhabited Island Exam. Class D’s multiple-leader strategy and cooperation with Classes B and C allowed the other classes to identify Class A’s real leader, Yahiko, while Class A incorrectly named Akito Miyake as Class D’s leader 72 73. The resulting loss dropped Class A beneath Ichinose’s class 74 117.

Kanda’s Class A

Shuichi Kanda’s class began as Class D, later rose to Class C, and finally reached Class A by winning the four-class Special Exam without a loss 165 225. As Class C’s Commander, Kanda used class intelligence, event selection, and an agreement with Masumi Kamuro to secure a 7–0 result 211 225.

After becoming Class A, Kanda was elected Student Council President. During the Cultural Festival, he announced that Class A would not participate as a class, framing the decision as an opportunity for the other classes to compete 303.

By the second year, Class A was noted for its self-discipline and initiative. Hiyori Shiina’s transfer into the class drew little reaction because class transfers had become an expected possibility 319. The class later consisted of forty-one students 330.

Leadership and Notable Members

• Katsuragi Kōhei — Initial leader of the original Class A. His authority eroded after Yahiko’s assault and the class’s subsequent failures 30 73.
• Sakayanagi Arisu — Built a faction within the original Class A, displaced Katsuragi’s influence, and later led the class after it returned to the top rank 30 211.
• Ichinose Honami — Led the class that briefly became Class 1-A after the original Class A’s defeat on the Uninhabited Island 117.
• Shuichi Kanda — Led the former Class D through its rise to Class C and then Class A; served as Commander during its decisive promotion exam and later became Student Council President 211 225 303.
• Masumi Kamuro — Worked with Kanda against Sakayanagi’s Class A and served as that class’s Commander during the four-class Special Exam 214 225.
• Akito Miyake — A key contributor to Kanda’s class; his archery performance helped Class C defeat Class B in the Special Exam 221.

Major Conflicts

• Class B / Ichinose’s class — Rose above the original Class A following the Uninhabited Island Exam, but later lost Class A status during the Paper Shuffle 74 117 165.
• Class C / Ryuen’s class — Cooperated with Kanda’s then-Class D to undermine the original Class A during the Uninhabited Island Exam 65 74.
• Kanda’s Class C — Defeated all other classes in the four-class Special Exam, taking 350 Class Points from its opponents and receiving a 100-point first-place bonus 225.
• Sakayanagi’s Class A — Was pressured into accepting Kanda’s conditions during the Mixed Training Camp, when Kanda, Kanzaki, and Kaneda arranged groups that could have left half of Class A facing expulsion 190 191.
