Background / History

During Black Sheath Hall’s Elite Selection, Chen Jing notices Luo Bin’s potential and asks that he be allowed to train under Jiang Ling. He explicitly promises that Luo Bin will remain affiliated with Black Sheath Hall, presenting the request as an effort to cultivate worthy talent rather than take it for himself. 5 6
Following Old Master Chen Shuo’s death, Chen Jing handles the supernatural crisis disrupting the Moon Veil Nightclub, a Chen Family asset whose profits belong to him. Jiang Ling refuses to intervene directly and instead sends Luo Bin with Chen Jing to gain experience. 13
Appearance
Chen Jing is a fourteen-year-old boy with a youthful face and a height of only slightly over 1.6 meters. Despite his age and build, he often carries himself with unusual composure and maturity. 13 25
- Wears refined young-master attire, including suits tailored during his outings with Luo Bin. 14
- Carries firearms during dangerous operations, including a long-barreled foreign rifle and a revolver. 14 17
- Was described as wearing a pristine white shirt when found unconscious after his kidnapping. 32
Personality
Chen Jing has a genuine appreciation for talent. He takes interest in Luo Bin before Luo Bin has any status in the Chen Family, seeks Jiang Ling’s guidance for him, and later repeatedly defends his worth to his sisters. 5 25
He is mature and responsible in family affairs, particularly in his concern for the Moon Veil Nightclub and its guests. However, he remains impulsive and youthful: he is eager to explore beyond Ping City, enjoys leisure outings, and underestimates danger despite being unable to fight as a martial artist. 13 18 21 29
His relationship with Luo Bin develops without rigid class distance. He comes to admire Luo Bin’s knowledge, composure, and martial ability, addressing him as “Brother Luo” and treating him as a trusted companion. 13 19 20
